Opinion: INW Custard is miles above CAP Vanilla Custard
submitted almost 5 years ago by glassneighborhood22

When i first got into DIY i heard nothing but good things about CAP Vanilla custard. Many people seem to enjoy it and it is definitely a popular flavoring for a reason. While it is good i think INW custard is so much better. 1, INW custard only takes about 3 days to reach full potential in my experience. (Compare that to CAPs which can take like 2 to 3 weeks) 2, it seems to be much more forgiving when taking to other flavors, doesn't seem to overpower anything I mix it with. 3, its got a very full and rich custard flavor with absolutely no off notes. Obviously everyone perceives flavors differently, but damn. I have no idea why it isn't nearly as popular as CAPS. Anybody else feel the same? Since I bought INWs my CAP Vanilla custard has gone completely untouched.

I'm going to have to see if I have the flavors for this, I've made mamas custard a gallon at a time, looking for an easy custard edv.

I also agree Inw is superior to Cap. I like that it is more of a blank slate to work with. However you should try Tfa Vanilla Custard II also. Miles ahead of both to me. Also don’t sleep on Wonder Flavors custards

I can’t believe I don’t have it. One of these days I’ll place a chefs order.

Get the rebranded Craft Flavour

Do you have a good % to try it standalone to get a good idea of it? I tried it in a popular recipe and wasn't impressed.

I disagree caps v1 is so much more your taste buds must be shot

I use mainly INW as well, but I use Caps in few mixes, I also use TFAs in a recipe.

Never tried INW Custard, would I be able to substitute it for CAP with the same % or does it need to be less/more %?

Inw is more potent. 1.87% vs cap 3.04%

I’ve always preferred FA custard over Capella in the first place in a lot of recipes, but still prefer Cap with any kind of tobacco flavor. I’ve been considering trying some INW, but I’m at a point where if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Lol!

Vape Train Australia Warm Custard is my current go-to, FA Custard Premium after and 3rd place is INW Custard, but that's my personal tastes. I would use CAP v1 if I was trying to emulate an old school Custard juice though. It has a very specific taste that I can spot instantly. It's good but it's not really anything close to real custard in my opinion.

LNW is great idk why they get dogged on. I try to stick with them but they don't have every flavor. The ones they do have need little to no steep and are spot on their label.

Because of reformulations without notice

I've never had an issue and they ship from Arizona to Detroit I'm 2+3 days

Plenty of people had issues. The current one is their strawberry IIRC. Not with LNW, with INW

They can reform if they list ingredients and flavor is on point w no steep needed f it

Agreed. I'm not a huge fan of custard, but INW is the 1st one I reach for, then TFA VC2. I still use CAP now and then though.

I like it. I think it's better than CAP VC v1 but it's not perfect and can come across a little dry at times. I like to mix it with FA Custard Premium (3% INW Custard/2% FA Custard Prem - can go a bit lower but always sticking to that ratio) to make a near enough perfect custard. On a standalone basis I also prefer TFA VC II to CAP as I find it brighter and more pudding-like in some respects. I have the new WF VC steeping as a SFT at the moment and can't wait to give that a try too. WF have been releasing some great concentrates lately so I have hopes for it.

Tried the WF Vanilla Custard after a weeks' steep. Not hugely impressed TBH. Not even close to INW Custard or FA Custard Prem.

I better buy it before they change it.
