Single Flavorings That Thou Tested [SFT]
submitted about 5 years ago by RancerDS

Week 73

Hello again fellow DIY'ers! It's time for another edition of "what the heck does this taste like". This is the place to drop a comment or two about the flavorings you'd placed into your atomizers and vaped. While these aroma concentrates typically don't get re-formulated, how they'll taste to each individual will vary. Maybe you'd discovered a good-to-great stand alone or a better version of something that's already out there. It doesn't take a full on review to get the word out. So pull out those notes or bring those back-burner thoughts to the front and please SHARE?!

EXAMPLE (posted the previous week by /u/Hate_Feight)

>Flv jammy Berry - 2% - 4% Holly shit if you can taste a colour, this tastes purple! Sweet and rich a great combination for a small ws23 addition for a nice slushy flavour base.

i did some testing between Inw Prickly Pear V1 vs V2... sfts and in my Prickly Dragon recipe & u/ID10-t Prickly Peary recipe (ill insert links when ai get to desktop) while V1 is slightly more melon-y and a little less juicer. The V2 has a kind of kiwi/melon body which I feel helps it come across as juicier not as melon-y but still slightly melon-y (If that makes sense). For my Prickly Dragon recipe I didn’t really note that much of a difference between usage of V1 vs. V2. Now in u/ID10-T ‘s Prickly Peary I feel like the V2’s body worked better than v1 either way Dave’s recipe is fuego. Using V1 i tend to stick around 1-2% for me it gets muted, V2 I can take up to 3% without it getting muted for me. Both are great if you wanna add juiciness without using Inw Cactus. I got v2 from bcf and v1 from diyvaporsupply

I’m happy someone’s enjoying that Prickly Pearry recipe, I love that and the mango version I made

Love the mango version Dave. Wanted to like the Strawberry but I think the cooling took away from it and I want to give it another honest shot without the ws23

I really like FA Up and FA Wow and while I haven't tested them per se I am very familiar with how they taste. I mix them both at 3% in an 80/20 VG/PG mix.

I love Up as a morning vape, to me it tastes just like those long layered cream wafer cookies in the coffee flavor. The coffee taste is just a touch burnt and dark and pretty authentic to my morning cup of joe. The creaminess smoothes it out and there's a bit of wafer cereal note at the back.

Wow tastes like an artificially flavored strawberry jelly yeasted doughnut with a fine sugar coating. I get just a hint of cinnamon to it as well, but that may just be me. There's a decent amount of doughyness, the jam offsets it nicely. The sugar coating really stands out in the flavor to me.

Neither of these flavors need much of a steep for me, I usually mix them and leave them overnight before I start vaping on them. I will usually put 2 drops of super sweet per about 15ml depending on what I'm feeling. I need less sweetener for Wow.

Edit: it's worth noting that Up will seep it's coffee essence into your wick. Don't vape it if you don't want to be tasting coffee for a while.

No problem, thanks. =] I really enjoy both of them. I like a lot of FAs stuff...except blackberry.

FLV vanilla pudding

I couldn't really taste anything at 3% and upped it gently toward 5% until I did. Man this stuff is tasty! Creamy taste and mouthfeel. My initial pairings have been at 2% with FW caramel cinnamon roll and CAP sugar cookie respectively. Both have been fire. Next up is mixing with JF yellow cake.

Edit, added percentage

Edit 2, Just mixed it with TFA graham cracker clear, delicious.

Salub Arome - Breakfast (Strawberry Jam on Toast) 3%/ 4-day steep

This is toast with strawberry jam at one of those uppity restaurant labeled as “molecular gastronomy”. I get strawberry skin that was chewed up burped at me and it’s less of a jam and more of a smoothie strawberry. The toast isn’t toast, but it is toast. There are burnt edges of a yeast foam that are garnishing the boba balls filled with strawberry gas. This is the definition of a flavor to build a recipe around.

Salub Arome - Pain Grille (Grilled Bread) 3%/ 4-day steep

Same concept as the toast from Breakfast, but dry like God intended. No butter, nothing savory. It does come across like it’s supposed to, but it still needs a fair amount of help.
