I want to get into making e-juice and I was wondering if I am able to use health store grade vg but I don’t know because I’m not sure if it doesn’t work. Help would be greatly appreciated.

You want to make sure you're getting pharmaceutical grade (aka USP grade in the US) VG.

Food grade VG is safe for internal use, but may have off-flavors that could ruin the taste of your juice.

Technical grade VG is not suitable for internal use.

You can buy USP grade VG and PG on Dashvapes, or FusionFlavors. Both are Canadian online stores that offer free shipping after a certain amount! Depending where you live the order can take anywhere from 2-7 days to get to you. Let me know if you have any questions!

While Canada has its own pharmacopoeia, everything you see will be labelled USP (including the stuff sold at Shoppers or Rexall in the "first aid" section - which are expensive, but handy in a pinch if you're out).

In my experience the taste of non-foodgrade vg is soapy and weird. Just order a gallon on TFA for $25

or a gallon from river for $11

I have bought my vg from river supply for the last year. It's the best price around for usp grade vg.

That just sounds like a good case of "you get what you pay for.." waiting to happen haha! Link?

Riversupplyco

Its USP grade. In that case you pay for pharmaceutical grade VG. USP grade is what we want to use for mixing.

The price isnt odd because the shipping is astronomical unless you qualify for free shipping, which is $50, at riversupplyco.

no not really, it's 99.7% USP grade which is what the majority of diy and commercial juices use

The nic there is too good to be true, but everything else is good.

Any VG labeled USP grade should be fine.

Please make sure you get natural plant-based versus animal-based. And as long as it's 95% anhydrous*, it's usable.

Humco (Fagron now?) is not only a retail brand, but read somewhere that they provide up to 40% of all VG that's sold over the counter. Many of those are re-labeled. They claim their labelled product is 99.5 anhydrous (pure).

_____*Meaning only 5% water, rest is pure VG.
