Does anyone remember DIY Digest?
Bull City was kind enough to pass along the entire line of Sobucky Super Aromas so that I could pick some for myself and give away the rest. Being the selfless mod that I am, I only picked 1 to keep and will be passing on the rest to ya’ll.
> They’re all listed in this handy spreadsheet so I can keep track of the ones I’ve already given away.
Entering is pretty simple (Kinda): Anyone who comments in one of the upcoming Weekly Threads (this one, FOTW, Tutorial Tuesday, What are you vaping?, Suggest a Recipe, or a Vendor Review) will get their name added to the hat once for each thread. Anything completely irrelevant to the thread will obviously be ignored. And if you’re around and give out any helpful advice in any other thread on the sub I will happily add your name again. At the end of the week I’ll take all the names and run them through the randomizer to pick out 5 winners. #1 will get first pick of 20 flavors, #2 will get 15, and the remaining 3 will get 10.
> Disclaimer: Shipping is on me if you’re in the US but anyone outside of the US will have to split it with me (or pass) if they win. I'll announce the winners next week.
On to the Highlights...
##January:
-
u/EdibleMalfunction announced the newest addition to the mod team: u/isuamadog who, along with being overqualified for the job, happens to be one of my favorite humans. You may know him if you’ve ever visited our discord server or if you’ve been around the sub on Tuesday.
-
u/-DixxleRoo- continues to post the Notes for Noted which basically distills the hour(ish) long podcast into a few minutes of reading and makes for a handy companion reference/replacement for the show.
-
u/ayyyyycrisp submitted his moderator application for Shitpost Sunday and nearly got the job. This was the best thing to come from those five fateful Sunday’s with the runner-up being u/mysticalbuffalo and their Wild Muskrat Milk recipe.
-
And for Real and Really Good looking recipes we had u/Kittybit8 submit the delectable looking Banana Waffle Trouble. Why haven’t I mixed this already? If I say I’ll review it on the next Digest will I feel publicly accountable or just use that as an excuse to avoid posting another Digest? Tune in next week to find out.
-
Somehow after 200 or so weekly puns u/ID10-T hasn’t given up, as seen with Are you bready for another Flavor of the Week? You Butter be, because here it Crumbs! & Hope this flavor of the Week's inability to run off and get married doesn't leave you feeling Meloncholy
-
u/Kittybit8 and u/isuamadog teamed up for a recipe review thread so epic it needed a table of contents. Dual reviews is a great idea and with 10 recipes covered it provides a lot of detailed insight from two unique perspectives.
- Check out https://link.diyejuice.org/highlights for the rest of the stuff I didn’t cover along with all the shitposts you might have missed.
Thanks for reading and clicking ALL the links above because you definitely did that and I appreciate it...
Good luck with the Giveaway!
2021 just got better. By a lot. You know I’m not even kidding either. Truthfully, my biggest concern for this sub and the community it represents is the merging of two (on-the-surface)diametrically opposite ideals: doing it yourself and sharing knowledge for the community to benefit. The digest highlights the the second so people can be more successful at the first. It has always pained me that participation rarely happens outside of a giveaway. If anyone reading this digest, or any other post, has a thought in their head, they should not keep it to themselves. Chime in and be a part of the conversation. You never know who might benefit from your work, ideas or words! (Apparently including you!).
Again, thanks to the mod team and the sub for the ‘promotion’. I truly stumbled in here knowing nothing and now know enough to help others find their way in this stupid legislative anti-vaping era to free themselves of the powerful addiction to smoking. Game stop shares are cool, but diy and vaping, I’m convinced, saved my life. Thank you all for being a part of that.
This. 100% this. I've been absorbing everything from this sub for months like a sponge. I hope to gain enough knowledge and experience to contribute to the wealth of info on here and to help others in the future. I vaped on and off, dual using for a decade, but diving into DIY has been a key factor in getting me successfully off the stinkies.
Congrats on the mod-dom and thank you, u/isuamadog. Thank you u/Apexified. Thank you u/id10-t. Thank you u/kittybit8. Thank you u/ediblemalfunction and thank you to all the other mods and wonderful contributors. Your selflessness and dedication are saving lives.
I remember DIY Digest. Is was like the easiest way to catch up when I was off reddit for a week.
Bring back Mixing Games dammit!
Oooooo, perfect timing. Just ordered my first bulk VG/PG/nic this weekend and flavors are next!
Oh sweet heavens... DIY Digest you have been missed. The highlight of my week.
About damn time you made a new one u/Apexified
Also thanks for the kind words. When you manage to speak such kind words, I know it’s true and spoken from the heart. I still love/hate you.
I recently picked up SSA Peanut Butter and LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
Everyone on this thread should go save u/id10-t 's post below! Blood, sweat, tears and potentially lethal amounts of caffeine went into its creation.

Seriously, this is the most helpful and fun community I have ever been apart of. I can only find so much time to fall down the rabbit hole here of awesome info, so thank you for the DIY Digest. That way I am at least caught up with the current stuff going on. Thank you to all of the awesome mods, you have made this so much easier for us newbs.
Seriously if your out there and haven't tried any of u/ID10-T mixes. Try them there are some amazing ones. Plus you get some amazing Puns in the names.
There are some bad ones too
I mean i guess I've been lucky not to try the bad ones. But the ones I've tried have been amazing. What ones would you say are bad? because honestly I've been planning to get most of them a try. And ive been tinkering with counter punch to get it to work for me but its still great.
I guess every last one of them has some room for improvement, either by me (now that I have more experience and better ingredients) or someone better at this than I am. But some have a lot more room than others.
I have 108 public recipes on ATF. If you sort by new, I wouldn't recommend going back any further than 69 or so.
I need Flavor notes, like bad... I know I should do my own flavor testing, but I can't seem to find the time to do it and justify the waste of concentrates. Flavor notes help me bypass this so I can judge how I want to use a specific flavor if I decide to make my own mix....
I've been meaning to try ssa scandinavian fruits. It smells incredible, but after reading id10ts notes on it, I'm not really sure what to use alongside it that in a mix that wouldn't cover it up. I don't usually do berry mixes, so I'm not sure what works well with them in general. Anyone have any advice by chance?
Im not familiar with that flavor at all but since its fruit, you could always add cream to it and see how it turns out for a perhaps interesting berries and cream. Orrr maybe mix it into some kind of candy flavor with sc sour gummy candy. ( This is what Id do at least) or mix it with a tea flavor to make a strange berry tea. Im definately gonna have to pick it up though.
Awesome, thanks for your help! Gummy candy sounds really good. Think I'll give that a shot
Youre welcome! Hope it goes well! ( If you want extra gummyness, I use 27 fish at like 1% for a added chewyness (think sour patch) when I use sour gummy candy )
I think Im gonna have to pick up this flavor too and give it a whirl. I love trying weird exotic sounding fruit flavors. Everytime I find one I have to get it. Its lead to a very weird flavor collection lol.
Yeah Diy Digest was super helpful for catching up when away from Reddit. Here is alil something I’ve been vaping on if you’d like to give it a try please feel free. ( Its my take on a gorilla Warfare 270 reloaded ) .270 strawberry cereal Biscuit (INAWERA)1.00% Cereal 27 (CAP).50% Strawberry (Red Touch) (FA)3.00% Strawberry Sweet (CAP)3.00% Sweet Cereal Flakes (TPA)3.00% (Sweetened to taste) Super Sweet (CAP).25%
I’ve been loving cap sweet strawberry mixed with cap banana. Just started diy’ing in the last few months. Best piece of advice was to not be scared and just try it. Also to get a scale. The juice is so much more satisfying than anything that I ever bought, mainly bc I can control the ratios. I’m a bit panicked on whether I need to stock up with nic after what I’ve been reading though. Thoughts?
