Returning DIY'er needing to catch up on current developments
submitted about 5 years ago by Kilzon

I was getting into DIY mixing about 3 years ago and got out of it due to being busy with work and life, and the convenience of finding some cheaper juices that became my ADVs for a while.

Fast forward and now I'm wanting to get back into DIY. I still have about 90ml of the last batch of Nude Nicotine 100mg base in the freezer and all of my flavorings that have been stored in the spare bedroom. Planning to make another Nic order in the coming week, just so I have another 500ml in the freezer (or more).

Some of my ATF commercial mixes were, ANML Looper, Humble Unicorn Treats, Bird Why So Cereal... I think you can get an idea of my preferred flavor profile...

If one (or more) of you fine (or not so fine) people can suggest some good fruity cereal with milk recipes that might scratch my ADV itch, that would be superb. Nothing that includes the typical vanilla bean ice cream flavoring though. I apparently have an taste aversion to triacetin, which was used in a bunch of those flavorings. (Thanks to Walter @ Bird for helping me figure that one out, hate the pencil shavings taste that one leaves me with)

I had been using e-juicemeup for my recipes, but I apparently lost some of my early ones that I had tweaked to decency in a computer transfer (no idea how that happened and I've been an IT pro for decades...) So the ones I have left aren't that great. I'll be getting set up on ATF or ELR this weekend so I can keep my shit straight.

Also planning to switch to mixing by weight, instead of volume, already got the recommended scale for that (FAQ). Just gotta do it.

Any tips are appreciated!

Cereal mixes are tricky beasts

My go to is my own gimme the loops

I could swear that u/ediblemalfunction had one as well but I'm not seeing it on his ATF profile, but his was very good as well.

Toasted is awesome, as is Cereal Milk Frozen Custard. I might give loops a try with my next order.

BTW I really enjoyed Irish Coffee and will mix up Dreamsicle soon, thanks for sharing them :)

Thanks for that. I’ll check that one out and see if I have the flavorings for it on hand. I know that there a lot of new flavors out there since I last ordered. I got out of DIY shortly after the dicetyl and V2 craziness. Luckily the V2 stuff doesn’t taste like puke to me. But... they don’t taste like what they are supposed to be lol. I’m not all that worried about Daap in any case. Just couldn’t get the original formulas for a while.

I’ll see if I can find one listed by ediblemalfuntion as well.

First of all, good idea switching to by weight, so much less bullshit to mess with.

This is my favorite cereal recipe of all time. I have been mixing and vaping this in my rotation for about 4 years and it never gets old:

I am novice so my experience is: Mix by volume (eeit: i mean by weight) is best, better accuracy. Start mixing by low volumes, like 10ml, my first mono flavour salt was not "premium" so not much failure. Use calculator and print/write down reciepes, add notes after you steep and test it to improve.

Thats my tips, share yours if you come to any.

By volume? You mean with glassware and all that miserable nonsense? I guess if it works for you that's great but that's a hard pass from me.

That makes more sense.

Yeah. I’ve been mixing by volume and wish to be quicker and more accurate. Which is why I plan to switch to weight.
