As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a category of flavor and its many uses. And it's also to have FUN!
Post recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using that flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic.
#This week, this is also where you can comment to win the Bakery Assortment #1 Flavor Pack ($70 value!) from Flavorah.

Vote /u/ID10-T for Pumpkin King!
If it's been long enough since the last one(s) I'd like to request Milks/Creams to be added to the fotw rotation .
There hasn't been that I know of much new by the way of milks since we last did that one and creams has proven to be way too broad of a category for a single FOTW. There's just so many of them! Can you narrow down "creams" for me? Bavarian wasn't very long ago, we've already got Vanilla Ice Cream and Cream Soda coming up. What's another type of cream that you want to get its own FOTW? Examples: Vienna, Devon, Irish, Whipped, Sweet. Probably plenty of others I haven't thought of.
Any chance you’ll be squash-ing my curiosity about FW Vanilla Butternut or is this strictly pumpkin?
Not being a fan of pumpkin in general, pumpkin spice as a concept always leaves me with a bit of trepidation.
On one hand, Pumpkin spice should just refer to the spice blend, which is quite nice. Nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, ginger, and maybe some allspice... there's a lot you can do with that.
On the other hand, all too frequently "pumpkin spice" also includes some squash/pumpkin flavor with it and it ruins the whole thing.
For this week are you focusing in solely on pumpkin flavors (are there even enough "pumpkin" flavors to cover an episode?), or are pumpkin/holiday spice blends on the table as well?
Here's my list of flavors for this week:
- FLV Pumpkin Spice
- FLV Pumpkin Bread
- FW Pumpkin Spice
- VSO Pumpkin
- HS Pumpkin Pie
- TFA Pumpkin
- TFA Pumpkin Spice
- TFA Holiday Spice
- CAP Pumpkin Spice
- LA Pumpkin
- LB Pumpkin Pie
- WF Pumpkin Candy
- Flavor Jungle Pumpkin Cheesecake (one-shot)
- OoO Pumpkin Pie
- OoO Pumpkin Spice
- OoO Cheesecake Pumpkin SPice
- OoO Ginger Pumpkin Spice Latte
- RFSC Pumpkin Pie
- Bickford Pumpkin
- Faeries Finest Pumpkin
- Health Cabin Pumpkin Pie
- Nature's Flavors Pumpkin Pie
TFA "SWEET GOD ALL I CAN TASTE IS NUTMEG" made the list?
Honestly, more actual pumpkin flavors than I expected.
Another ‘Murica style episode i guess. Pumpkin’s aint to popular here, and pumpkin spice is nowhere to be seen. Had to google whats in the spice mix, looks good! Might make some myself and try it. Btw, why is it called pumpkin spice? Y’all really eat that much pumpkins? I hate pumpkins, but that might have to do with childhood trauma.
Yes, we really do eat that much pumpkins, mostly in October and November.
What's up with the "ain't too" and "ya'll" talk? You tryin to Texas?
My Texas’ doing purdy gud i recon!
You guys really eat lots of pumpkins? Not just for show and decoration? I’ve seen pumpkin spice used in all sorts of foods and beverages, but never really seen a recipe/meal with pumpkin and pumpkin spice. Not that i want to try it, but i thought most pumpkins were just for show and competitions
They mostly get consumed in the form of pumpkin pie and pumpkin pie variants. You haven't lived into you've had a pumpkin pecan pie or better yet, pumpkin pecan cheesecake. A pumpkin pecan pie is basically like if a pecan pie and a pumpkin pie had a very delicious baby, and a pumpkin pecan cheesecake is that, plus cheesecake. Fuck. I'm drooling now.
I just google pumpkin desserts, the top results are things like "70+ Easy Pumpkin Dessert Recipes" and "75 Easy Pumpkin Dessert Recipes" and "31 Best Pumpkin Desserts to Get You in the Fall Mood" and YES, people here really do make and eat all of those things.
And most of them do indeed use both pumpkin and pumpkin spice.
I personally love a good Pumpkin Roll and every year I make my own version of Pumpkin-Doodle Cookies, that's similar to this recipe but with cinnamon in place of much, but not all, of the pumpkin spice.
I’ve tried aLOT of Pumpkin flavors, and most of ‘em have been Satanically awful. But recently I’ve found 2 Pumpkins to recommend without fear:
VSO Harvest Moon (@10%): I’m not sure if VSO sells this all year, but I wish they would. The balance of Pumpkin and Spices is perfect, and the complexity is impressive. Zero off-notes. My mouth isn’t cognizant enough to judge the cream-cheese frosting... but I can say that it’s sweet, delicious and a perfect vape to have with a Coffee.
OSDiY Pumpkin Spice Cream (@8%): This is a creamier Pumpkin flavor. It actually emphasizes a deep-cream almost as much as it does Pumpkin and Spice. It’s super-smooth, sweet, and hits all the notes necessary for a good pumpkin spice-esque flavor.
(I wish Noted could include these in their FOTW... but I know there’s only 4 of them and 900,000 flavors to review)
I missed both of those when I was buying a ton of pumpkin flavors.
:(
You're welcome to come on Noted and talk about them with us, though!
Thanks for the reviews. I'll definitely try to track this two down. Both those brands are kinda limited in the UK though. I haven't tried an OSDIY that I've thought was bad yet. Although I've only got 3 or 4 if them. OSDIY Lotta Latte is a genuinely good coffee flavour and Lucky Shot is one of my all time favourites. It goes with everything!
With the obsession some people have of pumpkin spice and everything nice, is it the spice or the actual pumpkin flavor that draws them? I had a pumpkin spiced latte once, and never again. My prayers will be with you through this trying time. Good luck 🍀☮️✌️💚
Friggin love vso pumpkin and a lil flv pumpkin spice MMMMMMMMMMM
What's the best pumpkin recipe you've had?
My own, a snickerdoodle cookie with pumpkin in it and a little touch of pumpkin spice in addition to the snickerdoodle cinnamon, but I can't recommend it to you because I think there's so much room for improvement in that one. In my defense, I made it four to five years ago. I'm going to fix it.
I've been diggin Brie and Bourdain in a weird way. Uses FLV cranberry very well. It's a brie cheese and cranberry sauce recipe.

Edit: How I thought this was about cranberry is beyond me.. DOH!
A bit off topic for this FOTW...but if you like that, try this:
Ingredient|% :---|---: Black Currant (Flavorah)|2.75 Brie Cheese (Flavorah)|1.75 Kinako Soy (Flavorah)|0.35 Saline (1.8% solution)|0.25 (optional) Sweet Fig (Flavorah)|0.75
Flavor total: 5.86%

I wish pumpkin, especially pumpkin spice is a thing here in my country. Generally then pumpkin are not a thing used a lot here. Sure I can buy a pumpkin at the supermarket, but that would mostly be around halloween.
Oh well, if anything I guess I can wing it and see if I can make something vapeable using my lack of experience.
Do you think it would be possible to make a nice pumpkin spice latte?
Possible, yes. The hard part of that isn't going to be the pumpkin spice, pumpkin, or steamed milk, it'll be the coffee. All of the plain coffee flavors are at least a tiny bit gross. If you didn't mind a caramel pumpkin spiced latte, WF Smooth Cappuccino Cream might get it done. If you don't want that, and if the pumpkin and other components can cover up for some of the imperfections, you might have some luck with DIY Flavor Shack Creme de Cafe, DIY Flavor Shack Cafe Coffee, VT Cafe Latte, VT Arabica, or WF Brazilian Coffee. But I think there's going to be a lot of trial and error and bad outcomes with any of those things. It probably won't be easy.
Have you tried MB Fresh Coffee, MB Double Mocha, VT Coffee Milk Froth, or Hangsen Hazelnut Coffee? Would they be possible contenders?
I have not tried MB Double Mocha but it sounds too chocolately unless you want a chocolate pumpkin spice latte (PSL). HS Hazelnut Coffee, also not tried, sounds like it might work for a hazelnut PSL. VT Coffee Milk Froth is a contender for the steamed milk, you're still going to need more coffee. And you've got to watch out for that one, it can be a little buttery even off a shake and the butteriness grows as it steeps. You might think you've got the recipe down and then two weeks later it tastes like it's filled with butter. I forgot about MB Fresh Coffee, that might work, you might need to crank it up even higher than 8%, but whatever, as long as it works, right?
I gotta give Two Thumbs Up to FLV Pumpkin Spice. It is to spice mixes what Rich Cinnamon is to the Cinnamon World - simply the best.
I haven't tried all the pumpkin holiday type spice blends out there to make such a bold statement but it sure is good, miles above the other ones that I have tried.
I haven't tried them all - but have tried many. My advice is to stop resisting and add 0.5% FLV Pumpkin Spice and 0.5% FA Liquid Amber to your favorite stone fruit and repeat after me . . .

GRIN - they really do have the spice category nailed.
Flv pumpkin spice is my favorite by far. On a side note, I seriously think a DX and/or V2 episode would be amazing. Depends on how much suffering you are willing to go through to find the 2 to 3 decent flavors out of those groups though
I'll put the DX's and the V2's in the flavor profiles/categories where they belong so I can stretch the suffering out over time rather than blowing it all on one week.
You really struck a gourd with me on this pun. Let's pumpkin spice things up!

I have tried only hs pumpkin pie and I rather quite like it. After 5 days it has a really nice mouthfeel if it’s just lacking a bit in the actual pumpkin department. Still haven’t tried yam yet, but looking at your list, I really had no idea there were so many flavors out there. I’m lagging in the new flavors department.
I tried to make a Pumpkin Pipe with HS but couldn’t get the HS to stand up. Hopefully after next noted, I’ll have a better idea of what to try next!
HS does mouthfeel very well. Was it a pumpkin flavor, or the spices, like cinnamon and nutmeg? I think the spices would go nicely with a tobacco.
Yeah I never quite got as far as trying the spices I had. I’m grateful the Noted gang will do the dirty work for me. :) I also wasn’t sure about the bacco flavor because the one I used was too much for the pumpkin pie, so I was thinking either skip the pumpkin altogether and go spiced like you suggested or keep slapping stuff together and see what sticks a la foment_life
I love pumpkin! I love pumpkin desserts and anything pumpkin spice. I only have two pumpkin flavors - VSO Pumpkin and CAP Pumpkin Spice. VSO Pumpkin is wonderful! CAP Pumpkin Spice I'm not too sure. I have been trying to come up with a pumpkin pie recipe and haven't been too happy with my results so far. I'm kind of thinking it's the CAP Pumpkin Spice throwing it off. I'm looking forward to learning more about pumpkin flavors! Noted is where I learned about VSO Pumpkin and VSO Flavors. I have bought several of their flavors and they've all been very good!
I like my pumpkins roasted, is there any fitting recipe out there?
I don’t know what pumpkin spice is. Only thing I like about pumpkins are their seeds. 🤔
Pumpkin is a profile I haven't tried to do yet, nor have I had a pumpkin juice before, starting to get interested in it. What would be a good pumpkin flavor for a cheesecake/pie or an ice cream?
I've just discovered FLV Pumpkin Bread. I don't think it's the most realistic pumpkin flavour ever. But it smells amazing in the bottle and works really nicely to add spice and an interesting bakery element to creams etc.
I used it in an all FLV recipe with Yam, a bit of Pumpkin Spice and some creaminess. I would upload it to ATF, but it keeps shouting '502 Bad Gateway' at me!
Edit. ATF let me upload it,

Never tried a Pumpkin vape. Would love a good pumpkin vanilla ice cream., any suggestions?
Pick your favorite ice cream base, I recommend The Trinity, and add something like 4% VSO Pumpkin and 1% FLV Pumpkin Spice.
Hangsen pumpkin pie: love it but you need so much of it in a mix to show up....like 8% or more...nice bakery vibe and nice cooked pumpkin.
VSO pumpkin: don't like it, too raw tasting, too bright for me, but at least you don't need much like 0.5 to 2.5%
FW pumpkin spice: haven't played too much with it so cannot really comment on this one but so far seems ok.... feels like it's missing something and if use too high it will take over the mix.
It's ginger. Ginger is missing from the FW Pumpkin Spice.
Oh yeah....I remember now, that's what you said during the last pumpkin episode... I got FW recently cause flv pumpkin spice is always out of stock where I buy my flavors ( seems like it's the best one )....will have to order a ginger flavor now or hope flv pumpkin spice will be back in stock next time....
Flv Yam should be on this list. I know its technically not pumpkin but thats what I get out of it. its a bit starchy but you can smooth that note out, Throw a little rich cinnamon and pumpkin spice and its delicious. If my name is chosen as the random winner, I forfeit it to the person under me or how ever you chose to give it away.
A pumpkin pie recipe that I enjoy! Needs three days at least...but is good off the shake... just won't get much pumpkin. I remixed this today and changed the sweetener to FW Sweetener, or recommend FLV Sweetness over CAP SS.
Ingredient|% :---|---: Cinnamon (Ceylon, Cannella) (FA)|0.50 Cookie (Biscotto) (FA)|0.75 Cream (Flavorah)|0.50 Custard (INAWERA)|1.75 Dulce de Leche (JF)|1.25 Graham Cracker (Clear) (TPA)|1.50 Holiday Spice (TPA)|0.10 Pumpkin (VSO)|4.50 Super Sweet (CAP)|0.75 Vanilla Whipped Cream (CAP)|2.00
Flavor total: 13.6%
the closest thing I've got is FLV Yam,and I think it's awesome. If you've got it and haven't tried Sweet Potato Custard I don't know what you're waiting for.
haven't tried pumpkin flavour but I'm looking forward to it.
I really need to watch this episode later tonight. Cheesecake is getting boring and pumpkin sounds like a great holiday styled flavor.
I can save you a lot of time, just get VSO Pumpkin and FLV Pumpkin Spice.
All of you on Noted are gordgeous humans.
You're only saying that because you won flavor packs two weeks in row.
You already won the Bakery #1 pack. If you somehow get it again, do you want us to draw another name? Will you take it but host some kind of giveaway of your own to pass it on? Or just hoard it like some kind of flavor Smaug?
