Big batches
submitted almost 5 years ago by Defiant-Way9022

Going to give making some DIY a go, and hopefully some able to answer couple questions, seen some recipes that look great posted on here

Could I make in 1 litre bottles and simply transfer to smaller bottles from there (will still steep ok) ?

How long would it keep in good condition ?

Can u throw the concentrate ingredients together and save them mixed together ready to add to the of/vg mix ? (Example recipe from here ‘sukle my melons - x% this and x% this with X% of that) So instead of putting % into the pg/vg mix I could just put him ‘suckle’ mix straight in that already pre mixed ?

Want to make some really good juice and lots of it , try some of the 5 star ones off here as well

  • have mixed my own years ago but was just simple mixing kit from vampire vapes that came with 1 concentrate for each bottle , want to try the more exotic one from here

Doing bigger ones shouldn't harm it but like another commenter said some flavours might be muted depending on how long they are in there, when I do bigger batches I normally do them with concentrates that like a nice long steep and get better with age like custards, ice creams etc over more fruity ones but that's just me.

You can make as much as you like and transfer, just make sure you try a smaller bottle before you commit to a big one. How long they last will depend, to some extent, on how much nic you use and the quality of the nic from the start. The nic will oxidize over time and how you store it will either make that happen faster or slower.

Mixing is actually pretty quick once you get the hang of it, so I don't see any good reason to make huge quantities unless it's something that needs to steep a long time or you're sharing it with others.

ELR gives you the option to turn any recipe into a oneshot (all the flavors in one bottle)

Thanks for reply , I’d not be using nic any way just adding nic shots to small bottles (50/100m (UK can’t by nic)

Seen some recipes posted on here and after bought all the flavours think I’m as well adding plenty of pg/vg and making big batch

Could I use it 6 month/a year later ?

You can buy nic in the uk. Source: I'm in scotland and just took delivery of 250ml of 72mg nic salts from nicotine hub a few days ago.

I'm from the Netherlands and I order 72mg nic concentrate from the UK. Quite funny that I can find product that a native cannot, it's also not the first occurrence on this sub. Lazy people...

You could. Depending on the recipe(s) you might find that some flavors will fade over that span of time but the juice won't go "bad" or anything like that.

I make my ADV in a 1.5L bottle, once every couple months or so.

Just a little addition: It also depends on the flavour profile/recipe. For example, tobaccos or custards tend to become better and better with a really long steeping time. With citrus for example, it's the opposite, often fades pretty quickly, in just a few weeks.

Welcome to world of DIY , just started DIY'ing a few months ago myself. Rather than mixing big batches , I would recommend nailing down your flavour profiles in smaller batches say ,10-20ml Once you have your mixes spot on then start with the larger batches.

Remember taste is subjective , there's a lot of highly rated mixes on ELR and ATF that were just not for me Took me a few weeks to tweak the recipes to my liking.

Pre-mixing the flavors is called a "one shot". Great idea for a recipe you mix a lot of.

For one recipe (my ADV) I buy the ingredients for a 3 litre batch. I make a one shot of all the flavors (stored in a 1L glass mason jar). When I want juice, I mix 500ml at a time: it's so easy because then it's 20% flavor (100ml), 10% PG (50ml) and 70% VG (top up the bottle). Shake and put it away to steep. 500ml lasts a month.

Ok, I'm just gonna say it...I read "snatches" at first.

  1. For frequent liquids, I make one-shots of my concentrates then just add VG/PG & Nic as needed (you can easily create one-shots of your recipes with a click of a button on ELR).
  2. If I make larger batches (250-500m)l I don't add the nicotine until I decant into the smaller bottle I am currently using. This stops the larger batch from degrading/oxidizing
