Need the best lime flavoring
submitted about 5 years ago by Redzer122

Hi, I want to make a raspberry-lime and Ive got the raspberry part down (syrupy, realistic and candyish) but I need to get the lime part down and I don't have a lot of lime flavorings I am wondering which one I should get ( I want a realistic bright lime with no traces of zest or rind, just a bright lime juice) anybody got suggestions? Thanks

You probably want FA Lime Tahiny distilled, it's bright and sharp without pushing into the zesty aspects.

others to consider would be FA Aurora and FA Lime Tahiny cold pressed.

Definitely don't consider:

  • TFA Key Lime - it's basically lime skittles. In the right mix, it's awesome, if you're looking for bright and authentic though, it's not gonna work.
  • CAP Lime - similarly candy but not as assertive
  • VT Lime Cordial - straight lime zest
  • FLV Lime - known to fade badly

> You probably want FA Lime Tahity distilled,

This, combined with CAP Lemon Lime (not CAP Lime)

You get your brightness from the FA LTD, the CAP LL supports it and moderates its bite while also being less susceptible to fading.

Don't live your life without knowing about FA Aurora.

FA Aurora is a lime-heavy, very sharp effervescent citrus and it's wonderful.

0.5 if I want it the background,

0.75 if I want it to be moderately there

1% if I want it strong

Check out the Episode of Lime where they break them down. Might want to think about layering your limes vs just using one

Noted Lime

Start with:

FA Lime Tahity @ 1

TPA Key Lime @ 1

FA Lemon Sicily @ 1.5

From there if you want more Lime, ramp up the Lime Tahity.

Thank you a guys, I bought fa fistilled lime and it is 90% what I was looking for, I am very happy with it and it even added a sort of fizzy effect to my recipe which is very nice! Curious to see at what % do you mix it at ? And what is your favorite lime to pair with it?

My dark horse vote is FA Florida Key Lime. I like the FA lime offerings overall but was very pleased with Key Lime. It fits what I expect of lime, but that’s a personal take!
