Hello there guys n gals,
I've already searched the internet to hopefully find an exact answer to my question/problem.
I live in the EU and buying nicotine results in dozens of 10ml bottles with a strength of 20mg/ml. This leads to a lot of waste and it's absolutely annoying to mix some juice. So I ordered some 500ml nicotine in 72mg/ml on nicotine hub in PG. Besides that it arrived at my doorstep super quickly and undamaged they've sent me their VG version and after opening and dividing it into smaller amber glass bottles I noticed that it kinda smells odd, it reminds me of dried mushrooms.
So I went on the internet and read that if nicotine smells like fish it probably leads to bad VG. Well, I don't know how dried and/or rotten fish smells like but it isn't odorless. It doesn't taste peppery and the liquid itself is still clear but just want to make sure if I just got unlucky and received a bad batch.
I've already dropped them a message and waiting now for their reply.
UPDATE: just in case someone stumbled upon my post. I've contacted them and got a reply, that they're super sorry about that I got delivered with the VG nicotine solution instead of the PG one, which I originally ordered. They also informed me that the smell of their VG solution is normal due to their extraction method. Plus they've sent me another 500ml bottle in VG in no time. Very satisfied with their customer support and service.
Hi, as QueenBuzyBee says, 72mg nic does have an odour that you won't have noticed if you've only used nic shots up to now. To me it's a faint toasted sock smell. I don't know how dried mushrooms smell but I imagine that's the same smell. It's not lovely, but it is normal. It is also likely to get a bit stronger as time goes on. As long as it doesn't taste off (peppery), it sounds fine, but there's only one way to know - try some in a mix.
thank you for your reply.
>To me it's a faint toasted sock smell.
Lol, how do you know how that smells? :D But in all seriousness I bet it should be the same. I've sniffed the bottle for a little bit longer this time and it kind of reminds me of an ashtray which hasn't been cleaned for a longer time after heavy usage. Unfortunately, I don't have any around me so no real comparison for now.

I know how old and oxidized nic in eliquid tastes and it's not even remotely close to it. I've mixed up some best damn pink lemonade since I know how its taste without nic and with the nicshots I've used before and there is no off-taste when I mixed it with the one I recently ordered. I guess I should be fine.
I use 100mg/mL and it does smell kind of like an ash tray. It smells like nicotine basically. The smell isn't present in the mixed juice once the nicotine is diluted so it's just smells because it's stronger. As long as it's clear and tastes fine I don't see any problem.
Hi. If you tried vaping it and there isn’t any off taste to it, then it should be fine and I would use it. Nicotine has a chemical smell/taste to it. The higher the concentration is, the stronger the odor. That could be what you are smelling. I try to avoid ordering and having nicotine shipped during the hottest months of the year. If it’s unvapable, I‘d ask the vendor to replace it. It’s always a tricky situation since it’s illegal to buy or import 72mg/ml in most countries. Good luck.
Thanks for your reply. You learn something new every day. Since I've digged through various google search results it always leads to it's bad if it's smelly, but good to know for now.
Yeah, I probably haven't chosen the best time to order some nicotine from overseas but paying 2.5€ for one 10ml bottle is getting out of hand, especially since I've switched to diy and have been mixing up a lot of 10ml samples :/
As I've already mentioned in my other reply; I've mixed up some liquid that I'm used to and know how it tastes with and without nicotine and thankfully there aren't any off-notes to it after mixing it up with the recently bought nicotine.

I'm absolutely aware of the risk I've taken here and I was super nervous to begin with when placing the order and receiving a shipping information including tracking. On top of that, my husband had to take the package because I wasn't at home during the delivery period and if there would be fees to pay, he'd be extremely mad.
OP im in the EU aswell, I didnt know we were able to buy anything other than nic shots?
Did you buy it from the US and have it shipped?
That nicotine would definitely alarm me as well. I buy 100mg nicotine and it's always crystal clear like water and has zero smell or taste. Doesn't matter if I mix 3mg or 18mg, no peppery taste or off smells. Just straight flavor. Sounds like you need a better nic supplier.
It was my first time reaching out to some seller in the UK to get some higher nicotine, in both quantity and strength. I can only compare it to the usual 20mg/10ml shots which are sold here. While it's crystal clear and it has zero off taste when mixed, the smell kinda put me off and let me wonder if there's something wrong with it. Will wait for the reply of nichub, if I will ever get one.
IDK know what those other people are on
good nicotine should be pretty much odorless, if you really can't notice when you mix with it then it might be fine to vape
OxidiZed nicotine won't kill you, it's also possible it has something to do with how it was extracted
I have nothing in comparison besides the regular 20mg/10ml shots you can get here and they smell like nothing, that's why I've asked this question here.
I mean, you only notice it's odor when holding your nose a few millimeter away from the bottle opening, it's not like it fills the whole room when opened.
>it's also possible it has something to do with how it was extracted
That came in my mind also, haven't found any information on their website sadly. Still waiting for their reply.
