As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a category of flavor and its many uses. And it's also to have FUN!
Post recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using that flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic.
#This week, this is also where you can comment to win the Beverage Type Flavor Pack ($70 value!) from Flavorah.
This pack includes: Brut Bubble Wine, Morning Mimosa, Back Bar Bitters, Bourbon, Citrus Soda, Coffee, Cola, Eggnog, Elderflower, Horchata, Irish Cream, Juniper Gin, Mocha, Raisin Rum, Root Beer, and Tequila Agave. That’s one hell of a flavor pack right there, folks!
Check it out, FOTW still features a neat poll where you can vote for your flavorites:

It’s been over three years since the last time Champagne was the FOTW. At that time, I only had TFA Champagne, FA Wine Champagne, FW Pink Champagne, WF Champagne Soda, and FLV Morning Mimosa. Since then, I’ve tried VT Blood Orange Champagne and Concrete’s One-Shot from Liquid Barn, Giant Swan. I’ll try to answer any questions anyone might have about those.
Now I get to add FLV Brut Bubble Wine, INW Sparkling Wine, and LA Sparking Wine, as well as Wayne’s one-shot from LB, Sang Pétillant, to my list of flavors tried.
I’ve also been looking for some new recipes to try that use some of these flavors. I think I’ve settled on sampling:
And
BUT if anyone knows of something using a champagne flavor I should mix tonight instead of one of these, please let me know. Or, just in case I wear out before mixing all 7 of them, tell me which one(s) you would prioritize, if you were me.
Based on personal preference - Holiday Cranberry, Poinsettia, and Rosa Resolutions all have FLV Cranberry (one of my favorites) and Berry Mimosa has FLV Boysenberry (another favorite). And the cranberries are a throw back to the recent Cranberry week.
Do you by chance have a classic mimosa like recipe in your repertoire? My wife saw this thread and is now begging me for a mimosa juice.
Just a thought - and not meaning to take advantage of BCF's generosity . . . the FOTW immediately before Black Friday should be something a bit more mainstream than Wine. Then we could all double dip from the Noted discount and the Thanksgiving sale.
Ah shoot. I linked grunch last week not quite realizing what this week was. Duh
I second the Grunch! It's not the most appetizing name (sounds like a new slang term for a body part that can sometimes smell like a turtle tank), but that's some damn good juice right there.
I thought the idea of vaping champagne was kinda gross, until I tried VT Blood Orange Champagne!
(My SF testing notes) Really great effervescence. It tastes like a Bucks Fizz but with blood orange cordial or squash instead of juice or perhaps a mix of squash and juice. It's pretty artificial and has the same sweetness as orange squash. The orange sits throughout the whole vape. It's intermingled with the champagne. The champagne note is really good. It has an almost prefect champagne-y, slightly boozy edge whilst still being very pleasant to vape.

I have one experience with anything alcohol vape related and it was not good. I have to wonder if any of the champagne-esque flavors will be more mild like a soda with like a dash of booze. FLV has had some real bangers so my money is on FLV being middle upper of the pack with Brut Bubble Wine, but Ill be honest that I'm too scared to try it myself. I'm honestly looking forward to it though. if I can get the taste of celebration without the hang over for new years I'm down.
I wish VTA would release pure Champagne on top of their Blood Orange Champagne. That would be quite useful flavor (but then again, that would most probably reduce that great effervescence).
Definitely agree! It's hard to tell what it would be like, but it seems like if they could separate the champagne from the blood orange, the result would be the best champagne flavor. As it stands, the blood orange champagne tastes great, but the orange is a little on the artificial side and limits versatility.
so I haven't drank in nearly a decade & I definitely don't enjoy boozy flavors much at all, but I love the unique taste AND texture of VTA (VT?) Blood Orange Champagne! I've been using TFA Champagne to add a little extra oomph to soda type recipes & enjoy it but the VT "texture" much more!
EDIT- just read thru comments & noticed others saying the same thing about VT Blood Orange :D
