Almost a year ago (-4 days, so lets call it) I posted our 50K milestone for subscribers here on our corner of Reddit. I am extremely pleased and only slightly surprised that we have surpassed the 60K mark here only after one year. Thanks to all you mixers who keep this sub afloat. The future for most US vapers remains mostly unknown right now, but rest assured that, as far as we know, mixing is the way to keep on keeping on.

Thanks again to all those who have grown this place into what it is now, and to what it will continue to grow to in the future. Also a special shout out to our newest mod u/TeslaDelMar for everything he has contributed and helped us with since joining the team.

“The power of mixing juice is still the greatest ever known in this endless eternal universe."
Cool. I remember when it was really rough in this place full of a bunch of elitist like people. Congrats, DIY_ejuice and Tesla.

Actually, I'm kind-of surprised we didn't gain a whole lot more new members. Had you asked me a few months ago where I thought we'd be on the eve of PMTA enforcement, I'd have guessed at least 100,000.
Most people don't want to fuck with it. Tbh, when compared to smoking, vaping is already enough of a hassle without having to make the stuff yourself.
I started to save money, but I find myself almost exclusively vaping unflavored because I usually can't be bothered to mix any flavors.
I still have a notebook that I wrote my first recipes in. Looking back at that notebook from 2013 is hilarious. I was mixing by volume, only using one flavor manufacturer, and had some terrible nicotine base.
At this point I basically have it down to an exact science. I only bother mixing the same 5-6 recipes anymore, and it’s more maintenance than hobby so I’m not active here at all.
It’s been wild, I started mixing 12mg juice for my Kayfun and now I’m mixing 0.5mg juice for pretty much everything. Maybe in a couple years I’ll finally be done vaping! I probably would have never quit smoking if I hadn’t been able to turn mixing juice into a hobby.
Wow, that's pretty cool! Nice to see so many people come together for such a good thing. Between this sub, discord, ATF and ELR, you all have made it easy to stay off the stinkies.
u/TeslaDelMar has contributed such an overwhelming amount of information, advice, and is always an incredibly kind and supportive of new comers. Like Kuri mentioned, complete 180 to how things were just a few years ago.
Also u/ID10-T for suffering through all those terrible SFT so we don't have to while somehow finding time to contribute tasty recipes, u/EdibleMalfunction and u/Foment_life for also cranking out tasty recipes but also for their never ending patience, u/isuamadog for the bacco testing and reports, recipes, managing MCv2, and just being fun to kick it with, and of course u/modivin who keeps VapeRadio alive and kicking with 24/7 non-stop "music to steam to." :)
The discord mods RainbowDragon with her tasty recipes and "no non-sense but let's have fun" way with newcomers, Hex who has been contributing on the discord, mixnjuice, Noted appearances, always posting fresh music in #tunes-room, knowledge in #current-events, and my two favorite Danes LilKittybit and Dico for their insight into flavors, tasty recipes, and keeping things fun in the discord.
You all make this sub and the Discord welcoming, accessible, friendly, informative, and most importantly, FUN! Just keep being your awesome selves. ♥️
Burley Bois represent!!! LoL 🤣 Just cus you guys stuck me in that group on our Discord, when I was totally happy being a member of the Brotherhood of Mutants, doesn't mean I don't ♥️ y'all 😋
point is I lurked and learned until I was ready to pipe up and ask what this was really all about and you guys came through. Now I have some experience and I'll keep learning even in the face of all the PMTA bs here in the states. Now I get to push people this way as well and we'll keep fighting for this alternative to cancer sticks. Together I believe we'll force these jackholes to get their heads out of their asses and accept that we no longer want to die a horrible death because they want money ✊
I think a real possibility is people don’t know about this place yet. The only reason I joined reddit was for this, and I felt like I found this place quite by accident. I think, had I not found my place here, as the PMTA takes hold, I would be stocking up on the one flavor house I enjoyed, and if that was no longer available I would resort to others that were. Then eventually as nothing became available, only then would I resort to how in the world can I make my own juice. Unfortunately, for many people, if the nic tax goes into effect, the price will be too high. And it’ll essentially be too late.
Edited to add; this, I thought, was a response to a comment about why the numbers are not in fact higher, given the PMTA. (I don’t know what happened.)
