So I bought some juice from the B&M....
submitted almost 5 years ago by [deleted]

I've been mixing my own E-Liquid for quite some time now, maybe 4 years. The other day I stopped into a tobacco shop to buy a new battery for my thc cart. I saw they had a few E juices on the shelves that were on sale (like $10 for a 60ml bottle) and I decided what the heck and got one to try. I was in a bit of a dry spell recipe wise and wanted to see if anything could maybe spark some inspiration.

So anyways I pick this one called King by Valgous. Which its profile is supposed to be sweet cereal mixed with fresh fruit.

Loaded up my tank with it and lord baby Jesus with diabetes was it disgusting. Basically tasted like pure sugar, nothing that resembled the flavor it claimed what so ever. and I am one to use a pretty high amount of sweetener in my own mixes (0.75-1%)

Is commercial juice really this bad now? I mean back when I vaped commercial I really liked marina vapes marshmallow man, donuts etc. All VERY sweet flavors but with a quality flavor.

I ended up gifting the bottle to a friend and he doesn't mind it but damn does it got me thinking, Commercial liquids now a days probably have an insane amount of super sweet. (this tasted like super sweet at 5% or more seriously)

Well, odds are it was on sale because everyone else thought it was crap too.

Seriously, you can't make judgments on a whole class of products (commercial vape juice) by trying one product.

Thank you, the "all commercial juice sucks" attitude is such a circle jerk in this sub. There is shitty juice out there for sure but you wouldn't say that all restaurants should be avoided because some of them use more salt than you do at home. What did you (OP) expect buying some random budget juice?

I'm a pretty picky vaper and don't really like most commercial juice either but there's definitely quality juice out there that doesn't contain sweetener. Adirondack Vapor has been one of my favorites since I started vaping.

There's still commercial juice I'll crave and buy every once in awhile

It's always been this way. Most of us have just gotten used to little to no sweetener.

Reading this makes me feel so much better about my mixes.

Generally speaking, B&M juices have a metric ton of sweetener yes. Are all of them terrible? No. There are thousands of juices, and some are fantastic. The only commercial juice I currently vape is Oasis by Aqua just cause I can’t get the flavors right.

Lol I feel you bro. I've been mixing for pretty much as long as i started vaping, six years ago. I went to a shop the other day and started dripping some of the sample bottles, every one tasted like pure ass. Was really hoping to find something I liked to clone, but...nope. walked right the f out.

I'm not such a long term mixer like you, but I've been enjoying DIY for quiet some time. I'm having a cold right now, which is some kind of nightmare but I took it as an opportunity to grab some of my commercial juices and vape those instead; can't taste much right now, what could go wrong?

It's like vaping pure sugar or syrup with a faint fruit flavor in the back. I cannot imagine that I like to vape such stuff 😯

The only retail juice I have purchased in the last 5 years or so is from DIY folks that went retail, like TBDliquids, Kite in the Cloud, and Blue Dot to name a few. I haven't bought any juice in a while though.

This is the reason I stopped buying Humble juices. Would wreck my coils in hours, and was just sickeningly sweet. I use no sweetener in my diy juice, maybe a little cotton candy, but that's more for blending and is usually 1% or less.

I have tried some good commercial juice, but I'd just rather mix my own. Cheaper and I can tweak it if I feel like it.

I feel like ALOoooot of commercial juices represent this. I only got into DIY juices 6 months into vaping so I had quite a few different juices I had tasted. Once I got into DIY I didn't start with sweetener, now I too also use like 1%. But anyway I vapes my DIY for like 3 months no sweetener. Then one day I was like hey why don't I vape one of my old commercial juice. It was just a plain mango flavour that I loved before DIY. My god man I had 2 hits of it and I nearly threw up from how shockingly sweet it was. It was disgusting man. I have never gone back.

Except on 2 occasions where I forgot my juice at home so stopped at my local shop during work to pick up an old favour strawberry jam flavour (not jam monster another one) and it was nice man,but again it was quite strong on the sweet side. It didn't make me feel sick but after like a work day worth of vaping I was sick of it and gifted it away. The second occasion was I really wanted a caramel milk flavour so I found a popular one and man did I love it. It really wasn't sweet at all. It was thick caramel milk perfection, the only reason I haven't bought it again is because honestly it is so expensive for 75ml. Like R250. It just isn't worth the price for the amount. I would rather try and clone it somehow and I'm pretty close but it's not exact. But it works for me and cost a 1/10th of the amount and make triple the amount.

I really feel like there are alot of amazing commercial juices but the amount of shitty juices far outweighs the good ones. The ones that know they are good aren't cheap.

The majority use a lot of sweetener yes. Some are fine though. They're not all that bad. I bought some juices this year that were crap. I like Pachamama Fuji Strawberry Nectarine so I thought I'd try a few others. I got like 4 of their other ones. They all sucked and most were just very over sweetened. I also read about a brand called Costal Clouds. I got 4 of those and they all sucked.

I've been buying Propaganda Blue Frost for years. It used to be called Blue Slushee but that must have been too enticing for children so they changed the name. It's my all time favorite juice. I'll keep buying Dinner Lady Lemon Tart until I can't anymore, or I make or find a recipe that's similar enough. There's a few others I like as well. It's not all garbage. Finding diamonds in the rough is tough task though, and can be spendy as well.

I mix Dazcole’s lemon tart on ATF and it’s great.
