As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a category of flavor and its many uses. And it's also to have FUN!
Post recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using that flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic.
#This week, this is also where you can comment to win the Bakery Assortment #1 Flavor Pack ($70 value!) from Flavorah.
This pack includes: Ginger Snap, Biscotti, Blueberry Muffin, Caramel, Cinnamon Crunch, Cookie, Crunch Cereal, Frosting, Granola, Macaroon, Marshmallow Vanilla, Milk Chocolate, Pumpkin Spice, Rich Cinnamon, Smoked Butterscotch, and Sweet Dough.

I got Cap gingerbread to make the oatmeal cream pie by folkart https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/98340#oatmeal_cream_pie_by_folkart I haven't made this recipe in a while this reminds me to make a batch
Can we get slushy type added to the list? If I’m not mistaken it’s been 3 years since the last!
Do you know of any new slushy flavors that weren't covered then?
I picked up a bottle of NF Ginger (Nature’s Flavors)... It definitely ended up having more of a Ginger Ale vibe than a Ginger Bread vibe.
Can NF Ginger be used to create Gingerbread? Or should I be sussing out different flavor combination?
I think you could use it to build a gingerbread. It's bright, and you need to darken it with some dark sweetness, like brown sugar, caramel, molasses. And add some bakery of course.
Not really a Ginger fan, so here is an idea for FOTW - Sugar
(NO sweeteners since you already covered those; i mean Raw Sugar, Powdered Sugar, Burnt Sugar, Brown Sugar, Cinnamon Sugar, Vanilla Sugar, Sugar Cane, Molasses, Golden Syrup, Cotton Candy).
And again a flavour profile I don't have. I do like gingerbread and the likes IRL, so I'm looking forward to your experiences.
I didn't think there were too many gingerbreads out there though?
I have these 13: Herrlan Gingerbread, CAP Gingerbread, HS Gingerbread, FLV Gingersnap, TFA Gingerbread Extra Ginger, OoO Gingerbread Cookie, INW Spicy Biscuit, FW Gingerbread, EF Gingerbread, TFA Gingerbread, TFA Gingerbread Cookie, INW Gingerbread, NF Organic Gingerbread.
I really kinda like Flv gingersnap but I feel like I’m vaping a NET tobacco they way it murders my cotton and coils. Any recommendations on a mix that uses it? I never felt like it was worth all the experimenting and just kinda fell off with it.
I picked up the TPA but I’m in no rush to test it. Judging from the list, there’s a few out there I should consider upping.
Also, particularly excited for next week.
There is a brown sludge that has formed in my bottle of FLV Gingersnap. It's scary.
IRL I love a warm piece of gingerbread with a drizzle of lemon sauce. Would that flavor combo work in vape form without turning into ginger lemonade?
I haven't tried any gingerbread yet, but I imagine that gingerbread is one of the profiles that I'd like create from scratch (after trying a couple). I imagine getting the cookie, molasses and spices just right will be a challenge.
or maybe I'll give it a try before trying any gingerbread flavouring and see what happens, if I have the necessary ingredients. pretty sure VT ginger root is not the right ginger for it though and that's the only one I have now
Oh I can't wait. I remember my Mother growing up on Long Island would go to the Wonder Bread/Hostess outlet and pick up some Baller Gingerbread Cookies with White Icing (Soft Batch) by Archway (company) I think it was called. Now I would love to conquer that recipe...
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a commercial ginger bread juice. I never really even thought about it being a good vape flavor to be honest. I’m very interested in seeing how this one goes! If any are good then I’ll definitely be interested in trying some recipes with them.
i keep trying to work with vta ginger, and while a good flavour, i just cant seem to make a convincing bakery with it, instead what i get is a syrupy ginger beer served with a bakery.
tried a few "blenders" to pair the bond with various cookie bases, still a no go. i believe there is a good gingerbread/ginger bakery in vta ginger, but it requires someone with more skill than i.
or i just buy a single gingerbread flavour based off your recs! so much easier!
Yeah, that one’s way too accurate to fresh ginger to go into gingerbread easily enough for me wrestle with trying it, not when there are more bakery type gingers and gingerbread flavors. Not saying it can’t be done, but why put yourself through that
Only Ginger I know of is u/Kittybit8
A recipe my brother like me to make for him:
Ingredient|% :---|---: Ginger (Flavorah)|1.00 Gingerbread Extra Ginger (TPA)|0.75 Nectarine (TPA)|2.50 Peach (Pesca) (FA)|1.00 Super Sweet (CAP)|1.00 White Peach (Purilum)|4.00
Flavor total: 10.25%
I had an aunt who would replace the graham cracker crust in her cheesecakes with a gingerbread crust for the holidays. I'm thinking that might work well as a holiday vape if any pass tonight's muster!
CAP Gingerbread is pretty yummy. I like to bump up the ginger with a touch of TFA Gingerbread Extra Ginger. IMO TFA GEG is basically a bakery ginger spice flavour. Not really a gingerbread. It's also potent. So I usually only use around 0.35%.
I looove gingerbread so I can't wait for this weeks episode!
Cap gingerbread is the only one I have and only used it once or twice in recipes.... didn't sft it...probably should do....will add it to the 60 sft I have to do 🙄. Anyway, before that I think I'm going to mix the folkart recipe mentioned earlier, looks like a good one to see what's cap gingerbread is doing in a mix. I don't know why I didn't use it much, and why I only have one, cause I really love gingerbread cookies in real life and ginger in general. So many flavorings, so many profiles....but so much fun! Looking forward to the show!
