I've never tried a cactus juice, I'm about to put in my first order and it's the most recommended flavor for a beginner by a long shot? What's so good why's it so versatile if it's odd and kinda seems like it's own thing?
INW Cactus works as a fantastic mouthfeel option. At anything higher than about 1% I get nothing but aloe Vera from it, but keep it around 0.5-0.75% and the flavor is almost nonexistent. At these levels, I get a fantastic wet mouthfeel. A lot of times, especially with mangos and other tropical fruits, I get quite a bit of dryness. Finish up the recipe with 0.75% INW Cactus and it turns that dryness into something mouthwatering
Ok hell yeah definitely going in my order!
I'm in the minority here but I can only use it in accent proportions @ <0.25% otherwise the spicy floral note dominates a mix. Before I found the right usage rate for me I absolutely hated it. YMMV
You should try cucumber too! It adds that juicy/refreshness afternote, I think.
It adds some wetness for sure. I think people exaggerate a bit on it though. Doesn't necessarily give a mouth watering effect (for me anyways) and a lot of times I skip it because its strong and can mess with the profile. Works better with some fruits than others.
In small quantities it provides wetness.
What do you mean by that? Does it have a strong flavor in small quantities or is it easily masked?
Moisture in the mouth feel. Some concentrates are really dry so you need something to bring the moisture back in it. I'd only recommend it with fruit mixes. In small quantities it shouldn't overpower most things but some people are way more sensitive than others. That said it's good as a main flavor too.
Edit: FA Pear will do the same thing but also adds a little sweetness. I use both depending on the recipe.
Everyone has a different palette. I actually use inw cactus at 1-2%. It provides a nice juice texture, which, to me, describes a lingering 'wetness' after exhale. Good flavor either way however going above 2% becomes a bit harsh (maybe astringent?). I use it in pretty much any mix I want a fruity juice feeling from.
Im going to be ordering some new flavors and getting more of some im low on. For anyone who has used prickly pear, had anyone subbed it in grack juice instead of regular inw cactus? I currently have cactus and dragon fruit from inw and use them a lot, but if the prickly pear wood be better or more useful I'll definitely switch it up in my recipes... anybody got any thoughts on that? Id prefer a better tasting cactus and think it might be worth a shot
Bringing this back up. Took the Prickly Victory recipe of INW Cactus & Cap Sweet Guava and since I ordered INW Prickly Pear along with the Sweet Guava finally, I swapped out the normal cactus with this. So far trying it after I mixed it up it's pretty damn good. I'll let it sit for a month or so before I go back to it again , but I have high hopes in this already. Next I'll make one of my other favorites, Grack juice soon and give that some a month and see what I got. I wonder how much better it's going to be. It's definitely got a way better flavor than the normal cactus to me already, and I think I'll make a 30ml just to try on its own... I'll try and post again once I make use of it some more, but figured I'd give my first thoughts...
Because people like it and it’s useful. Just that simple sometimes.
Everyone loves the moist cactus, one of my shake and vape uses cactus sweet guava and jackfruit.
Glorious mouth feel. The king cactus recipe is good. INW dragonfruit does kind of the same thing, imo.
Where can I find this King Cactus recipe?
You can use it in a lot of recipes. I like the flavor itself, so I have some cactus/fruit mixes. I also use it to add 'wetness' to a mix. I have a black tea with lemon and cream recipe and it includes cactus. Without the cactus, the tea is too dry, plus it makes the lemon pop.
