I've seen a few claims on this sub that nicotine base possibly won't be affected by the vape mail ban, what is the reasoning behind this?
Nicotine is in every technical sense a pharmaceutical product, but in the context of law, there are long standing broad precedents that establish it as a category all its own.
The reason nicotine base may be treated differently is because the market is manufacturers, not consumers, and so, may fly under the radar for a short time. I don't expect this to be the case and have stocked up, but it's possible.
As for what will happen, without question, vaping regulation in the US will become worse long before it will get better. Legislation will ignore science for as long as possible in the interest of tax revenue and lobbyist revenue. And since people who vape represent such a small segment of the population, with politically diverse views unlikely to prioritize vaping as a "single issue," both parties can confidently ignore their interests.
I've corresponded with River Supply, Nude Nicotine & Heartland Vapes personally all within the last 2 weeks in hopes of reporting info crumbs back to others. They've ALL explained how nervous they are, but that the USPS will be announcing more detailed restrictions/ releasing more information on or around March 5th. I would bet that nicotine isn't going to be skipped over, however the truth is that we have to wait a bit longer to really find out what's going to happen.
Even tho nic technically is used for pesticides, I highly doubt that the same suppliers are used. Nicotine used for pesticides doesn't need to be anywhere close to the purity levels that DIY nic needs to be manufactured at. Not to mention that this legislation isn't going to cut off business to business shipments, only business to consumer shipments /: this will effect us vapers & not them. There will hopefully be HiLiq tho, or international vape friends etc
