Asian menthol
submitted about 5 years ago by _wombat_84

So I am a new mixer. Have tried in the past but with little success. So I figured this time I would just mix up a simple profile from scratch, in this case mango menthol. So I just bought 7 or 8 different mango flavors and a bunch of menthol, as I will be using a lot of of menthol in the future. However, having worked at vape shops on and off over the last 7 years, I have had a number of opportunities to try juices from customers visiting from other countries. On two separate occasions, I have tried a Korean menthol apple and a Japanese menthol mango. These juices were insanely cold with absolutely no mint or medicinal aftertaste. Does anyone here have any experience with super cold Asian menthol liquids and/or flavorings? I would live to try to recreate that same experience.

Menthol is a flavor. WS-23 and FA Polar Blast together is ice

Malaysian Fresh is really fresh and cold for me, two to three drops per 10ml makes the liquid almost unvapeable for me, but keep in mind that I'm somewhat sensitive to menthol, koolada, mint, ws-23 etc but with malaysian Fresh I have to be very, very careful.

You're probably looking for WS-23, which provides a cool sensation without any menthol taste.

I love to use Menthol Cristals. Bought them In the pharmacy here In Germany. I solve them in 100% alcohol (vodka will probably do as well). Gives Very good freshness and no mint taste. I usually mix 0.5% - 1% of that menthol alc liquid in my e liquid and have a good experience.

I don’t have experience with it but I’d assume that pure menthol crystals would be the way to go to get the most clear taste, with none of the other flavors naturally present in mint.

Also there are a couple of other common “mints” namely carvone (the main flavor of spearmint) and methyl salicylate (the main flavor of wintergreen or birch essential oil). Maybe by trying some gum or wintergreen you’d get a sense if either of those compounds were worth pursuing.

Careful because all of these are deadly at fairly small doses and the flavors (that you would use to flavor your eliquid with) you make with them if you find pure substances should likely be in the range of .04% or even less .

Hi. I wouldn‘t go the menthol crystal route, I‘d just get Flavor West Menthol, a really nice clean menthol. And whatever other „deadly“ chemical flavors you suggested at low usage - that’s a no from me. It’s too easy to make mistakes. I‘m sure there are plenty of safe options to achieve an „Asian menthol“ cool vape.

They’re not that deadly (safer than nicotine) and mistakes aren’t that easy to make.

They’re also highly scented/flavored so any mistakes are pretty noticeable off the bat, and they should yield the cleanest strongest menthol(s) possible with the most possible customizations.
