I saw that River Supply has two kinds of Powdered Nicotine. I wrote them last week to ask if either of the powders could be solubilized in PG and used in eliquid. So far I've not heard back from them.
In the thread where River Supply announced their Valentine's Day sale, someone said their Bitartrate Dihydrate (340mg/g) could be used this way.
After that, information is kinda sketchy. Someone offered up a formula that would result in 1 L. But I have no idea if that is the amount of PG needed to dissolve that amount of Nic powder or if he came up with those numbers while aiming for 1 L. (the mg/ml of that L is another matter altogether)
If anyone has anything solid to offer up on this subject before the Valentine's Day sale ends, I'd appreciate it. If the powder isn't an option, I'm gonna have to fill up a friend's freezer with as much as I can afford. (guess I should tell him this, huh?) ;)
NicSelects website has a good write up on nic powder. It actually states one of them a being good for at home diy vape. Is says just shake and vape. I wonder if this isn't where diy will head.
From their site
We make a range of nicotine powders for use in white snus (tobacco free snus) and for DIY home mixing kits (nicotine powders that dissolve in PG or VG) or “twist, shake and vape”. Nicotine powders are also more stable than liquid nicotine bases and provide the same advantages as liquid nicotine salt bases when dissolved in PG or VG vaporising at lower temperatures, with a low pH for a smoother vape experience and better nicotine absorption (hit).
NicSelect Nicotine Salt Powders are base nicotine (alkaline) chemically bounded to a weak acid for a faster and easier absorption of the nicotine by the oral mucosa.
It later down the page says nicotine Bitartrate dihydrate powder is good for diy vape, ortho-salicylate powder as well.
I am seriously considering ordering some. It will for sure have a longer shelf life than in pg. I have to wonder if it will be able to.be accessed and shipped in US should the liquid option not be. It they take it away as well, lozenges, gum, etc would have to not be shipped as well. Then it would essentially become a choice of pissing off big pharm or big tobacco. Hmmm
You can also read about salts on the chemnovatic website. Under Products, click Nic Salts and they list 4 - tartrate is the last one
Don't use bitartrate in e-liquid. It's meant for use in gums and lozenges.
Yeah. Not sure who is giving this information...
Wow, I'm confused. That's two saying it's fine to use Bitartrate Dihydrate in eliquid and two saying it's not. It'd be nice if River Supply would reply to my message.
I searched for information on Nicotine Bitartrate Dihydrate using Duck Duck Go and Google, but I mostly got chemical/pharmacological-looking results. I guess I thought I'd find others that had talked about this before. <shrug>
I just bought a half liter of 250mg, but that's only going to last me around 5 years by my calculations. I'm sure powder is far more stable so I would buy a kilo of the shit if it meant I could vape the rest of my life.
I am so gonna wanna kick myself in my own butt. I have over 10 years worth. I figure by then this will all be figured out, or I can bust open juul pods or similar the dilute to my lower strength, or even go to no nic. I have freebase in the freezer I really don't know what to do with. It is all argon topped, except a 500ml and a few 150 and 120 ml bottles. For the past 2 years everytime I ordered from a place that sold nic I threw a single bottle of their smallest size nic on the order. Hopefully soon. I am hoping the freebase will last and when I get to that I will start to taper. I so would have bought the powder instead if this turns out to be a viable option. I am seriously wondering on if this is a game changer for diy liquids with all the bans. I didn't get anymore of the 250mg. I had a very scary experience with it once where I was afraid my post lady could be poisoned. A bottle broke in shipping. Hiliq. I think. It scared me a lot. I know 100mg can be dangerous too but if figured the lower the better.
Well shit better give my mailman a heads up, I don't need that kind of blood on my hands lol. How do you add argon into the storage bottles?
Do you just spray some bloxygen into the bottle before sealing it up, or do you spray it in the bottle first and then fill with the base?
Find a product made for keep O2 out of wine, paint cans, even some expensive ass nail polish. I have even read for preserving jam. I use one called bloxygen.

Be warned you will think the can is empty cause so light. It isn't. I have used it about 30 uses so far and not empty.
Bitartrate is meant for lozenges and gum not for ejuice. There's another powdered variant that can be used for vape but the name escapes me.
River supply doesn't sell it though. It looks like a process to order it from the sites that do sell it. Like ordering research chems. Have to ask for a quote, and I think they only send it to business addresses but don't quote me on that.
Edit: I'm reading that bitartrate can possible be used in ejuice, just look into it and make sure it's safe before you pull the trigger.

Call them and ask, they should know. And then let us know!
NO ONE TAKE ME AS A QUALIFIED EXPERT ON THIS!!
I am off Monday, that is exactly what I am going to do. I went a little further digging. Look into how nic salts are made. I am thinking the 2 that nic river is selling may be what the smooth and hit salt liquid is made of. I think I know someone to ask sooner. I remember a vape store called kings clouds. They were the first in area to sell in house made nic salts. I remember him saying he likes that he can store the nic salt components in a smaller area. I always just thought he meant because he sold them in 30ml instead of 60ml.
Look up chemnovatic nicotine salt powder as well.
