Stupid new guy question
submitted almost 5 years ago by Defiant-Way9022

Ordering ingredients on chefs flavours about to hit order but a question 1st (well 2)

Going to make 4 x 500ml diff flavours , 2 are shake and vape

Should I buy 500ml bottles or would it be better to get bigger bottles (1L) in order to be able to give them a good shake ? (I’m thinking 1L)

Also this recipie : https://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/403150/Frosted%20Flakes Would u recommend steep and for how long ?

Thanks

Going with 4 recipies from here , frosted flakes , birthday cake , mikes melons and bronuts (already made some of this) looking forward to when I’ve don’t lots or diff kinds and have bits and bobs left of flavours to try own mixed with the leftovers

You are about to commit the cardinal sin of beginner DIYing... Do not... I repeat do not make a massive batch of something you have never tried before. Everybody’s tastes buds are so, so different. I cannot count the number of times I made even a 30ml batch of something that was at the very top of ELR with 200 amazing reviews, only to hate it and never touch it again. Make a small batch first and test it my friend. Just because it has lots of good reviews on ELR does not make it good. I for one, absolute hate Mikes Melons - Couldn’t stand it, though some others love it.

Make a batch of the one you have tried and like first, and while you Vape that you can test the others ones in small batches (5ml / 10ml).

Thank you! You won’t regret it, I promise. Then once you know you like it, I recommend getting 120ml glass bottles with drip tips (you can reuse glass bottles forever). You can siphon your juice into a few of those which will make it easier to load your tank than a 1L bottle. Enjoy!

Some solid advice there. 95% of highly rated recipes on ELR and ATF were not to my liking.
Mix small , master your recipes than mix larger

Good luck and welcome to the fold

Pretty sure I will like them and have nice rotation of the 4 before mixing up some others

If you haven't tried the juice before, I would advise against it. Mix testers in 10 or 15 ml bottles first.

Will mix up small bottles as testers 1st , mixed up 60 bronuts yesterday and like it so that’s one of the 4 and if any I don’t like I can just keep the flavours for other mixes

Should I get bigger bottles to shake them up better ?

I can't see how that recipe would taste like Frosted Flakes. But if you want to try it, get JF Yellow Cake. FW Yellow Cake contains Fructose.

If you want to vape Frosted Flakes, try this recipe. And as Ed said below, do not use FW Yellow Cake because it contains sucrose, use JF Yellow Cake instead. I also make two other modifications to that recipe and only use 0.5% of the AP and the Super Sweet.

Already ordered the FW yc, it worked ok in bronuts, will try it in this , do a small bottle 1st

It gunks coils like crazy in addition to causing cancer, it's not recommended to vape. Have you seen the Flavor Safety link in the sidebar? When those recipes were created, we didn't know as much about flavor safety as we do now.

Don't ever mix 500ml 1st you will be wasting ingredients 2nd make 15ml for taste testing

I def understand not to mix 500m with out mixing sample , vaping it for a bit to decide if I like it

If I don’t like I’ll be asking here for some combos with the flavours I have

I’d recommend 100/120ml bottles. Decent size, but not so big that you’re out a lot of mix(or money) if you wind up not liking the result. Unless you’re going to be away from your supplies, mixing 2000ml of liquid in one go doesn’t really make sense, especially with flavors you think you’ll like. Ive made that mistake a few times(only wasted a few 30ml tries early on... but still, wasted juice).

I have got 60m bottles as well so will mix up 1 of each 1st , if don’t like I’ll keep the flavours for other mixes

Love liquid that tastes like frosted flakes had once before years ago So if I get measurements bang on it should taste good (like all the reviews say) ? Also think mixing up 500m be good for getting measurements bang on

There’s a lot of subjective taste in these recipes. My wasted 30mls were from highly rated snv’s. Reviews all said they were amazing. But they were under-flavored after a day or two.

I wound up having to up my flavoring (sometimes by double) which would throw the % after the fact. Not sure if you’ll have the same issues but it cemented the ‘mix a tester’ rule for me.
