As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a category of flavor and its many uses. And it's also to have FUN!
Post recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using that flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic.
This week, this is also where you can comment to win the Tobacco Flavor Pack ($70 value!) from Flavorah.
This pack includes: Arabian Tobacco, Cavendish, Classic Cigarette, Commercial Cigarette, Connecticut Shade, Cured Tobacco, Kentucky Blend, Native Tobacco, Oriental Tobacco, Pucker Tobacco, Red Burley, Sweet & Smokey Tobacco, Sweet Cigarette , Tatanka Tobacco, Turkish Tobacco, and Virginia Tobacco.
#This week's flavor is... DESERT TOBACCO!!!
How did that get to be the FOTW?
It was requested!
>If something you want to see be the Flavor of the Week isn't listed among upcoming FOTWs, please take this opportunity and comment to request one that interests you (or send me a PM to do that).

In case you missed it, last week's flavor was Flavors of the Year 2020
#Next week's flavor will be: Cantaloupe
After that?

#Desert with one "s." That's not a typo.
The flavors I have lined up for this include: FE Desert Ship, FA Desert Ship, HS Desert Ship, INW Desert Ship, INW Desert Voyager, FW Desert Llama, FLV Arabian, INW Arabesque, INW Arabic, INW Pharoah, and INW Pyramid.
Edit: And HS Arabic
No 7 leaves? Has a delightful clove note.
Flavour Art, Flavor West, and Inawera all have 7 Leaves flavors. There's also SC Seven, SC Seven Stars, FE Mild Seven, and HiLiq Mild Seven. Should we have "This flavor of the week is brought to you by the number seven?"
I've vaped on and off for years and occasionally dabbled in DIY, but never successfully smashed the ash for good. I started dual using again in September/October. Finally decided to stop dragging my feet and have been smoke free since 12/20/20. I've just taken the headlong plunge back into DIY as well. Got a bunch of Tobaccos (mostly FLV and a few TPA & FA) that should be arriving later today and I can't wait to get mixin! 10-15 mostly tobacco recipes from ATF and ELR on my schedule for the weekend.
I must say that u/isuamadog's post over here helped massively with my order decisions. The FLV Arabian and Turkish are two of the baccies that I didn't grab so I'm looking forward seeing what comes of this FOTW and the first week of March, too.
Just want to say that you guys and gals are awesome and have helped motivate me to quit. I look forward to joining the community.
ID10-t ir right. You ARE awesome and I’ll tell you my reason for thinking so: I do stuff here on the Reddit hoping that it will help someone find their footing and stay off the stinkies, save them money, and promote healthier decisions. What makes you awesome is I rarely actually hear how it’s helped someone so I never get a better idea of what actually does help. So thank you, for being here and sharing!
If you EVER want help in any way shape or form or just wanna talk flavors, you can always pop in the discord and find me (or just ping me here) about 24/7.
Also, I’m dying to know what you got! And which recipes?!?
Oh boy. My knowledge of tobaccos is whatever Dog sends me to vape and I don’t even bother remembering which ones he uses.
better than not bothering to try them. Sadly, you are being introduced to them by my sorry 80% there's. I will endeavor to make sure you aren't horrified.
I’ll try anything twice, big boy. I’ll start getting the hand of how some of them taste eventually. My brain is just full of dessert fruits and cream variants that tobacco go in and out.
Is there anything hidden in the picture behind the fun link? I can only see an empty desert
I have been staying away from tobacco type flavors since I was always afraid of it triggering something inside of me into a relapse with the stinkies.
I like how people have shifted some of these tobacco recipes into the dessert (not desert) column which is my jam.
I'm not sure what exactly counts as a desert tobacco, but FA Desert Ship is a classic.
That being said I'm not really a massive fan of it myself.
I also have FLV Arabian Tobacco, but I've only used it a couple times. It's better as an accent than a main tobacco imo.
This week will be interesting for sure.
Only tobacco I've tried so far is JF RY4 Double, and I can't really say that I enjoy it. I guess tobacco just isn't for me
Tobacco, as a topic, is really broad. I've had a few RY4s that really bugged me, like a strange feeling in the back of my sinuses that I couldn't shake.
When they're done right (and what that is to each person is obviously quite different) they can be awesome. I might point to AlfredPudding's Cabin as the perfect litmus test for non tobacco vapers to see if they want to fall down the rabbit hole.
I was never in to tobacco flavours untill I got in to DIY. Cause so many commercial tobacco eliquids are awful, but I have a few flavorah tobaccos that are amazing, although I'm not a good enough mixer yet to do what I want to do with them. RY4 double was what made me wanna venture further down the tobacco route!
Flv arabian was in like 60% of my mixes this year. So here’s a few:
last one made with u/mixman0g. Gonna figure out a more cohesive version of it eventually.
Magistra is good stuff. I just prodded you to work on it, all you dawg. :)
Arab Mom's Butter Cookie is on my mix list. I should have tried it already, but I'll get to it.
Arab Mom's Butter Cookie looks like something I very much want to try
I hope you do. I had fun making it. Not sure on how long that wf needs to steep.
I don't have a single tobacco flavor in my stash. I think perhaps dessert tobaccos would be more appealing to me though
> I think perhaps dessert tobaccos would be more appealing to me
FYI - it's DESERT tobacco not DESSERT tobacco (one S not two). Think Camel cigarettes, not sweet stuff after dinner.
this is a top notch flavour pack, red burley and kentucky blend are part of my favourite flavours! Mississippi is very nice, also Bourbon Chocolate Tobacco and RIP Cardinal
Tried one desert tobacco very early after transitioning to vaping and wasn’t impressed. Maybe I get interested again after this episode.
You got anymore of them s’s?
Well...out of this week’s subject matter, I’ve only got FA Desert Ship. Can’t wait to hear what the Noted gang has to say about the rest of ‘em.
Y’all add another “s” though, and I’ll get really excited. I mixed another 6 30’s of Obsidian today and some of this:

If I win this week, I would immediately make Cabin upon receipt. And probably give away a lot of it to interested mixers on here.
That damn camel FUN-pic now has this song lodged in my head. Thanks Dave, dammit.
I actually don't know whether or not I have any desert tobaccos... I suspect I have none.
The only flavors I have/ have tried from u/ID10-T 's clarification post are INW Desert Ship & FA Desert Ship. I can definitely see how people could love OR hate them lol, I know that's not very helpful but they're strong unique flavors. Very clove-esque. Like no other tobacco I've personally tried (I have a decent range of tobaccos for a total beginner as my fiance is a tobacco-only vaper). I didn't like FA DS until I started mixing it with other strong heavy flavors like chocolates, mochas/ coffee/ espresso. INW DS was fairly similar to FA DS, slightly weaker & more "anise-y"/licorice-y. Both are very clove-esque. I hate black licorice/ anise, so I couldn't handle either as a single flavor, but mixed with other deep, complex flavors I started to enjoy them!
Gotta find some recipes to use these in next, as I've mainly been working on SFTs to get to know my stash. As a beginner I tend to only mix 2-3 flavors tops to see how they play together. I probably won't rebuy FA DS nor INW DS if they ever run out & instead want to try INW Arabesque & Arabic. I'm falling down the tobacco rabbit hole!
It's a deep hole
What constitutes a "desert" tobacco? I guess I'll find that out on Monday anyway but I was reading the post as dessert instead of desert tobaccos I got a few flavorah tobaccos.. Kentucky blend is absolutely amazing. I just sniff the bottle every now and then.. it's luuuuuush.
It’s just an excuse to try some tobaccos in a group that’s not too big but not too small. A few brands have “Desert Ship” flavors, there’s some Arabic and Arabian etc. Put them together and it makes a category that’s good enough for Flavor of the Week. I don’t know what if anything they really have in common yet.
I realized I definitely need to get into tobaccos. Whenever I’m drinking which is a lot these days lol, the fruits and bakeries don’t really hit the spot. If anyone has a recipe similar to vanilla black and milds that would be awesome. As always looking forward to the show.
