Mixing with nic salts
submitted over 4 years ago by XxLXWKEYXx

I’ve been trying to make a decent nic salt recipe for a while now and they all turn out to taste bad. I mix at 50mg and the flavor is really weird. I don’t put sweetener in my juices but I’ve heard the sweetness will counteract the taste of the high mg of nicotine. I have cap super sweet and tfa sweetener. Does sweetener really make nic salt juices better?

Oh look, a question that I can actually answer. I've had to move to germany and leave my mixing gear in the US, so I only mix basic salt recipes anymore. The easy solution is to buy a different nic salt that uses a different acid for the formation of salts, you're likely sensitive to the acid used.

The not easy solution is to use a powerful fruit flavor to overpower the off note you're getting from nicotine. I enjoy papaya and fuji personally when I get some "off" salts.

What kind does nude nicotine use? I’ve always used liquid barn but I’m don’t think I’m sensitive to the acid tho. It’s just the high mg makes the flavor taste off

Nude nicotine is not a good vendor.

You're using more of the nicotine at 50mg/ml. Hence more of the solution that you don't like the taste of.

I've never used NN salts, but you can likely check for an msds or process explanation on nude. They've generally been forthcoming with their lab processes even if their quality has historically been questionable. You may even be able to reach out to them through email to inquire about the acid or acids they use.

I mix 50/50 at 30mg salt nic for an OG Caliburn.

My go to is Extreme Ice around 7.5% and Polar Blast around 0.5%, can add sweetener if you'd like but I wouldn't go above 1%, I usually keep it at 0.5%

The bad thing is most salt devices don't take well to multiple flavors, I believe the consensus around here is 3 "base" flavors max and 1 or 2 additives like menthol or sweetener.

I've had a tough time with mixing for salt as well but you learn eventually what you can do with each flavor.

My first mix was the Mango Pineapple linked below. Its actually pretty good, try it out if you're into fruity stuff

Well I do believe I'm close to perfecting a Red Bull recipe, my fiancee loves it

FW Red Bowl - 10%, TFA Champagne - 2.5%, CAP Super Sweet - 0.5%

You might not need the champagne at all, might be able to up the super sweet. She loves it the way it is so I that's what I've been rolling with

Another one is Cinnamon Red Hots. This one is iffy because the Cinnamon has cracked my plastic pod but I think its because I doubled the Cinnamon percentage to 8. Try this one at your own risk. Someone posted it in another thread, can't remember who or I would mention them

FW Cinnamon Red Hots - 4%, FW Extreme Ice - 4%, Polar Blast - 0.5%

Original guy used WS23. But you could use Polar Blast and WS23 at 0.5% and see how you like it

Sweetener makes it sweeter. If it wasn’t good before, it’ll be not good sweet after.

What can I do to minimize the taste of the high mg of nicotine? I know the recipes are good but the nicotine ruins the taste. It’s fresh nic salts from liquid barn

50mg/ml is way more nicotine than anyone needs. Use less

That’s what I vape with the commercial nic salts and I can’t taste the nic, so obviously I’m missing something

It’s 60/40 bc I’m running it in the Vandy vape berserker v2 rta

ah that makes sense. i only use salt nic in pod devices. i feel like they are better in taste/flavor.

I used to use the novo and the flavor was pretty good. The berserker v2 is specially made for tight or loose mtl bc it has a bunch of different airflow inserts from really right to loose

River Supply smooth salts may work, I've never used it above 25mg though. Can't get it anymore because they won't ship to NY so I bought a lot (too much) of regular salt nic from LNW that's good, but noticably a little harsher. So comparing just those 2, I'd say the River Smooth Salts would cut down on the nic taste for you.
