Seasonal Mixes
submitted about 5 years ago by cynicalmellinial

Here in the south we’re creeping up on fall and that reminds me of so many things. Apples, salted caramel, pumpkin spice everything. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are right around the corner and I’m dying to mix up some holiday recipes. What are some of your favorite seasonal mixes?

My first seasonal recipe is Fall Festival Which needs revising, but it’s pretty good.

Does anyone know a good caramel apple recipe?

You could try out my fall festival recipe sans ry4d but I’m not sure how it would perform without that ruyan profile. I’ve not tried any others yet.

My local B&M makes their own "VY4" juice in house, which I can only assume is just RY4 and Vanilla, though I'm not sure what brands.

Thing is, it's total shit and gunks coils in one tank. Pretty sure they make all their juices with extra sweetener in order to sell more coil heads. But I digress, is ry4 or any of its variants a juice known for gunking?

I always assumed it was the vanilla, as they have another one called "vanilla sunrise," and it's the sweetest, most destructive juice I've ever experienced. And I despise it.

I’ve tried a few ry4’s and haven’t had any unusual gunking. I’m going to guess it’s the sweetener. If I use 0.25-5 of cap ss I’m always amazed how fast the cotton turns black

This one is good but I subbed FW Salted Caramel at 2% because I didn't have FA Caramel.

I too would like a pumpkin spice, moreso than a 16y/o white girl

Flavorah makes a good pumpkin spice as well as pumpkin bread. I have both I have never messed with the pumpkin bread, my girlfriend has and she enjoys it quite a bit. I'm currently working on a pumpkin or sweet potatoe pie and I'm using the pumpkin spice. Its a nice mix of spices and not overwhelming, my last mix i used it at 0.30 and it was light, but I could taste it.

I'm looking for some good seasonal recipes as well, I'm not a huge fan of deserts, I always lean more to fruit flavors, but I've been on the hunt for some good fruit and cream recipes!

I'm still on a hunt that scratches my apple pie itch. I've mixed every apple pie recipe that's been published under the sun and made so many original recipes. The "premium" stuff I used to vape is no longer in production and nothing even comes close to how delicious that mix was :(

That sucks! I’m definitely going to try to develop an Apple pie before fall comes into full swing. Vaping that while driving through the mountains while the leaves change just sounds fantastic.

Brand | Flavour | Amount -------- | -------- | -------- FLV | Apple Filling |2% FA | Fuji | 0.5% INW | Biscuit | 1% TPA | Graham Cracker (Clear) | 2% LB | Vanilla Ice Cream | 2% FA | Caramel (Caramello) | 1.5%

The Fuji can be bumped to 1% if you want more of an undercooked apple "bite". The LB VIC isn't a core flavouring here, just an accent, and can be replaced with another good, heavy ice cream (CAP or FW VBIC, f'rinstance). The combination of biscuit and graham cracker render a better crust than most "pie crusts" do in an apple pie (with other fruits, not so much), and the slight honey note of the GCC works well with the filling. The caramel is only there to add to the "cooked sweet" aspect. Any caramel will do if you have another favorite, but you might want to bump up the amount with some brands.

It ain't perfect (is anything?), but it's really freakin' nice.

This sounds good! Never tried ice cream flavors with apple flavors! I'm gonna mix this up over the weekend. Thank you for the suggestion! :)

Out of curiosity what is the “premium” juice you used to vape? I too struggle with this and I’m wondering if we’re looking for the same thing. I despise any green apple/uncooked apple flavor in mine and they all seem to have that.

Noted had an episode on apples and there was one that ID10-T! raves about being an excellent cooked apple that you don’t have to mix with amber.

I've actually messed around with this thanks to Botboy's Awesome Apple Pie recipe. My big issue with a lot of green apple flavors is they have this off tasting black licorice note. Iunno if it's just me or what. Getting rid of that note would be a huge step in the right direction for me.
