Made my first juice!
submitted about 5 years ago by Zarlint

After a few weeks of reading and researching on making my own juice, I decided to take the plunge and ordered my supplies. Well they came in today so I made my first batch of juice, and I love it! Made the recipe Berry Creamy, and it's amazing how different the sweetness level is compared to commercial juices. I still really enjoy it. I'm excited to try out more flavors!

One pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you, don't do anything at all.
Go ask Alice, when she's ten feet tall

Wait until your completely diy for a month or two. Then try commercial ejuice. It will be so sickly sweet you'll wonder how you ever vaped it lol. Congrats on making the switch to diy.

I actually just did the same! Quite literally got the last of my equipment today and mixed my first batch!

I’m so excited, and also pretty pissed at myself. Pissed that I didn’t start earlier.

Congrats. That’s a perfect example of a 1-2-3 recipe.

Probably dumb question but what's a 1 2 3 recipe?

3 flavors, 1% - 2% - 3% flavoring

Meant to make it 3 2 1, accidentally made it 2 2 1, still good though. Actually, it's 2 2 1 1, I forgot I added Koolada there for a sec

That was my first recipe last week as well :) I had ordered enough flavors for like 2 recipes, already have another order on the way to branch out some more!

Also made my first recipe today, actually six flavours, all one shots. Realized too late that the nicotine I used (not great labelling so had to double check the actual order) was double the strength I thought it was. Luckily I made mostly 15ml in 30ml chubby bottles so will have to redo and add 15ml recipe with 0% nicotine. Boo hoo

I’m also at the starting point. I’m confused at which flavors to buy. Specifically looking at LA flavors raspberry and lemon/lemonade - unsure which ones are “safe” and I’m using that term loosely. Any advice is appreciated to where you got your supplies. I’ve looked at the starter guides and vendors - but some product listings aren’t super clear.

What site are you looking to order from? Bull city has concentrates labeled 'caution: contains x amount of x' so you can judge the risk for yourself, but as a general rule stay away from things containing sugars and oils.

Pretty much how he just described it. I also look up a bunch of various reviews on the flavors and recipes I look at to get a good idea of things

e-liquid-recipes.com has more recipes than you can shake a stick at! Also watch some of diyordie videos on YouTube, his Grape Soda recipe became my All Day Vape for the last year or so.

If you’re confused about flavours and you want to find out more info then maybe have a look at Noted. They do a show each week where they go through a load of flavours based on a specific profile, last week was ‘Sweet Tobaccos’ for example. But they’ve done pretty much every flavour you can think of by now.

Here’s a link to a playlist (it’s also available as a podcast under ‘In The Mix’), https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRP3MfkHmZ1_2-Z3W-Nh0qpidD4JyvJVD

There’s also the Flavour Facts pages. There’s tons of info there including the notes I wrote on episodes of Noted. If I’ve done them for that particular flavour profile they’ll be near the bottom of the menu on the left hand side. They’re not as entertaining as actually watching the show though. https://link.diyejuice.org/Facts000

There’s also tons of flavour reviews on Reddit. If you click on the ‘About’ tab at the top of the DIY_ejuice home page you’ll find them in there.

I hope that helps. As far as I know the uncoloured versions of Loranns Raspberry and Lemonade are safe. They’re commonly used and I’ve not heard anything about them not being safe. Loranns have a few good flavours, like their Lemonade and Watermelon. But most of the flavours they do has been done so much better by other companies. If you’re worried about safety Flavorah is specifically designed for vaping (they have a great lemonade) and all of FA’s flavours are safe and as far as I know DAAP free (FA Raspberry is one of, if not the best raspberry IMO). Besides a couple, like FA Whipped Cream which contain DAAP which I don’t think are available in the US anyway.

I hope some of that helps. It’s really confusing when you start out. There’s a ton to learn. Maybe start out by making a couple of well reviewed recipes from ATF or ELR. Then find a few more recipes. Keep going like that and build up your flavours until you feel like you know enough to start making your own recipes? I found it’s much easier that way.
