Cheap / Quick Way To Test Out Recipes
submitted over 4 years ago by livvyo116Proud Sidebar Reader!

I apologize in advance if this has already been posted.

Although I have a TON of glass & plastic bottles for juice storage (over 100+), I am still running low. I am only making 10ml of flavors, but most have to steep. I am probably overdoing it, but I have only made 1 recipe that has turned out to be an ADV.

Instead of washing out all those glass bottles/droppers, I have found a cheap & "disposable way" to test flavors. Glass test tubes off of Amazon. I paid like $8 for 50 glass ones. I figured this would allow me to have more flavors steeping, that I can test out. Whenever I find a flavor that I like, I can pour it in a glass bottle, keep the recipe & make more to steep. If I don't like it, I can rinse it out & recycle.

Hi. That‘s actually a pretty neat idea, especially for not using plastic. u/ayce_k The bottoms can be round, you can use a stand on the scale and a rack for steeping a bunch of them. Thanks for the idea u/livvyo116!

Actually the ones I got are flat. I find them easier to mix the juices. They don't leak. They also stay pretty steady while filling. These are only 15ml, so they would only work for mixing small amounts. They also have trays to hold them, but I've just been putting my mixed ones in cups/pencil holders.

This is such a dope idea. I think I‘m gonna co-opt it for my stand-alone trials and untested recipes. Props for thinking of the planet!!

Don't most test tubes have rounded bottoms? How are you mixing your testers?
