As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a category of flavor and its many uses. And it's also to have FUN!
Post recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using that flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic.
#This week, this is also where you can comment to win the Berry Flavor Pack ($70 value!) from Flavorah.
This pack includes: Cranberry, Alpine Strawberry, Berry Blend, Black Currant, Blackberry Blossom, Blueberry, Boysenberry, Ice, Jammy Berry, Raspberry, Red Raspberry, Strawberry, Strawberry Cream, Strawberry Filling, Strawberry Smash, and Sweetness.

123 cranberry sprite is pretty much the only thing cranberry recipe I've tried thus far and I rather enjoyed it. Thought it was pretty much spot on. I'm looking to try zombie by queeryourvape, cranberry orange upside down cake by hibbadoray, september brew by mech_mod_rn and a few others looking good also. Good stuff my dudes, keep it up!
Had never tried actual cranberry sprite until after mixing this recipe (it's not really a thing in Australia). But I got hold of a can and can confirm it is spot on!
Could use some sweetener, some cooling, maybe a touch of FA Aurora. I think it's pretty good though. It's not the one that started the whole 1-2-3 thing for nothin', right?
SSA cranberry jam sounds promising. Cranberries are my favorite dried fruit. I’ll be interested to know if translates well into a vape.
I'm excited to try that one.
Unfortunately, none of the cranberries I've tried so far seem like they'd translate very well at all to a craisin. They've either fresh cranberries, cranberry juice, cranberry sauce, or something awful. No dried ones. You might have some luck trying to mix something like VT Red Dates with a cranberry flavor, though. Maybe.
I have nothing to add to this thread, but boy do I want to win that flavor pack. Just got into mixing a few weeks ago and I'm trying to accumulate enough flavors so I can get more complex with my recipes.
There are some great ones in there for sure, Cranberry, Boysenberry, Jammy Berry, Blueberry.
I have this lingonberry flavored energy drink that I absolutely love and want desperately to recreate in an e liquid. I have seen some recipes that claim to recreate the lingonberry punch flavor and they all contain cranberry! I think a lingonberry punch maybe mixed with some of the lemon/lime flavors would really kick ass. Almost like cranberry sprite but a little better
FLV cranberry & VSO cranberry both amazing flavors.
Upvoted for vso i love vso cran
A spiced cranberry citrus recipe: Spiced Cranberry Citrus #727
Ingredient|% :---|---: Blood Orange (FA)|2.00 Chai Tea (TPA)|3.00 Cinnamon Sugar (SilverLine) (CAP)|2.00 Cranberry (CAP)|4.00 Cranberry (TPA)|4.00 Lemon Mix WG (INAWERA)|0.50 Quince Jelly (SC) (WF)|1.00 Super Sweet (CAP)|1.00
Flavor total: 17.5%
My simplistic cran-apple recipe: Cran-Apple #726

Flavor total: 14.5%
Wow I missed the boat on this thread and know this comment will be buried but I have a couple old cranberry SFT notes to share for anyone searching in the future.
#1 - TFA Cranberry
2019/05/03 - Mixed 10ml at 3% 92/8. Rinsed ldpe.
2019/05/09 - Vaping in the Nudge22 at day 5/6. I've eaten a lot of wild cranberries in my day, high-bush and low-bush, and this flavor is pretty authentic. Interestingly I don't get much out of this at 3% for the first 2 pulls until the coil/wicks are nicely heated up, then that nice cranberry dry throatyness shows up a bit. Similar to how a glug of pure cranberry or grape juice can feel dry at the tail end. There is too much sweetness and not enough tartness for a truly authentic cranberry. When I first tasted this flavor I was impressed but my thoughts immediately went to adding 0.1% INW Rhubarb to spike the tartness up. Despite this, it blows FLV Cranberry out of the water and nails the profile quite well. Strength-wise I'm finding it too weak at 3%, even as a secondary flavor. I'll have to re-test this one at 6-8% to see if there are any off-notes or other weirdness at higher concentrations. I also have LA Cranberry to test but that one is really weak on the knuckle test, doesn't really taste like cranberries, and I'm getting some perfumeyness and candy notes. This TFA Cranberry doesn't seem to have any candy or perfume notes but I'm worried that it's too laid-back to stand out in a mix with other flavors going on. No problems finishing the 10ml sample. So far no regrets picking this one up and it's waaaay cheaper than Flavorah's. Not sure how it's going to stand up to a steep.

#2 FLV Cranberry
2019/02/18 - I've already vaped it in 123 cranberry sprite (where it is used very lightly). Let's try a SFT at 4% which should be near the top before the dirt/earth notes start (supposedly) showing up. Mixed 10ml. Off the shake this doesn't taste like cranberry at all. :( Let's give it 14 days.
2019/03/10 - Vaping in the Nudge22 around day 20. This is a weak flavor and seems to have a lot of EM and/or sweetener. Brown suckback in bottom of the FIRST squonk bottle. Light sweet cranberry. Polar opposite of a BOLD cranberry flavor. No tartness or POW. Tastes like a light, thin, cranberry juice syrup. Not as aggressive as even canned cranberry sauce for thanksgiving. Good body/fullness to it at 4%. There is nicely done earthy/seedy backnote which makes me think of blueberries. It seems to be just starting to shine through here at 4%. I don't know if it would be detectable at 2 or 3%. Interestingly, the cranberry SMELL carries well and I can really smell this vape when it's in my pocket.
What use is this? Vaping on it now and I'm thinking maybe it would go well in a cake icing or some sort of vanilla swirl where cranberry is not the main note. This is too weak to use as a primary flavor. It should pair nicely with lighter fruit flavors though. Coconut. Maybe FLV lyche which is supposedly syrup like as well. Should pair with blueberry. I wonder how this would taste blended with INW Cherries?
Didn't realize Cranberry is the FOTW, I was missing FLV Cranberry to mix u/ID10-T 's Cranberry Sprite . The great thing it's on the way from BCF.
After that you're probably going to be looking for some other uses for FLV Cranberry, so here are three I can personally recommend:
And there are a bunch of other really good-looking ones here, like I got to page 5 before I finally stopped going "Yep I want to try that" "Yep I want to try that" "Yep that one too"
In the process of creating a flavor combination that tricks the senses into thinking its strawberry (for us strawberry mutes)- Might be a good Cran to help the tart/sweet balance of my blend. Looking forward to seeing y'alls comments and critiques!
If you haven't already, you might consider trying to use CAP Sweet Currant or CAP Sweet Guava for what you're thinking a cranberry flavor might be able to help with.
Not much experience in the cranberry department, so i’m looking forward to learn something! I only use CAP Cranberry in my Hakuna clone (https://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/3676345/Hakuna%20Clone%20%28Twelve%20Monkeys%29) but i think it’s the wrong one because Twelve Monkeys uses FA flavors. Does FA have a decent cranberry? I’ll find out on the next episode
I don't think they have one at all
My most exciting Cranberry experience of All-Time was discovering The glory of PUR Cranberry Orange...
Seriously... this shit is so weird and so good! I don’t even really like Cranberries - but with this one both the Orange and the Berry are pretty damn delicious. It’s also complex... sometimes I even use it to add a Pine note to other flavors. Highly recommended if you are a fan of somewhat-oddball choices in your smoky cuisine.
Cranberries might be the only berries I never really liked - maybe I can be converted by some vape recipe or other. Might be worth looking into
I don't like them either. When I was a kid I could eat that stuff out of a can though. We only had it around the holiday season though. One year we went to my aunt's for Thanksgiving and she'd dressed up actual cranberries into a mash. That shit was awful compared to the candy like stuff that falls out shaped like a can.
The doctor says I treasure my berries just a little too much already, so I can't help you there.
I've always liked the idea of cranberries more than the taste of them, but here's to mind-changing! I imagine there's got to be some awesome use case for their strange mix of sweet and bitter. I don't exactly know how, but I'm pretty sure I have about 4 cranberry flavorings that I'd like to be able to use.
Ah ive been waiting for this one for a while, i absolutely love cranberries. Heres my recipe:

- (CAP) Cranberry 3%
- (FLV) Cranberry 1.5%
- (TPA) Cranberry 3%
Im mixing 50/50 and i like it, its a good place to start. Always open to suggestions!
Edit: My development notes are lacking, im spread so thin these days
Awww shit. I’m working with the SSA Cranberry Jam right now.
What do you think of SSA Cran. Jam? Have you tried any other SSA flavours? Any you've found particularly good or interesting?
Interested to see what comes out of this as I went with flv cranberry last year for my flavor stash as I thought it was the king of cran. Can't wait to incorporate holiday flavors in some mixes. Fall is in full swing here in the midwest. Break out the yam! Lol.
Do you have a list of flavors being tried yet? Think I might check them out in advance.
On Noted? I have 13 of them: Herrlan Cranberry, CdD Cranberry, HS Apple Cinnamon Cranberry, SSA Cranberry Jam, FLV Cranberry, FLV Apple Cranberry, TFA Cranberry, TFA Cranberry Sauce, FW Cranberry, CAP Cranberry, OoO Cranberry, LB Cranberry Cobbler, and WF Cranberry Cocktail. I know Emily has more than half of those of those, and she has LA Cranberry Natural, too. I don’t have any idea what Cheeba has because he literally takes 6 days per week off the internet. But if Delosi has a cranberry, we can probably count on him to own it. I hope he, or our guest, has VSO Cranberry and PUR Orange Cranberry because I keep hearing about those two but couldn’t get them in time.
Brie and Bourdain is still my favourite Cranberry recipe to this day
Got SSA Cranberry Jam in my cart as we speak, (along w/some other SSA stuff). The CJ will be my first Cranberry though. Tbh I can’t really recall coming across many recipes that call for cranberry. Watching 👀
Just ordered all the ingredients to make the 3-2-1 cranberry sprite. Will be my first cranberry juice and hoping it tastes decent in a caliburn
It will not taste good in a caliburn as is. You’ll need to increase the amount of each flavor. Possibly even double them. I recommend starting lower than that, say, 1.5% Cranberry, 3% Fizzy Sherbet, and 4.5% Lemon Lime.
Would this be because the relatively low flavor percentage total or due to flavors used? Kind of new to mixing and vape mostly mtl. Have had luck with many low percentage tobacco flavors in my mtl devices.
I have a Caliburn and although it doesn't seem to take quite as much flavoring compared to a bunch of other pod systems, I still find I need to bump up the %s compared to sub-ohm setups. If low % tobacco recipes that weren't written with caliburns in mind are working well for you, though, you might be a sensitive taster. In which case, go ahead and mix it up as is and see. Just don't make a ginormous batch, ok? I don't want to be at fault for causing you to waste a bunch of juice if you find the flavor lacking.
I remember when I was a desperate kid on probation trying to pass a piss test by drinking ungodly amounts of cranberry juice. I didn’t work... and I can’t say I’m a big fan of cranberry anymore. I’m sure there are some wicked ones this week! Full of off notes and perfume. Some of the flavor descriptions you guys have are just hilarious, and extremely accurate. Thanks for doing what you guys do!
