As I get new flavors and test them, I tend to cling to one new favorite for awhile. What I'm asking for here is simply a matter of personal preference on the road to self-discovery. I'm not looking for an entire list of your favorite flavors. Simply put, what is your most recent AMAZING flavor discovery?
I want to see what you are ranting and raving about.
Since I haven't bought any new flavors in....a long time, my most recent discovery and favorite is still Solub Arome Vanilla Custard Nougatine. I've been experimenting with it, vaping it solo, and, generally learning how best to use it. I fell in love with it's thick sweetness. It can be used to simply sweeten and thicken a mix (but does lend a flavor). It can be a fantastic base as part of a mix. It can even vaped solo because it is a full and complex flavor. I am in love.
FLV Guanabana. I get a fruity creamy vape. I cant pick out a specific fruit flavor. But I have been told my taster is borked. I single flavor tested it at 2% and its different but delicious.
I love this flavor, for anyone that wants to read the review before buying
At the moment it’s OOO Marshmallow Vanilla, but if you ask me tomorrow it might be something else
I misplaced my bottle of that somehow and now I just tell myself FLV is just as good to make myself feel better. I want to see if I can mix CC Devon cream and FLV marshmallow vanilla together to their limits and see what kind of thick marshmallow vanilla clouds I can make.
In the Mix: PUR Cranberry-Orange / FA Torrone
PUR Cranberry-Orange has a weird, incredible Pine note that I want to put in everything I make these days. FA Torrone is a pukey mess as a shake n’ vape, but after the steep it has improved every Candy Bar I’ve ever smoked.
Standalone Flavors: SSA Multivitman / VT Carrot Cake
Multivitamin? That's a new one. I cant even begin to guess what it tastes like
It's supposed to be a fruity mix iirc.
From u/ID10-T 's sft notes
Multivitamin 2.5% -- Another one that’s more “only in class” rather than “best in class” because it’s fairly unique. And delicious! Deep, saturated flavor. Unfortunate name but apparently it’s some kind of European thing. It tastes mostly like pineapple, but there’s a lot of other stuff going on in this bright, citrusy fruit mix. I get some sweet orange and lemon pretty clearly, but more than that even, a bit of red grapefruit and something else, maybe peach - it gets a little muddy. The orangy-lemon taste a little on the candy side but the pineapple is a little more realistic. If you go back to their Forest Fruits and how dark that was, this is the yin to that yang. Not harsh at all, which is surprising for something that tastes like citrus-pineapple-peach. Nothing quite like it, but when compared to similar-ish flavors, like FA Citrus Mix and FLV Tropical Citrus (two other bright fruit mixes), it blows them out of the water.
Flavormonk Cuberdon.
Tested it yesterday, rather strong. Got that artificial raspberry flavor that'll go well with chocolate. Wanna mix up some raspberry chocolate cake.
A while ago I tried CAP Sweet Tangerine. FUCK why didn't I try that before? Ordered a big bottle.
It's not a new flavor and not recently discovered, but the flavor that I use the most of is Cap Sugar Cookie V1. I vape alot of desserts and custards and this flavor works really well in so many different recipes.
I've just started experimenting with custards but haven't tried adding Sugar Cookie. What % do you suggest?
Well, the ATF average is 3.2%, but you could push it as high as 8%. Here's a couple examples:
OOO orange fresh! Tastes almost exactly like a slice of real orange (or freshly squeezed juice) to me. Working on an orange upside down cake using it.
Good question - there should be a weekly thread where people can shout about their new flavour discoveries and read about other people's.
SSA Crispy Waffle - I've been looking for a good, accurate ice cream cone for sooo long. But they all have issues. Most of the nice ones get lost in a mix so easily. But SSA CW tastes really accurate, really tasty and has stood out in whatever I've put it in so far. It gets a bit burnt tasting if used too high though.
SSA Peanut Butter has a lot of potential. It's really close to an amazing peanut butter. Just has a little bit too much of a peanut skin note for me. Seems like it could be fixed with a bit of extra creaminess? Or maybe I used it a bit too high? I've still got to experiment with it.
Those sound awesome! I'd like to try that crispy waffle. I have quite a few sugar/ waffle cone type flavors and I agree that many get lost.
When I said "new favorite" I didnt necessarily mean that it was new to market, just new to you. I figure that it's a good way for newbies and advanced mixers alike to share their favorite/s, even if they aren't on the "what to buy first" list
Yeah totally, I just happen to have bought a load of SSA flavours recently, so that's what I'm most excited about at the moment.
I personally would seriously love this to be weekly thread. It's great reading about flavours and people's excitement about them. If you didn't want to do it weekly yourself could I try messaging Apexified or someone to see if/how it could happen? It seems like something that should already be a thing!
Ps. Are you RainbowDragon? You got me hooked on SA Vanilla Custard Nougatine when you did the almond episode of Noted!
Wow, i should check my notifications more often. Yep, rainbowdragon, dragon lady, thats me. SA VCN is fabulous! I wish it hadnt gone OOS absolutely everywhere in the US shortly after the show. I cant blame those who managed to snatch some up though.
We should definitely talk about a weekly or monthly thread about new favorite flavors. I think that it could really help people see how alike and how different all of our tastes are. (And maybe find some new gems)
