Just bought two litters of 48mg in pg was going to break one liter down into smaller bottles and leave the other one sealed probably be about three years before I open the second do you think it will be ok stored in freezer. Also was going to put in an order with chefs in the UK want to get my hands on some inawera for pipe flavors any other suggestions for flavors that are hard to get stateside.

It's good enough but best practice to break it down into glass bottles. https://theflavor.page/ has a list of flavors that you can't get stateside and I think /u/isuamadog might know of a handful of tobacco flavors that are hard to find.

I'd grab the Flavor Monks Tobacco Bastards ones that sound interesting to you. I think they have 4 currently:

Original - im still testing but the bacco base for the rest from what I can tell

Light - nutty bacco with caramel hints. good flavor probs good 2-4 as a real bacco heavy ry4 replacement or nutty bacco blends

Custard - i have yet to test (just was gifted it!)

Mint - excellent mint flavor with some bacco. highly recommend if youre into that

Also from FM:

Green Apple, Drop (black licorice), FM Gin Tonic heavy tonic flavor but great realistic gin flavor (sadly they dont carry the pure gin which is much better).

Hangsen Ry1 - expensive imo but one of my favorite flavors. at 3% is a nice neutral to sweet body filler. can solo at higher percents. needs a week steep imo.

inw - i was meh on red for pipe, but if you're deep diving you can give it a shot. initial tests were more of a candy cherry bacco but i was relatively let down after how good black cherry for pipe is. I think they have inw horned toffee which interests me. heard it was good. i heard inw smoked plum was good for 'drying up a bacco' but i wasnt really happy with the flavor even though i tested it ages ago. INW TA Virginia is probably worth getting since it's the only TA I know that is available easily anymore even though i havent tried it for a good while and i dont remember it wowing me.

FA stuff you cant get from US: Milk, custard premium, corn, etc. check out this list here - https://theflavor.page/euro-exclusives.

there's probably something im forgetting.

edit: HS apple mix is a nice spiced apple. i forget who has it in the us. probably skippable unless you are an apple fan. i like it.

Thanks for all the great info I didn't know about the flavor monks tobacco's at all going to pick up the original and light for sure. Will also pick up ry1 and green apple drop sounds very interesting have to give it a try now. Was planning on all the inw tobacco's do you know if dark tobacco is the same as black for pipe? I actually have horned toffee really like it I'm not very good at describing flavors but to me it tastes like a dark toffee syrup not real buttery best between 2-3% thanks again for everything really appreciate all the info.

Green apple and drop are good but also separate flavors. Not sure if that was clear. Dark tobacco base I have. It is not like black for pipe for sure. I used it in a mix that I was familiar with but was going for more of a tobacco absolute feel and swapped that out never to return to test it. I’m not 100% sure what else they have but feel free to ask if I’ve tried something. All the for pipes are great minus my limited experience with red for pipe.

Just bought 1L 100mg Nicotine all PG base - Best to keep in freezer?

Also bought 1L of pre-mixed 1.5 Nicotine with 60VG/40PG - also best kept in freezer?

Any provable risk of leaving these liquids in original plastic? - Has it ever been proven that there is any significant chemical leaching from the plastic - especially when frozen?

Do you guys use 100 pg, 100vg or 50/50 for purenic?

It's not pure nic. I think you just mean nic base.

But it depends. If normal lower strength with freebase, either PG or 50/50

Oh yeah I'm still new sorry. Going to make my first order on river supply and I've heard different things for the Nic so that's the most confusing part I think

1 points

by Apexifiedover 4 years agoThe Kingmaker

What strength do you plan on mixing? e.g. 3mg/ml?

By purenic do you mean river supply nic brand? If so most people buy either 100mg per ml or 250mg per ml in pg base. Pg is easier to work with. It is also similar to mix because the flavorings mostly pg based as well and it makes the math easier than having to account for additives in both the pg and the vg. I also have noticed through experience that my pg based nic has lasted longer in the freezer than my vg. I always thought it would be the other way around due to thickness but my pg nic seems much more fresh at 3 years in. My river supply nic also seems to be holding up well. The nic I got from for a place years ago called eliq has not faired the best out of all the brands I have. I don't even know if they are still around. Honestly I don't even remember getting it lol. I am using it up on my friends lol.

I bought eliq as well and mine is perfectly fine. Has also been 2-3 yrs

If you mean PureNic brand from River Supply, I use 100mg/ml in 100% VG. I use VG because the hubs and I both prefer a higher VG percentage. Using VG nic base helps us keep our PG usage down to a minimum.

What's the difference between them...I'm so confused on what to get for my first order.. stressing me out to be honest lol

First off, take a breath and calm down. It'll be okay.

Second, the only difference... well there's two, really...

VG is vegetable glycerin. It's very thick (about like heavy corn syrup) and has almost no taste or smell. It's a little sweet but not much else. Because it's so thick people who mix with syringes have difficulty measuring it. It also has a tendency to thicken up,, a LOT, when stored in the freezer. People who have sensitivity to PG also use VG to avoid the PG.

PG is propylene glycol. It's much thinner. A littler tthinner than real maple syrup. It's a little sweeter than VG but still, no smell. It's MUCH easier to use with a syringe and doesn't thicken up as much in the freezer.

In all reality, it all boils down to personal preference.

What’s an easy way of popping off the tops of unicorn bottles for re-use? I went to wash a few of my empties and I could not for the life of me undo the part that you snap on. I used a butter knife, my fingernail and I just couldn’t do it.

There's a tool specifically for that. You can get it from BullCityFlavors.com

https://www.bullcityflavors.com/cap-removal-tool/

It's $3.00 right now. I don't know if it's always 3 bucks but it is now!

Great tool, actually. I decided a long time ago to just not use those bottles at all

I just broke a spout on my 15ml bottle I keep my working nicotine in trying to remove it with a screwdriver... Adding this to my next order.

So I’m not sure I want to assume the risk of having pure nicotine in my house as I have two kiddos. I’ve looked into premixed 70/30 juice 6mg that I can freeze and do one shot flavors in. Would this theoretically work if I do it in amber bottles with caps? Maybe I’m over thinking this and would be better off doing nic but it makes me uncomfortable.

1 points

by isuamadogover 4 years agoRenaissance Mixer

safety first, of course. I have a few small amber bottles in the kitchen freezer of 100mg nic and several larger bottles in the deep freeze in the basement no one touches but me. If they can't reach it, doesnt mean they wont. My kid is old enough to know not to touch it. My half blind mom is a different story altogether. I've educated her but it is still a risk. YMMV

Yeah. My kids are adhd so I really worry. I am buying a second deep freeze that’s going in my in laws basement so maybe that’s a better option? I just know for me it’ll also be Easier as far as time goes to just add my flavor concentrates and safer as there isn’t a working bottle of straight nic. Any recommendations on retailers?

Idk what I’d rather: keeping an eye on it or putting it where someone else could potentially harm themselves? If they’re only adults, then maybe I’d prefer that.

I’ve stocked up from both LB and RS. Idk who’s selling now or who has what, unfortunately :(

I locked my nic up in this case from harbor freight. Fits quite a few 60ml bottles of nic inside.

Do you usually vape 70/30, 6mg? If so, remember that when you add concentrates you're going to be bringing down the mix 5-15, even 20% depending on recipe or OneShot strength.

If you start with 10ml premixed base you have 7 ml vg, 3ml pg and 60mg of nic total. If you add 1.75 ml of pg flavoring (14.89%) you'll have a 60/40 5.1 mg/ml mix.

Good point. Maybe I am better going the straight nic route. I wonder if they make lock boxes for the freezer...

Can I reuse plastic bottles that hold my finished product? If so, how can I properly clean them between uses?

5 points

by isuamadogover 4 years agoRenaissance Mixer

if it's the same juice you can just mix right in the bottle. if it's a similar profile, i just have at it. if it's a completely different profile, you can wash with warm water and let it dry. People use all kinds of methods ranging from a drop of hand soap and warm water to ultrasonic cleaners and dishwashers.

Question re storing nic base - I’ve already purchased enough 8oz Boston round bottles to store my stockpile of liquid base. I had originally planned to have my “working bottle” of nic base also be 8oz but I’m beginning to worry that will be too high a volume for how much I will be using and it will go bad in the process. If I were to pour out 2oz at a time from the freezer bottles and top with argon will that keep it good? I’d rather not spend another $50+ on 2oz bottles but don’t want my supply to go bad. Thanks!

by tinwhistlinover 4 years ago

I’ve got my extra nic stored in 16oz Boston rounds, topped with argon, and capped with the poly cone caps. I intend on splitting that into smaller bottles whenever I need to start using that nicotine.

I’ve poured pg straight from the freezer into my working bottle, and I can’t imagine 5 minutes out of the freezer to pour, retop with argon, and recap would cause any kind of degradation.

2 points

by Apexifiedover 4 years agoThe Kingmaker

Even without the argon it would be unlikely to degrade in the freezer. But topping it off with argon each time will pretty much guarantee that it will be good until it's gone.

Cool, thank you. That’s kind of what I figured. I think I’ll still grab a can of it, it’s only like $12

And it's good for wine/scotch if you're into either of those :)

Will VG and PG and the flavors still be available once the ban kicks in?

3 points

by Apexifiedover 4 years agoThe Kingmaker

They're multi-purpose so they won't be affected

Has anyone used Nicotine Bitartrate Dihydrate powder to make juice? I see it on river supply and seems like a great secondary backup (already have as much 250mg/ml as I can donate freezer space to). I understand the safety precautions in working with that sort of powder, but not seeing any threads of people having used it. Would plan to make 1l batches of base with it to replenish freezer use.
