I don't know why I didn't get into diy sooner!
submitted about 5 years ago by TheGreatKingCyrus

Fairly new to mixing my own ejuice, only been mixing for about 6 months. Well this weekend I finished off a peach tea recipe I had mixed up, I was feeling lazy and didn't want to swap cotton so I just decided to finish off half of a bottle of Humble "Peach Pleasure" I had first. This is the first commercial juice I've used since I started, at first it was ok, nice change up but not even 2 days later and my coils are gunked beyond recognition and the cotton is a deep dark brown 🤮 previously I had gone over a month without swapping cotton. Just blew me away just how fast the commercial stuff killed my cotton and coils!

This has gone on too long, main point is I'm so appreciative of this sub and all the help it has been getting me into a new favorite hobby 👍 all of you beautiful people stay safe out there, happy vaping 🙏

I love peach tea flavors! Would love to try out your recipe if possible. Glad you are enjoying your diy adventures, keep it up.

This is the first try in making my own recipe, so it's not great but I was able to go through the whole 60ml instead of passing it off on one of my less picky friends. So I count it as a win. I let it steep for 24hrs and it was mostly peach, let it sit for a total of 3 days and the tea came through really nicely. The TFA smooth I use 1 drop per 20ml so not the percentage in the recipe. Also ended up adding 0.5-1% ws-23 to make it more of an "iced peach tea" all in all not too bad, next time I think I might trade the apricot and the nectarine percentages

Not until you diy do you realize how much sweetener is in commercial liquid, in diy that problem is in coffee and tobacco flavor to some degree.

For real! I had always read that and mixing my own I noticed right away the difference in longevity, I just don't understand why commercial juice goes that hard on flavor % and sweeteners when a simple 0.10% cap SS gets the job done and doesn't destroy my coils 😹

They are probably flavoring with people who just quit smoking in mind, people who have obliterated their sense of taste. I'm only a couple weeks into diy and kind of going half and half, using up my stash of store bought stuff while I figure out how to make my own and I can already taste mostly sweetener in my commercial liquids.

It didn't take long at all to come up with a couple pretty good recipes and now I'm wondering if I'm going to even get through my stash.

Congratulations! I learned here too. Great people. Started out single flavors, then One Shots now I mix my own and sometimes use One Shots. Problem is now I have 3liters of nic in 30ml Boston Rounds in my freezer. Not much room for food!

I feel you there, I have 2 gallons of nic base and 1 gallon of premixed 3mg 80/20 😅

If you are in the US there is a probability of a tax on nic raising a liter to thousands of $. Play it safe

Awesome to hear. I'm somewhat in the same boat, but have yet to find a good alternative to graham slam

Another reason they use so much sweetener is that the juice is just not that good and sweetener hides it

I've noticed that as well!
