Help With Solvent Selection
submitted over 4 years ago by InevitableGanache782

Hi, I've been browsing this forum for a while now finally taking the plunge to DIY considering all the bans coming our way. I'm more of a pod vaper I still do a little Jull along with other pod systems. I'm looking at nudenicotine site and going for the custom blend 100 MG nic salt with the argon protection I guess. What's confusing me is the solvent should I go for 100 PG or 100 VG I was planning to put them in a freezer. Thank you for your help.

I’d do PG 100mg/ml. But if you’re doing something like 50mg 50/50, I’d do 50/50 nic. Kind of depends what you’re trying to do. What ratio and nic level are you going to mix?

Who the hell downvoted this? Speak up and tell me why and I’ll explain why 50/50 would be better than 100% PG

You want PG. VG gets really thick when cold and is harder to pour/measure.

And near impossible to ensure it is mixed well after freezing. PG nic is just easier to manage overall.

Always but Nic in PG. easier to mix and handle. Better for most ratios.

Don’t get 50/50. Just get 100% pg nic. Easier to mix and calculate things tbh. I did a 50/50 first and regretted it as soon as I wanted to mix a different ratio. Freeze what you don’t need on hand for mixing. I keep 100ml in a Boston round in the fridge and the rest in my freezer.

Thank you for the replies, I'm thinking probably 50/50 considering most pod juice is recommended at 50/50. I was just under the impression that 100 MG nicotine would stretch further for mixing. Thank you

Get 50/50 100mg/ml nic. What level do you mix?

What level nic do you vape?

Hey thank you guys for all the help, I think I will go with the 100 MG. I can see myself wanting to try different ratios in the future. I've only been vaping for six months so I'm still feeling my way around. Thank you again you people are all awesome.

Hi. You did not answer a relevant question. How much nicotine do you vape? If you mix at +35mg, get VG-based nicotine. If not, you‘ll be mixing higher PG than VG ratios. Flavors are also PG-based. Thickness due to freezing isn’t really an issue because you‘ll always want a working bottle of nicotine at your mixing station and that will be at room temperature. You don‘t take nicotine straight from the freezer to mix with. Just shake everything well and it‘s fine. If you vape lower nicotine mg, then PG-based is fine. If you‘d like help, join the Discord.
