Apple Pie
submitted almost 5 years ago by aping46052

Does anyone have a good but simple apple pie/ apple fritter recipe? I am new to all this so I’m trying to find one that doesn’t have a bunch of flavors. I have looked on ELR but I’m still figuring out how to use it. Most of the ones I see have a lot of ingredients and/or haven’t been rated. I usually vape 3mg and either 70/30 or higher vg.

1 2 3 Cinapple Side Dish

>You know those cinnamon apple side dishes you get at rib joints, or in your sad microwave Hungry Man dinners?

Cinapple side dish is pretty damn good. Especially around a campfire.

I can vouch for the PUR Country Apple being useful in this. Had used it in conjuction with TFA Apple Pie to help "fix" this one by lowering the cinnamon notes.

Oooh, thank you, I will be making this soon, plus the comment on here about a campfire. Gonna make a campfire just to vape near it

This one is called Cinapple Fritter, and it has a SHITLOAD of positive reviews goin’ for it:

Plus - the chef offers a ToN of ways to simplify the recipe with substitutions and/or for fewer ingredients.

Sorry to comment on my own comment, but this 2nd Bakery/Apple recipe uses a bunch of the same ingredients as the one above. It ALSO has RaVe reviews, and the flavors used are pretty popular ones. I love when veteran mixers use commonplace flavors for us plebians:

This is my favorite, and I've tried this one and it's good too. I may even have them switched around for which is my favorite, lol, they're both good.

If you like apple pie, Flavorah Apple Filling is a must have. This tastes exactly like the gooey stuff in a pie.

If you want to go really simple, you can do 2% FA apple pie and 2% FA fuji.

If you have the flavors, I really like this apple pie. The vanilla custard gives it a slight hint of a la mode (pie with vanilla ice cream). Let it steep for a few days and it's just right:

FA Apple Pie 2%

FA Fuji 2%

FA Liquid Amber 0.5%

CAP Vanilla Custard V1 0.5%

My rough apple fritter:

2% INW Biscuit

2% CAP Double Apple - bring a bit sour to make the apple a bit less "real".

1% CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl

1% TFA Barvian Cream or Cheesecake graham, or some kind of cream/custard to bring in cream body

One thing I do push a bit is CAP Supersweet. 0.5% or higher brings in that sugar lips glaze flavor.

Also optional is something like 0.5% or more CAP Buttercream frosting, which adds that glaze.

This is just a rough idea of what I had a while back. Sadly I threw the old recipe away. ;_;

Thank all you for your suggestions. I know have several recipes I can try. Most commercially available apple pie is long on being sweet but no real flavor. Actually I guess that goes for a lot of commercial flavors in general just kind of blah. Or at least that’s my experience with some of my favorites, apple pie, coconut pie, lemon anything and key lime. I am hoping by switching to DIY to actually get some great tasting juices.
