Simple cream soda recipe?
submitted about 5 years ago by yacobbeatsstudio

Does anyone have any super simple cream soda recipes?

I've been trying to do something with champagne and some cream flavors but I haven't been able to really nail that profile the same way an actual cream soda tastes.

Thanks in advance, I'm always surprised with how helpful this group can be! :-)

If you like that pink cream soda pop from the 90s try out OoO Cream Soda.

6% OoO Cream Soda, 2% or more of LB Vanilla Ice Cream and some sweetner

Has been my ADV for months now

I’ll have to check it out! That’s exactly the type of cream soda I had in mind actually.

Have you tried VT Creaming Soda?

Came here to also suggest this and got distracted by the 2nd recipe! I have some new inspiration, thanks.

Haven't tried it yet, but this one looks good. The only drawback I see is tracking down those Hangsen flavors.

The one two I don’t have are the fa ice cream and hs tab blended lol. I saw this one earlier, but I’m not a big fan of hs French vanilla ice cream, I get a really weird off note from it even at 0.5%. Two percent sounds terrible for me. Thanks for the reply!

The first time that I ever tried HS FVIC, I thought that it was absolutely horrible, even 0.5% was completely noticeable and stuck out like a sore thumb. That was about nine months ago. The flavor either mellowed out and lost its potency or my tastes have changed because I now use it in my ADV.

I'm working on a cream soda recipe, I haven't nailed down the percentages yet & it's not really a simple recipe as I'm trying to incorporate tartaric acid into it (tartaric acid is an ingredient of the classic cream soda). But here it is in it's unfinished state (percentages are low, but you can always add to a recipe, can never take away...)

VT- Fizzy Sherbet 2% Strictly for the effervescence, IMO it does the best job of any other flavor for that bubbly effect. However, I have not tried VT Creaming Soda yet.

TFA- Sweet Cream 2% For the cream base, I used this because I find cream soda is actually more of a milk taste than a cream.

TFA- Vanilla Swirl 1.5% Gotta have vanilla in a cream soda & this one really makes it smooth. It can be swapped out for Vanillin, but I found vanilla ice cream flavors worked better with vanillin instead of the Sweet Cream.

FW- Sweetener around .5% Optional, I added a few drops.

I also tried FA Vanilla Ice Cream & TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream separately in this recipe, but it changed the profile from a soda to a float, so I removed them. But it was good & I preferred the FA flavor more.

With the ice cream flavors I also tried TFA Wintergreen at <.5, don't worry it's not minty at all, it's just a great additive to vanillas, it just seems to do 'things' to vanilla & blueberry mixes. Also if you decide to make a root beer, wintergreen is a must. But I digress.

Mix it up if you wish, Sweet Cream will probably need to be increased, Wintergreen could be added if you feel it's missing something.
