Been mixing for about 3 years now, have accumulated so many flavor concentrates. Last night's mixing session was enlightening. I have certain go-to mixes I always do but thought I'd just try something new and picked out a few that I thought I fancied.
Ended up with 2 new juices that are pretty damn tasty even as SNVs. I'll let 1 of them steep for a while before posting it but the other one turned out really nice as a SNV and just thought I'd share:
"Apple sCrumBles"
TPA | Apple Pie | 5.0
TPA | Bavarian Cream | 2.1
INW | Biscuit | 0.95
TPA | Cheesecake (Graham Crust) | 2.5
FA | Fuji Apple | 1.9
FA | Joy | 0.8
TPA | Vanilla Bean Ice-Cream | 3.0
Anyone else just do this and come up with decent juices or is there always the meticulous planning of notes and such.
Enjoy if you like the above flavors! I certainly am!
Edit - Not sure why I can't get the table formatting right :)
I've got a few recipes that happened that way. My favorite of those is Sesame Street Gangbang- http://tjek.nu/r/xtQ1
yes, most of my recipes have been lose freestyles.
grab 5 or 6 flavors I think will probably work and look up the average percentage for each, then mix them all a bit lower or the same or whatever. I usually just mix a 30ml then vape it all and move on to the next. I rarely mix the same thing twice
Love Bavarian cream (tfa). It will make almost anything pop.
Have you tried their whipped cream flavour? That adds such a smooth soft texture to any dessert recipe
Do you only use it as an enhancer or do you make a Bavarian cream vape?
The very first time I bought vape juice, I bought a Bavarian cream that was excellent. Sadly, every Bavarian Cream I have bought or tried to mix since has been garbage. What's the trick?
I use 2-3ml of Bavarian Cream(tfa) a 30ml mix. Usually with 2-3ml of Ripe Strawberry (tfa). If you haven't tried Ripe Strawberry.. i think it's called Strawberry (Ripe).. then ohh man. That and a shy 1ml or .9ml of ethyl maltyl (cotton candy) and VG max.
I don't use any extra PG in my mixes unless the flavor just isn't coming out.. then I'll shoot an ml in there to breathe some life into it.
Now that my state has implemented heavy taxes on shipped premixed eliquids, I’m about to join the diy party. I’m sure I’ll have a collection in no time with my attention span.

LOL! That's nuts! Nice idea but some recipes I just clicked through are literally crazy! Have you actually used any of these?
Tried it once. Mix was terrible. Prefer to use a flavor pairing chart and work from there.
this is basically the entirety of how i mix nowadays. For like the past year I haven't recorded any of my recipes (big mistake because I made an amazing custard that i can't recall). But I just go for stuff that piques my interest at the time, or I get an idea and try and pick out the stuff that will work best for it and mix it up on the spot.
Ironically, I've made a lot less bad mixes this way than I did when I was really trying to experiment.
I've had a few successes this way. The best one I ever came up with on the fly was this one:

I make some every time I sit down to mix.
My successes are usually done just this way. From single flavor tests I know which ones i like, and create something from that. Not until I buckled down and did the single flavor tests did this version of winging it work. I’m glad it’s working for you. ✌️💛
Yep, have done this many times. Often. I just love it when it works out! It's like winning at bingo.
I study and don't always have time to SFT properly but if I really wanna try some new flavours out I'll chuck em in a mix together, often with one or two I know will work well and I enjoy, to see how they are in the mix. And sometimes I'll follow my nose and pick some I haven't tried based on smell and notes I've read online. I have also been known to place a drop of flavour on the back of my hand and add a drop of VG to taste test it if the aroma is weak or I'm feeling lazy, and I'll work with that.
It certainly works out sometimes! Or at least points me in the next direction to take! Have fun :)
