I've been vaping for 5 years now, but one problem annoyed me from the start.
I try a lot of recipes and they taste awful or like nothing at all.
I can't say in a recipe: Oh, that tastes like raspberry, that's cheesecake, and that's chocolate. For me, liquids only taste sweet and good or bad. But I can't seem to find out individual ingredients.
Everyone loves CAP Vanilla Custard, to me it just tastes disgusting and I can't taste the butter or egg there, it just has exremely disgusting offnotes. Apparently I think, i can't taste the profile of cakes and desserts. I mixed up some Cream-Stone Base and it tastes like nothing to me, I don't taste any cream there, I would really like to mix any fruit with cream. And before i forget: I can't taste TPA STrawberry Ripe or CAP Sweet Strawberry
However, if I mix individual fruits or recipes like Water-Malone from ENYAWREKLAW, then I can definitely taste the watermelon. Is there something wrong with my taste buds? Does anyone have the same problem as me?
I'm totally with you on CAP Vanilla Custard! Cannot stand it. But TFA Vanilla Custard works for me in mixes, at low %s, without a steep.
I also noticed that lowering sweetener use drastically over time has resulted in tasting flavor notes that I never used to.
FWIW, I also generally can't pick out flavor nuances of different coffee beans. They either taste good to me, or they don't.
I don't like 98% of the juice I've ever tried so I'm there with you. Out of the 100s of flavors Ive tried there are 3 that I liked as an adv.
MOV- Blue Ridge Tobacco (they changed the mix and now it tastes like Robitussin)
Blue Dot Vapor- Milk of the poppy (The just went out of business and nobody has figured out an exact clone)
Tribeca DIY- Really any tribeca recipe I've mixed I love the flavor of.
That's about it. There are some flavors I liked at first but by the second tank I was tired of it so I didn't count those.
Even though my batting average is so low I still keep mixing up new recipes. Eventually I'm gonna find another mix I like. Even if it takes me 200 more batches to find it.
Aye, anything with a milk or a yogurt tastes like rotten curds to me, no matter what the % in the mix. Can't deal with anything chocolate either, tastes like a burning tire fire. It's funny how that works, some people just can't taste certain things in the way they're intended. Interesting.
With the not being able to taste strawberry I remember reading before that supposedly it's a fairly common thing for some people, if I'm remembering correctly some of those people have some luck with tasting shisha strawberry (can't remember what brand it was)
If this doesn't hit you as a donut there may be issues
It's not really supposed to have any nuance other than being a fried cake donut. If you have the stuff, might be worth a shot as it's a pretty basic bakery and only needs about 5 days. Try it without sweetener first, can always add sweetener by the drop (it's the only thing I'll ever tell someone to measure by the drop and that's only in a 1-3 drops\30ml sense).
Cap vanilla custard is polarizing. It has a weird spice note that I didn't notice at first and after a few months off commercial it just got way too noticeable for me to like it as the main part of a custard base. Others have the same problem. Then I have fellow custard heads that jam on it all the time.
I know that I have taste issues, and that recipe would taste absolutely terrible to me. Cap Cake Batter tastes like chemicals and FA Zeppola tastes like weird spices, I can't stand either of those flavors.
i just gave CAP Cake Batter a shot yesterday and mixed it as a single , just to try out.
It tasted, like i vaped a bunch of Chemicals...
Sounds like you are Strawberry blind, it's fairly common, I suffer from that affliction as well. But I still want to vape strawberries and cream, so I've tried many different strawberry flavors. I'd suggest trying FW Strawberry for a non-realistic candy strawberry and OOO Strawberry (Ripe) for an authentic strawberry flavor. Of the 30 or so strawberries that I've tried, those two seem to work the best for me. Also, I completely agree with you on Cap VC1, that stuff just tastes completely disgusting to me. I really like TFA Vanilla Custard II. I've also heard that WF Vanilla Custard (SC) makes for a good sub for the Cap, but I cannot confirm this yet. I just got some in two days ago and it is still steeping.
