FW Moose Milk - Flavour Review
submitted about 5 years ago by -DixxleRoo-Community MVP

Flavour Name: FW Moose Milk SFT at 5.5%, 60/40, 1mg. Tested on: Citadel, single alien SSL13, 0.54 ohms, 35w Steeped for 3 days

CONTAINS SUGAR SYRUP I didn’t realise when I first posted this review but thanks to the commenter below for pointing out that it does contain sugar syrup.

Flavour Description: fairly complex and pretty tasty. More of a cream than milk. Doesn't have any of the elements that would distinguish it as milk. A fair bit of vanilla. A bit of a spice note that that sits throughout the vape. It's kind of like eggnog without the eggy-ness. The spice reminds me of the spice notes in LB Bakers Touch. It's predominantly cinnamon and maybe a little nutmeg? It's a nice bakery type spice. The cinnamon isn't metallic or Red Hot-ish in any way. The spices are not as prominent as in Bakers Touch however, they're softer. There a bit of of a generic bakery note, especially in the finish. But I think it could probably easily be incorporated or covered in a mix.

Mouthfeel/ Texture: lovely smooth, almost velvety mouthfeel.

Off Notes: I don't know what moose milk is exactly so I can't speak to its authenticity. But it's pretty tasty and there's nothing that tastes bad or sticks out.

Throat Hit: none, very smooth

% Testing: at 5.5%, after 3 days it's pretty saturated and full flavoured. But I'd use it a bit higher as a SF. Maybe it'll fill out a bit more after a longer steep? It seems like a fairly weak flavour. I'm guessing around 5-6% would work as a main note in a mix.

Use and Pairings: it's a tasty flavour, but I'm not totally sure what to do with it. It's already fairly complex as a SF so maybe just adding a couple of other ingredients may be the way to go?

Would be great in some sort of spiced ice cream, custard or cream. It seems like it would work especially well in winter type recipes. It has that kind of feel to it. It could be a nice base for an eggnog. Maybe adding some sort of custard could add the eggy-ness?

I could see it being great with certain fruits, especially cooked fruit, like apple, pear or maybe darker berries. It could go really well in a baked, spiced pear and cream. It might need a little touch more spice and obviously some pear with something like FA Liquid Amber to make it cooked. But the Moose Milk would do a lot of the work.

Could maybe work in certain bakeries. The spice is a bakery type spice and it had a slight bakery note of the finish. As it's very creamy so it would have to be a cream filled bakery or have cream poured on it or something.

This is a flavor I wanted to love so much, but for some reason vaping it makes me nauseous. A few other flavors do that to me as well. TFA malted milk sometimes if used with certain flavor. Cap Vanilla Custard v2, FW yogurt.

Hmm interesting Flavor. I can see what your saying about using it in an egg nog flavor. Thanks for the review!

The real deal is basically a Canadian Navy eggnog, without the egg, and usually includes coffee (or Camp coffee and chickory essence) or Kahlua along with booze (traditionally rum, but vodka has made its way into the mix) and whatever creamy sort of thing happens to be lying around - eggnog, melted ice cream, or for the genuine "at sea on New Year's day, lucky me" flavour, tinned (evaporated) milk. Spices would be optional - it's a morning after drink. It lives on, gentrified, at various Provincial Lieutenant Governors' New Years levees and Legion halls. This take seems to be of the eggnog variety, but it seems the coffee note is either missing or so far in the background as to be lost in the mix.

Personally I thought the moose milk was way too sweet, I mix it with TFA cheesecake to cut it a little, and that's basically all I vape these days

It's so sweet because it has sugar syrup in it. It actually should be avoided. It becomes carcinogenic when heated up.

Does it really have sugar syrup? Damn! Ive been working on a recipe using it. Guess I’ll have to have a rethink. Thanks for letting me know.

Yeah. Flavor West is the biggest offender it seems. They have a handful of them. Bull City has them tagged. So I would just cross reference with them to check in the future.
