The drop box link works fine. And thank you for putting the effort in noting it down.

I am not a fan of using drop box. Sometimes I just want to look quick for a specific flavor without going to the flavor facts sheet. With the notes external in a Link they will not show up in the search.

PART 1:

Noted Ep. 181: FLAVOR OF THE QUARTER (ft. EdibleMalfunction)

(Ranked in categories as so many flavours this week)

ID10-T didn't get a lot of time with the flavours as he had so many (94 in total). On his Reddit post he called it his 'first impressions', rather than reviews as he didn't have time to test at different concentrations, steep times etc.

ID10-T tested everything in the middle of the % range recommended on Chefs website with a 6-8 day steep. Emily tested everything at 2%.

Bad:

SSA Creme Brulee: One of the worst flavours ID10-T has ever tried! Emily thought it was pretty bad. Incredibly burnt tasting and chemically. Tastes like burning chemicals. Horrible. They should be ashamed to sell it to people! ID10-T tested at 3.75%. Emily tested at 2%.

6.08

SSA Dark Blackberry: Not as bad a FA Blackberry, but that's not saying much! The second worst blackberry ID10-T has ever tried. Extremely strong off note of granny's perfume. ID10-T tested at 2.25%. Some people have said they don't think it that bad at 0.5%. Maybe tested to high?

7.35

FM Blackberry is the one to get. It's really good.

SSA Cottage Cheese: ID10-T thought it was like sweet cream with moldy, rotten rhubarb. Rotten and astringent at the same time. EdibleMalfunction thought it was like plastic-y, rancid foot cheese. There's something rancid, but also some sort of higher, pastic-y astringency. Very strange and unpleasant. ID10-T tested at 1.25%

9.12

SSA Almond: Intensely plastic-y, new vinyl shower curtain off note. VT Almond has the same issue. ID10-T tested at 2%.

10.16

SSA Butter: ID10-T thought it was very vomit-y. Really sweet. Does taste like butter, but also very butiric. Vomitus sugar butter.
ID10-T tested at 2.5%.

10.54

SSA Lemon Cheesecake: Emily ranked it in the 'above average' category. The lemon is soft and base-y, but liked how sweet, creamy and DAAP-y it is. ID10-T got lemon meringue pie filling with fake movie theatre butter. ID10-T tested at 2.25%. Emily tested at 2%.

12.49

SSA Rum with Honey: Cheeba also ranked it as 'bad'. Cheeba thought the honey had the musky, cat piss off note common with honeys. Not much rum. You expect rum to be either spicy or sweet and boozy, didn't get any of those elements. Just the musky honey flavour. ID10-T thought the muskiness was different from other honeys. It was kind of fungal. Overall pretty gross. ID10--T tested at 3%

14.33

SSA Ice Candies: Chemically, nail polish-ish, sweet blueberry-ish candy with a little koolada on the finish. Like a bad copy of INW Blue Dwarf with koolada. ID10-T tested at 3.5%

15.22

SSA Blueberry: ID10-T and EdibleMalfunction thought it was bad. While Emily ranked it in the 'best' category. EM thought it was like iced, blue cough medicine. More of a generic 'blue' flavour, rather than actually blueberry. Got no blueberry. ID10-T also thought it was medicinal. Got some berry, but not really blueberry. Like a wild berry medicine. Emily found it very natural tasting. Bold and full flavoured. Gets deep with a steep. She didn't get anything medicinal. ID10-T tested at 2.25%. Emily tested at 2%.

15.54

SSA Summer Fruits: Supposed to be a mix of cherry, raspberry, strawberry and wild berries. Tastes like a raspberry peach. Has plastic off note. Sweet, but has lingering plastic. ID10-T tested at 3%.

17.14

SSA Strawberry Milk (aka Milky Strawberry): Emily ranked it in 'above average'. The first time Cheeba tried it he didn't like it. But after trying it again he thought it was OK, fairly average. But could make a better version from scratch. ID10-T thought it was butiric and puke-y, even after 6-8 days steep. Made him feel ill. Emily and Cheeba didn't get any butiric. Cheeba thought it had a sharper note, but it leant towards the tartness of the strawberry. Rather than giving any sourness to the milk. Emily thought it was decadent. ID10-T tested at 2.75%. Emily tested at 2%.

17.55

SSA Malaysian Mango: A lot of really strong peel. Tastes like Pine Sol mixed with pesticides. Nearly un-vapeable. Not pleasant. ID10-T tested at 2.5%.

20.11

SSA Guava: Cheeba ranked it as 'above average'. ID10-T thought it had a mustard off note, like a dry mustard powder top note. Got a nice, fresh, tart and sweet guava underneath the mustard. Cheeba didn't get any mustard. Thought it could be a little bit more punchy and flavourful. But captures the flavour of a guava pretty well. Slightly juicy. Got nice sweetness and a little bit funkiness. ID10-T tested at 2.25%.

20.40

SSA Mocca Coffee: EM ranked as bad. Tried it as a SNV and wasn't very stong. After steeping 6-7 days vaping it made him sick. Got burnt, almost rancid tasting coffee. ID10-T ranked it as 'below average' as it was pretty burnt tasting. Didn't get either of the most common off notes associated to coffees, burnt popcorn and skunky-ness. It's not a burnt popcorn, just burnt. Maybe tested at too high of a %? ID10-T tasted at 2.25%. But people have said it's much better at 0.5%

22.27

SSA Milky Caramel Cream: Emily ranked it as 'bad' as she got puke-y off note and a weird sharpness. Has a dark sweetness, but cant get passed the sharp pukey-ness. ID10-T ranked it as 'below average' as he got fake movie theatre butter. ID10-T and Emily tested at 2%

PART 2:

Noted Ep. 181: FLAVOR OF THE QUARTER (ft. EdibleMalfunction)

Below Average:

SSA Ripe Mango: ID10-T is picky about mangos. It's not terrible. Can tell it's a mango. But tastes like it's cooked and has some peel. Has a bit of Pine Sol in the top notes. The sweetness in the base is too dark. Just doesn't come together well. ID10-T tested at 1%.

24.59

SSA Natural Raspberry: Emily ranked 'above average'. ID10-T thought it had a funky, savoury aspect. Thought it was like a raspberry cooked in chicken broth. But that's the reason Emily ranked it higher, that savoury note gave it some depth. She didn't get any chicken broth. ID10-T tested at 1.75%. Emily tested at 2%.

25.35

SSA Chocolate: ID10-T thought he'd tested most of the flavours too high, but thought he'd under flavoured Chocolate. At 1% it's very light and soft. Would probably need to crank it up. A bit Tootsie Roll-ish, has a bit of cherry-like sweetness and a weird spice note. Maybe it comes together at a higher %? But seems like it would just turn into a cherry-ish Tootsie Roll. ID10-T tested at 1%.

26.20

SSA Ripe Cherry: Some people like this flavour. Emily ranked it 'above average'. ID10-T got a little bit of a plastic off note with a good cherry underneath it. Emily didn't get any plastic, just a little sharpness. She ranked it above average because of the lack of off notes, rather than it being a really great flavour. ID10-T and Emily did 2%.

27.20

SSA Black Tea: ID10-T and EM thought it tasted like dirt. Sweet dirt. ID10-T tested at 1.25%

28.23

SSA Creamy Pistachio: ID10-T really liked it, but because he likes the combo of pistachio and lime. Ranked so low as it's called 'Creamy Pistachio' you wouldn't be looking for lime, and has a strong, distinctly lime off note. Tastes like dipping pistachio in lime sherbet. Cheeba thought it was such a good flavour. They nailed the creamy pistachio. ID10-T tested at 1.5%

29.03

SSA Cinnamon Apple Pie: Cheeba ranked it so low as it was pretty scratchy on the throat so a little hard to vape. ID10-T didn't find it scratchy. Didn't get any cinnamon. Just a faint spice note. Which may have been cinnamon, may have been apple peel. Cheeba got a little cinnamon at 3%, but it didn't have enough flavour overall. FLV Apple Filling is a better option. Cheeba tested at 3%. ID10-T did 1.5%.

30.41

SSA Butter Cream: Emily really liked it. Thought it was really DAAP-y. Smooth, rich, creamy. ID10-T didn't disagree with Emily, but thought it was also sour and butiric. Got a spoiled milk off note. It was pretty faint and could possibly be covered in a mix. Very sweet. Emily didn't get any sourness at all. ID10-T tested at 3.25%. Emily tested at 2%.

32.04

SSA Natural Wild Strawberry: Cheeba ranked it as 'average' to 'below average'. Cheeba thought it was pretty bright. Almost came across as peachy. Could tell it was a berry, but not explicitly a strawberry. ID10-T didn't think it tasted much like a strawberry. Wouldn't have been able to guess it was a strawberry in a blind taste test. There's something a little green. Has a bit of wintergreen-ish cooling on the finish. ID10-T tested at 2.25%

33.05

SSA Purple Plum: Cheeba also ranked 'below average'. ID10-T got an under ripe plum and a cooked plum at the same time. Top note is peel-y and too prominent, a little chemically. The body is dark and sweet, tastes like a baked plum. Don't know what you could use it for. Cheeba also got a bit of a perfume-y note in the skin. ID10-T tested at 2%

34.24

SSA Apricot: Tastes like a real dried apricot, but also has a touch of plastic. Not the worst apricot - that would be VT Apricot, which is an unvapeable dumpster fire of plastic nastiness. But has a little touch of plastic. There's better apricots - CAP, FLV in particular. TFA is a bit weird, but still tasty, kind of candied. ID10-T tested at 1.25%

35.37

SSA Ripe Banana: Emily ranked as 'average'. She thought there are better bananas, but it's a fairly good one. Runty with a green banana edge. INW Banana is almost identical. LB is similar - Runts with green banana. FA Banana has green banana edge, but isn't Runty. Better than TFA Ripe Banana. ID10-T tested at 1.75%

36.47

SSA Butterscotch: Emily ranked it as 'awesome'. She thought it was really dark, rich and creamy. ID10-T thought it was like butterscotch made with fake movie theatre butter. ID10-T tested at 2.25%. Emily tested a 2%.

37.50

SSA Caramel: Emily, ID10-T and EM agreed. Tastes burnt. Really dark. Beyond brown sugar levels of dark. Like burnt brown sugar. ID10-T tested at 2.25%. Emily tested a 2%.

39.18

SSA Caramel Biscuit: Emily thought it tasted more burnt than SSA Caramel. Got an almost roasted, coffee note. ID10-T thought it tasted less burnt than SSA Caramel. Apparently supposed to be a layer of caramel and a layer of chocolate on biscuit/cookie(like millionaires shortbread?) ID10-T didn't get any chocolate. What Emily tasted as coffee may be the chocolate? Emily tested at 2%. ID10-T tested at 2.25%.

40.11

SSA Crisp Waffle: Not a waffle, but a crunchy waffle cone. Emily ranked at 'below average'. Everybody else ranked as 'awesome'. Emily found it very dark and got bit of an overly roasted, coffee type note. 2% may be too high? Although Cheeba and EM did 2-3% and they really liked it. Cheeba thought 3% was bit too high though. Emily may be sensitive to that roasted, coffee note? It has a griddle note to it, like it's been cooked on a waffle iron. That griddle note is a little dirty or earthy. Could maybe replace INW Waffle in Duchie recipe - Stroopwaffle. Emily and EM tested at 2%. ID10-T tested at 1.25%. Cheeba tested at 3%.

41.10

SSA Shortbread Biscuit: Emily ranked 'above average'. ID10-T ranked it 'below average' as he thought it tasted a bit undercooked and flour-y. Like it hadn't been mixed well before cooking so get pockets of uncooked flour. Some sweet and buttery cookie, but mixed with uncooked flour. Emily didn't get any uncooked flour. She got a crispy, dark cookie. Not very sweet. But has a nice bit of buttery-ness. Thought the dry, crisp notes were especially good.
ID10-T tested at 2.75%. Emily tested a 2%.

42.39

SSA Fruit Hard Candy: Not specifically hard candy, but definitely candy. More like a soft candy texture than hard candy. ID10-T got a very slight plastic-y off note. Which was kind of unpleasant as a SF. But could be covered by a bold, heavy fruit top note flavour. Couldn't pick out any specific fruit, just a little citrus and a little berry. Like a whole pack of Starburst that had been melted down and watered down. But wouldn't be a bad candy base. ID10-T tested at 2.25%.

43.36

SSA Ice Cream Vanilla: Emily and Cheeba loved it, both ranked between 'above average' to 'awesome'. Emily thought it's one of the better ice cream flavours available. Cheeba and Emily thought it's better than LB Vanilla Ice Cream. ID10-T did not agree with that statement! He did think it had the perfect, accurate, lingering vanilla ice cream finish that stays long after you exhale. Really great vanilla note. But it's like the vanilla is a rich vanilla, but the ice cream is more soft and fluffy. It's not heavy or thick enough. Cheeba and Emily thought it had plenty of richness and heaviness. Both thought it was heavier and richer than LB. Similar to LB, has similar buttery density. Emily thought it was full flavoured at 2%. Cheeba didn't get any off notes or anything at 4%. But thought that much might not be necessary? ID10-T thought it would be really good as a layer in a recipe for the great vanilla ice cream finish it has. But paired with thicker, richer ice cream flavours, like LB. ID10-T tested at 1.75%. Emily tested a 2%. Cheeba tested at 4%.

45.03

SSA Candy Cuckoo: Described as hard candy with creamy alcohol. EM didn't like it as thought it had fake chocolate type note. ID10-T thought it tastes like Cocoa Puffs cereal with Irish cream. Didn't get any hard candy at all. Doesn't have any cereal grain, but the chocolate is identical to that in Cocoa Puffs. ID10-T tested at 2%

I get a "refused to connect" message on the dropbox link.

As far as which way do we prefer? If you're graciously willing to do all this great work each week, which ever way is best for you will work for us.

by -DixxleRoo-almost 5 years agoCommunity MVP

Is it still not working? If not I'll post it as a comment. It's no bother. Someone else said it worked fine 'now'. So wasn't sure if it still an issue. I thought people might prefer it as a Dropbox link. But if some people can't access it then it's no good.

I'm new to using Dropbox, so this might be a really stupid question. But do i have to be connected to the internet on my end for people to be able to access it?

Dropbox is a cloud service, you don't need to be connected on your end for folks to access it.

My apologies Dixie .... I cannot connect to dropbox on anything right now for some reason. I think my firewall is being a d*ck . Have to check into that.

PART 3:

Noted Ep. 181: FLAVOR OF THE QUARTER (ft. EdibleMalfunction)

Average:

SSA Candy Floss: EM got no flavour at all. ID10-T thought it tasted like it was just ethyl maltol. But apparently the owner of SSA said it doesn't contain any ethyl maltol. Tastes like spun sugar, like cotton candy. But at the same time not really sweet. Also dry, thin, top heavy. Could be a good additive. But if you want to vape cotton candy there are better options. Like LA, FLV which actually have some flavour to them. ID10-T tested at 2%

51.04

SSA Cocoa: Like dark chocolate that's a little stale. A little mild fruitiness to the sweetness. Nothing glaringly wrong with it. ID10-T tested at 1%

52.24

SSA Sweet Coffee: Sweet coffee, but mildly dirty. That mild dirtiness is a bit like how clay smells. But doesn't taste like skunk spray or burnt popcorn. ID10-T tested at 1%

52.44

SSA Sweet Watermelon: Emily ranked in 'best in class'. She thought it's like MB Big Watermelon but bigger! Robust and flavourful. Got bright notes, deep notes. A very bold, very flavourful, full watermelon flavour. ID10-T got a really nice candy watermelon top note, but the base is just dry and sweet, not much flavour. Dry, almost ot the point of being like watermelon cotton candy. Would be good layered in a recipe. But not as the only watermelon in a mix. ID10-T and Emily tested at 2%

53.52

SSA Orange Juice: (Not to be confused with SSA Juicy Orange) Like orange slice gummy candies with a little lemon. Tastes similar to a lot of orange flavours. ID10-T tested at 1.5%

56.01

SSA Natural Lemon: Emily ranked 'above average'. Liked how bright and tart it is. Plus it doesn't fade. She didn't rank it higher as found it a little astringent. But it's hard to find a lemon that is so bright and tart. ID10-T got a little Pledge-y note. ID10-T tested at 1.5%. Emily tested at 2%.

56.54

SSA Juicy Lemons: Emily ranked as good. Tested after 4 days. Ranked it higher than Natural Lemon as it wasn't so astringent. ID10-T tested after 6-8 days, thought it had faded somewhat. Pretty bland, flat. ID10-T tested at 3.5%. Emily tested at 2%.

57.37

lemons usually fade after about a week.

SSA Marscapone Cream: Kind of chalky and bland. Not gross. Not a lot of flavour. HS Italian Cream is a much better option for marscapone. ID10-T tested at 1.5%

58.37

SSA Classic Oat Flakes: ID10-T ranked as 'best in class'. Emily ranked above average. Not much fun as a SF. But a useful component in a recipe. There's not another flavour out there that tastes like dry, uncooked oats. Really accurate. Perfect for an oatmeal cream pie, oatmeal cookie, no-bake cookie etc. WF Oats and Cream Cookie needs more of an oat-y flavour, which this would be perfect for. EM got off notes at 2%. Use around 0.5%. ID10-T tested at 0.5%. Cheeba did 3%, which he thought was too high. EM did 2%.

59.26

SSA Grapefruit: Cheeba ranked 'above average'. Liked it a lot. Thought it was one of the better grapefruits. Really juicy. Sweeter than an actual grapefruit. ID10-T thought it was pleasant enough. Nothing wrong with it. But middle of the road and there are better options for grapefruits. Although better than CAP Grapefruit as has more body. Would be great for a grapefruit candy or soda. Or for sweetening up another more natural grapefruit. ID10-T tested at 1.5%.

1.01.46

SSA Ripe Pear: Emily and ID10T ranked 'above average' because of the texture. Really nails the mealy texture of a pear. ID10-T thought it was like FA Pear, but less juicy. Sweeter than FA. But much less juicy. Wouldn't use it as the only pear in a pear recipe, but would definitely use it in conjunction with other pear flavours. Most pears are a little bit thin. but this fills in what they're lacking. Has a good fullness and deepness. The only other pear that really nails the texture to the same degree is FLV Pear, and it tastes gross. You'd use FLV at a low % for the texture, this would work in the same way. ID10-T tested at 3%. Emily tested at 2%

1.03.01

SSA Ripe Strawberry: Emily and Cheeba ranked as 'above average'. Emily thought it was very robust and full. A very well rounded, good, natural strawberry. Has good depth that not a lot of other strawberries have. It's very ripe and very red. Would be good used with other strawberries, particularly a brighter, more punchy strawberry, to provide texture and depth. Cheeba thought it wasn't as punchy as he'd want, which is why he didn't rank it any higher than 'above average'. But is a really good strawberry, almost rivaling INW Shisha Strawberry. But INW SS is a bit bolder. Cheeba thought it was better than TFA Strawberry Ripe, CAP Sweet Strawberry, maybe JF Sweet Strawberry. ID10-T ranked it as 'average' as there's absolutely nothing wrong with it, but there's so many other better strawberries. Although it is darker than most strawberries in a good way. ID10-T tested at 2.5%. Emily tested at 2%.

1.04.57

SSA Borneo Vanilla: Emily and EM ranked as 'average'.EM thought it was a decent vanilla bean vanilla, but nothing special. ID10-T ranked as 'above average' only because it was more interesting than the average vanilla. it tastes good and preferred it to all the other SSA vanillas. But FLV Vanilla Bean exists, so it's kind of irrelevant. If you have FLV VB you don't need this.
ID10-T tested at 2.75%.

1.07.09

SSA Classic Vanilla: Boring. Just an average vanilla. So basic. Subtly creamy, mild, lightly sweet. Not interesting in any way.
ID10-T tested at 1.75%.

1.07.58

SSA Vanilla Sugar: Emily ranked as 'above average'. She liked the vanilla note and where it sat on the palate. No other flavour that does what this does. ID10-T could see using it in a mix. But as a SF didn't find it particularly exciting. It's doing a lot of things. Starts off with the brighter vanilla, then dark, almost brown sugar, sweetness, then get a good malty note. No off notes. Tasted good. Smooth. ID10-T tested at 2.75%. Emily tested at 2%

1.08.14

SSA Sweet Yogurt: Emily ranked as 'above average'. Really loved it. Rich and creamy, smooth, sweet. Like a commercial, Danone type yoghurt. Not chalky. ID10-T thought it was very chalky. Agreed it was like a Danone style yoghurt. Similar to CAP Sweet Yogurt, which he also finds chalky. But both thought SSA is better than CAP as it's sweeter. ID10-T tested at 2.5%. Emily tested at 2%

1.09.35

SSA Sweet Cream: Probably the sweetest sweet cream ID10-T has tried. Has an interesting darkness, like there's some brown sugar or caramel. Good range. Brighter cream on top. The base is thick, rich, touch of buttery-ness. Hits the profile. But it's just another sweet cream flavour. ID10-T tested at 2.5%.

PART 4:

Noted Ep. 181: FLAVOR OF THE QUARTER (ft. EdibleMalfunction)

Average Continued:

SSA Thai Pineapple: Cheeba ranked it as 'average'. Thought it was a good pineapple. Hits all the notes. But not quite as juicy as INW Pineapple. Not quite as sweet as CAP. Although ID10-T and EM thought it was definitely sweeter than CAP. EM ranked it as 'best in class'. Sweeter than CAP. Juicy. Missing the acidic bite that fresh pineapple should have. The description say it has 'an exotic twist'. But not sure what that means. ID10-T ranked as 'awesome' because it's extremely flavourful, very sweet. A lot of pineapples taste like candy. But SSA is very natural tasting. But could use more citrus-y bite. Not that juicy. At 3% he got a tiny onion-y edge. But could be easily covered in a mix as it's so faint. Also gets a little bit of onion from RF Pineapple SC an HS Pineapple. Doesn't get any onion from INW Pineapple, VT Sugarloaf Pineapple, CAP Golden Pineapple. ID10-T tested at 3%.

1.11.31

FA Pineapple is very onion-y. Tastes more like onion than pineapple.

INW Pineapple is juicy, but thin.

According to ID10-T VT Sugarloaf has a little too much of the citrus-y bite for him.

FLV Pineapple has a weird banana note

CAP Golden Pineapple tastes a bit like stale pineapple chunks.

SSA Cornish Cream: Emily also ranked as 'average'. Delightfully mediocre. Kind of bland. A little butter, vanilla and caramel. Like a light whipped cream. Whipped cream or marshmallow-y texture. It's ok. ID10-T tested at 2.75%. Emily tested at 2%.

1.15.38

SSA Pitaya Dragonfruit: EM ranked lower than average. He thought it was really vegetal, like cactus. But not sure if he'd actually want to vape that. Dragonfruit in vaping is usually that white gummy bear type flavour. But doesn't taste like real dragonfruit at all. ID10-T thought SSA's dragonfruit tastes more like the real fruit. But dragonfruit isn't all that tasty. It's not particularly exciting. More of a textural thing and has barely any flavour. ID10-T tested at 1.25%

1.16.18

SSA Raspberry Blackberry Lemonade: A pleasant enough berry flavour. Don't really get any lemonade. Don't even get raspberry and blackberry. It's more like a sweetened boysenberry. Chefs website description says it contains 'fresh mint'. But didn't get any mint or cooling. ID10-T tested at 2.25%

1.17.46

SSA Melon: Emily ranked above average. A little less sweet and not as candy-ish as FLV Wild Melon. But she thought it was equally good. ID10-T thought the melon tasted pretty awesome and liked how it wasn't rind-y. No off notes. Tastes like cantaloupe and honeydew mixed together. It's ripe and very sweet. The only issue was that it's a little dry for a melon. Want a melon to be really juicy. Could mix it with something juicy and make it awesome. ID10-T tested at 2.25%. Emily tested at 2%

1.18.38

SSA Ice Cream: ID10-T didn't rank it any higher as it's a little dry. Almost like astronaut ice cream. Very sweet. A little airy. Lacks custard-y richness. ID10-T tested at 2.5%

1.19.47

SSA Magagascar Vanilla: EM also ranked it as 'average'. ID10-T thought it was more interesting than SSA Classic Vanilla. But it's also a little boozy. Like actual vanilla extract with alcohol in it. Full bodied, really dark, malty vanilla. Lingering vanilla extract taste. Boozy-ness may be ok if using in a drink recipe or with alcohol flavours ID10-T tested at 3%

1.20.40

SSA Bubblegum: Heard that a lot of people liked it. Definitely tastes like bubblegum. Is more flavourful than a lot of other bubblegum flavours, which taste like they've already been chewed. Really is bold. Is just not any juicier than the average bubblegum flavour. A bit dry. ID10-T also got a little hint of a clove-ish tinge every few puffs. ID10-T tested at 2.75%

1.21.35

SSA Peanut Butter: Emily and EM ranked as 'average'. Nothing wrong with it, just average. Cheeba and ID10-T ranked 'above average'. Thought it did a good job with the creaminess. It's creamier and sweeter than many other PB flavours. Definitely has a roasted peanut note. Also has some peanut skin which is why it wasn't ranked any higher. But that skin note isn't as prominent as FLV Peanut Butter. It's the same skin note as FLV, but a lot more toned down. Cheeba thought it may be on of the better PBs he's tried. TFA Peanut Butter does a pretty good job. But SSA feels a bit more natural. It would be perfect if it just didn't have that peanut skin note. ID10-T tested at 1.75%

1.22.53

FLV Peanut Butter has a prominent peanut skin note.

PART 5:

Noted Ep. 181: FLAVOR OF THE QUARTER (ft. EdibleMalfunction)

Above Average:

SSA Green Tea: Has a floral note, but it's not as strong as in other green tea flavours. Doesn't have anything else wrong with it. ID10-T thought it was better than FE Green Tea as the floral note is more toned down. FE GT tastes a lot like a jasmine, dandelion floral note. SSA is sweet, has a little citrus. TFA and FA Green Tea are nasty. FLV Green Tea has a little minty-ness which is a bit weird. So do you want dandelion (FE) or minty-ness (FLV)?! But not as good as FLV Esai Tea. 1.24.26

SSA Golden Apple: A fairly standard double apple flavour. Red apple flesh with a little green apple skin that's a bit more tart. Sweet. juicy, full flavoured. No off notes. Has a lot of nice flavour. A lot of apple flavours are bland or have off notes. ID10-T tested at 1.25%

1.25.57

SSA Baked Apple: Quite a lot like PUR Country Apple. Just get FLV Apple Filling! But if you want a cooked apple without the spice FLV wouldn't be a good option. Has a bit of a peel note. Like a baked apple with the peel left on. Does taste cooked. ID10-T tested at 2.5%

1.26.52

SSA Dessert Chocolate: Chocolate cake. Like a Ding Dong without the cream filling. Not absolutely amazing. It's not very moist or rich. Doesn't taste like an expensive chocolate cake. Get the cake taste, but not the cake-y texture. But compared to a lot of other choc cake flavours it's definitely above average. Could add some VT Sweet Cream and you'd pretty much have a Ding Dong. ID10-T thought it was better than FW Creamy Chocolate. But likes MB Creamy Cake a bit more, it's a bit more flavourful and has some cream. But SSA may be more flavourful at a higher %? ID10-T tested at 1%

1.27.41

SSA Ripe Coconut: Not sun tan lotion-y. Not as sweet and creamy as you'd usually want in a coconut flavour. More like natural coconut flesh. Kind of thin. Nothing really off about it besides it having a little citrus-y kind of brightness.
ID10-T tested at 1.75%

1.29.21

SSA Compote Cherry: Cheeba and Emily ranked as 'above average'. Mostly because there are none of the usual cherry off notes. Tastes like cherry pie filling. Much better than FLV Cherry Filling, which is bad. Has nice gummy-ish texture you'd expect from a cherry filling. Cheeba didn't think it screamed cherry, but could pick it out. ID10-T tested at 1.5%. Emily tested at 2%

1.30.23

SSA Raspberry Syrup: Like Natural Raspberry, but a bit sweeter. Got sticky sweetness. It's good, but INW Shisha Raspberry is better. If you already have INW SR you don't need this. ID10-T tested at 2.25%. Emily tested at 2%

1.31.15

SSA Juicy Cherries: Emily ranked as 'awesome' as it's a bit less sharp than SSA Compote Cherry. Also a bit sweeter. It's juicy. Good body. ID10-T thought it could be a little bolder, it's a bit soft. ID10-T tested at 2%. Emily tested at 2%

1.31.46

SSA Sour Lime: Emily, EM and ID10-T all ranked as 'above average'. Doesn't have much sourness. But it is bright and has some tartness. ID10-T thought it tasted like lime-aid. It's zesty and tart. Almost busy because of how the tartness meets the body. Lingering lime flavour long after exhaling. It's thick and sticks to your palate. A really good flavour. ID10-T tested at 2.75%. Emily tested at 2%

1.32.37

SSA Scandinavian Fruits: Cheeba and EM ranked as 'awesome'. Cheeba thought it was like a more syrupy, thicker version of FA Forest Fruits. Really liked how sweet, thick and syrupy it is. Tastes like a mixed berry. ID10-T could only pick out blueberry and blackberry. Tasted artificial, but not in a bad way. Other berry blend flavours can be pretty nasty and can run floral and this doesn't. EM gets a pleasant darker zest, almost like a muskiness before it's steeped. Changes after a steep, muskiness goes away. ID10-T tested at 2.5%.

1.33.40

SSA Dulce De Leche: Emily ranked as 'awesome'. Really good. Actually authentic, really tastes like the real thing. A lot of dulce de leche flavours are just rich brown sugar. ID10-T is very sensitive to butiric acid. Got a slight butiric note, but only on a fresh re-drip. But it went away after a couple of puffs. Emily didn't think it was at all sour. Has buttery richness. It's very gooey. ID10-T tested at 2%. Emily tested at 2%

1.35.27

SSA Blackcurrant: Good. Vibrant, really deep. Accurate. Has a little ripe funky-ness. Natural, not candy. may be a little throaty for some. ID10-T thought VT Shisha Blackcurrant is better. ID10-T tested at 2.25%. 1.37.07

SSA Toffee: Emily and ID10-T ranked as 'above average'. Both thought it's not as good as FLV Toffee, VT English Toffee. Doesn't really have the sugary, crunchiness that VT has. But tastes like toffee. Has a good darkness. A good flavour. ID10-T tested at 2.25%. Emily tested at 2%

1.37.44

SSA Shortbread Cookie: Emily ranked as 'above average'. She thought as far as buttery, sweet cookie flavours there are better options. But it's very accurate to a shortbread cookie. ID10-T ranked as 'best in class'. There are a lot of biscuit and cookie flavours that are more versatile and a lot he likes more (but he's not the biggest fan of shortbread, prefers big, fluffy, soft, under-cooked sugar cookies). But there's nothing else that tastes as much like a shortbread cookie as this. Has some butter. But also a bit dry. It's grainy and crumbly. It does shortbread really well. ID10-T tested at 2.5%. Emily tested at 2%

1.38.27

SSA Sweet Mandarin: Clearly a mandarin as opposed to any other type of orange. Very sweet. Pretty similar to VT Mandarin, could probably be 1:1 subs. Definitely better than TFA or FA Mandarin. The only reason it's not ranked higher is because ID10-T prefers FE Sweet Orange, which tastes like a really good mandarin. ID10-T tested at 2%.

1.39.46

SSA Forest Fruits: Emily ranked as 'best in class'. Really good, really tasty. Full, deep. Both Emily and ID10-T agreed it's like a better and darker FA Forest Fruit. It's more flavourful. Quite dark. ID10-T tested at 1%. Emily tested at 2%

1.40.37

SSA Cranberry Jam: (Discussed more fully on cranberry episode) An above average cranberry. A lot of cranberry flavours are bad. this is pretty good. It's soft in flavour, needs some help. (taken from ID10-T's notes from Reddit post) Clearly cranberry. Like cranberry jam or tinned cranberry sauce where real cranberries where used to make it. Very cooked down, subdued cranberry with lots of sugar and jammy texture. More emphasis on jammy sweetness than the cranberry. So flavour a bit soft. Jammy sweet from top to bottom with cranberry sitting more in the middle. A much better cranberry sauce than TFA Cranberry Sauce. ID10-T tested at 1.5%.

PART 6:

Noted Ep. 181: FLAVOR OF THE QUARTER (ft. EdibleMalfunction)

Awesome:

SSA Cola: ID10-T, EM and Cheeba all ranked as 'awesome'. It's almost perfect. Only issues are that it's a little soft and thin. Needs more syrupy cola depth. The best thing about it is how well it captures effervescence. It's fizzy. Cheeba thought it finished a little weird. ID10-T thought it was just absent on the finish. It's a little overly citrus-y for a cola, but not too much of an issue. It's not off putting. Like cola with a lemon wedge. Overall a really fantastic cola. Cheeba and EM thought it may be the best of the cola favours they've tried. Better than FLV and FA. Just needs some body and syrupy thickness. May take a bit of work to do that. ID10-T tested at 2.5%.

1.42.35

SSA Cappuccino Coffee: ID10-T and EM ranked as 'awesome'. Really tastes like cappuccino. More like an instant powder mix cappuccino. WF Smooth Cappuccino Cream is Starbucks-ish and caramel-y with barely any coffee. Tastes more like a caramel cream with a little coffee. Plus it has sucralose in it. SSA actually tastes like cappuccino, not Starbucks-ed, no caramel. EM thought creaminess was on point. Smooth. No off notes. Tastes like the frothy milk from a cappuccino. ID10-T tested at 1%.

1.45.43

SSA Cactus: ID10-T reluctantly ranked as 'awesome'. Exactly like an aloe juice drink. But not juicy. INW Cactus has the great wet quality, which this is lacking. ID10-T tested at 1%.

1.47.01

SSA Apple Strudel: It's WF Cinnamon Apple Strudel, but better. Very similar to WF, but bolder and more flavourful. Cooked apple with some dough. Has some cinnamon. The dough is not too doughy. A better apple than SSA Apple Pie. ID10-T tested at 2.25%.

1.48.10

SSA Juicy Orange: (not to be confused with SSA Orange Juice) Mostly orange with a little tangerine or blood orange. A kind of hybrid of orange and tangerine. Has a flesh body, like a fruit. Darker and richer than a plain orange. ID10-T tested at 1.5%.

1.49.06

CAP Sweet Tangerine is like tangerine candy

SSA Ripe Peach: Very natural peach. Not at all candied. Only reason it's not ranked higher is because it lacks juiciness. Which is easily fixed in a mix. Also a little soft, not super bold. People may really like it because it tastes so natural. Could be a good part of a layer. ID10-T tested at 2%.

1.49.52

SSA Whipped Cream: Similar to CAP Vanilla Whipped Cream but more sugary sweet. ID10-T prefers FA Whipped Cream because it has that milk fat type coating feel. SSA is a bit drier and more marshmallow-y. But that's the compromise for having it sweeter - sweetness and dryness have a correlation. But FA is hard to get for some people. Overall an awesome whipped cream. No off notes. ID10-T tested at 2.75%.

1.50.43

SSA Milky Caramel Fudge: (Not to confused with SSA Milky Caramel Cream) Emily ranked as 'best in class'. So good. Like WF Caramel Butter on steroids. Very rich. ID10-T didn't rank it higher as it's not as dark and caramelised as he'd want a caramel. It's more of a light tan colour caramel. Instead of golden brown. It's gooey. Sticks to the roof of your mouth. Really delicious. ID10-T tested at 2.75%.

1.52.05

SSA Sweet Mint: SSA do really good mints. Similar to INW Shisha Peppermint or FLV Peppermint. Similar sort of candy, extra cold peppermint. Extra cold, extra sweet. ID10-T tested at 1.25%.

1.53.16

SSA Natural Mint: EM and ID10-T ranked as 'awesome'. EM thought it was really good. Smooth, no harshness. The most natural tasting peppermint ID10-T has tried. Most others tend to taste like peppermint candy. So would be perfect for peppermint tea or tobacco. ID10-T tested at 2%.

PART 7:

Noted Ep. 181: FLAVOR OF THE QUARTER (ft. EdibleMalfunction)

Best In Class:

SSA Tiramisu: Tiramisu, but heavy on the Kaluha and light on everything else. A really good, accurate Kaluha . The Lady Fingers are there and tastes right, but too light. There's some sweet cream, it's not quite as rich as marscapone should be. Even a light dusting of cocoa on the finish. Delightful. Needs something like some cookie, maybe JF Biscuit, and more sweet cream. HS Italian Cream may be overpowering? Might work if used low - maybe 0.25%? ID10-T tested at 2%.

1.55.19

FA Booster (Tiramisu) is trash!

SSA Multivitamin: Unfortunate name. But tastes amazing. Really unique. Really bright citrus-y fruit mix. Mostly taste like pineapple with some sweet orange, sweet lemon. Maybe red grapefruit? Possibly peach? May be other fruits too. But tastes so good. Very flavourful. Like SSA Forest Fruits, which is really dark, but the other end of the spectrum. Super bright. Nothing else quite like it. But compared to FA Citrus Mix of FLV Tropical Citrus it blows them out the water. One of ID10-T's favourite flavour of the 94 he tried this week. It's so fun. Doesn't really taste like anything. So would be perfect for more abstract mixes. Would be interesting to see what happens when mixed with cream. Although might be too bright for cream? ID10-T tested at 2%.

1.57.00

mixing bright flavours with cream can be a disaster. But when it works it really works.

SSA Bakery Orange: Really accurate baked orange. Cooking it changes the orange and it captures that perfectly. EM thought it was delicious. Comparable to the orange in a mulled wine. If you want a cooked orange for a bakery etc. then this is the flavour for that. There's no other flavours like this. ID10-T tested at 2.75%.

1.58.36

SSA Anise: Really tastes like anise. Similar to FA, but has more body and more flavour. A little sweetness. No off notes. Definitely the best anise ID10-T has tried. ID10-T tested at 2.25%.

1.59.55

SSA Irish Cream: Could be more boozy. Could have more creamy richness and thickness. But it really tastes like Bailey's Irish cream. Pretty close to FA, but much more accurate. FLV is tasty, but not at all accurate. Better than TFA, CAP, HS.
ID10-T tested at 2%.

2.00.41

SSA Garden Mint: A great natural spearmint. Like eating a spearmint leaf. Most other mints are either candy or peppermint. EM really loves it. Would be perfect for a mojito or mint julip.
ID10-T tested at 1.25%.

2.01.28

SSA Nectarine: ID10-T thought it was the best flavour of the 94 he tried this week. Really accurate. Deep, vibrant flavour. Tastes just like a fresh, sun ripened, in-season nectarine. Juicy, sweet flesh. Skin is more red than normal. TFA Nectarine is a little more peachy. Also brighter and a bit more citrus-y and some people may be looking for that in a nectarine. But ID10-T prefers SSA. People could maybe be disappointed if they were looking for something more tart. SSA is more base-y. Has the whole spectrum of flavour, as log as you're not looking for something too bright. Could mix them together if you wanted a bit more tartness. ID10-T tested at 2.5%. Could probably be used higher. Probably 3-3.5%

2.02.16

Favourite flavours of the week:

ID10-T's: Nectarine, Multivitamin, Bakery Orange, Garden Mint, Natural Mint, Irish Cream

Emily's: Milky Caramel Fudge, Forest Mix

Cheeba's: Crisp Waffle, Scandinavian Fruits

EdibleMalfunction's: Garden Mint - nothing else that capture's that natural spearmint
