Description: This recipe started out as an experiment with FLV Creme de Menthe. After SFTing it I wanted to make a recipe that tasted like Andes mints.

My Gear:

  • OBS Engine Nano
  • Single Core 3mm ID Triple Core Fused Clapton (28gx3/36g) 5 wraps @ 0.230 Ohms
  • Odin DNA 250C - TC Mode: 405°F @ 35W

This is the second mix that I tried during my adventures with mints. It’s a first for me in that I haven’t actually tried any chocolates to date so this checks a couple of different boxes for me...chocolates and FLV Creme de Menthe.

In my last review Wintermint Cream the mint was at the forefront of the mix, but in Alt Mint it is far less prevalent.

The mix:

  • VT Chocolate Mousse - 1.5%
  • FLV Creme de Menthe - 1.5%
  • VT Devon Cream - 2.0%
  • CAP Super Sweet - 0.5%
  • TPA Vanilla Swirl - 1%
  • Steep time: 7 days

I’ve run across quite a few mixes that claim to capture a flavor profile, but don’t quite achieve it. That fruity pebbles mix that tasted like furniture polish or that donut mix that was missing the donut. Doh! We’ve all been there.

This mix absolutely nails down the Andes Mint. Even though it has been a while since I have enjoyed one as soon as the cotton was broken in it was unmistakably what it brought me back to.

The chocolate notes are light and fluffy and blend really nicely with Creme de Menthe which in itself turns out to be the most enjoyable of the mints that I have tried yet. It’s subtle, but bold and doesn’t bully the recipe. It has a clean, refreshing taste with no weird off notes that might need to be covered up. The slight vanilla cream texture from the Vanilla Swirl really brings it all home completing the creamy aspect of the profile.

You often read about how chocolates are super difficult to translate into an e-juice, but you wouldn’t be able to tell that in this recipe.

If you’ve been wanting to take a shot at chocolates, mints or just happen to enjoy those Andes Mints then be sure to give this one a shot.

FLV Creme de Menthe is my favorite single flavor ever by a mile. Looking at the mix I'm wondering how much the mint comes through with 1.5% on top of all the other flavors.

I love mints and curious if you tried some combos that works with the FLV and my guess is it wouldn't F up the other flavors as they are standard. One is FW Creme de Menthe but you push it low around .3% and work your way up. Same deal with INW Natural Mint which IMO is the best mint by a mile. It has a peppermint note to it which would actually be spot on to an Andes Mint, INW Mix Mint isn't used a lot cause it's crazy strong but I think it could work too that would cut through all the cream/vanilla/ Sucralose .

BTW: That recipe looks awesome. Good job dude.
