Vape Calculator

Looking for some constructive criticism on the look, and maybe some functionality to add .

Ever since i started DIY, i have been looking for a inventory management system for my concentrates, Nic, PG and VG. I have installed the big few calc's like juice grinder, ejuicemeup etc, but they all felt so clunky. Jumping between different menu's to get stuff done and some steps dont make sense. I also like the fact to have something local, maybe because I grew up pre-always on internet.

So I'm taking the lockdown as a time to create one. I'm no coder, and basically running on what i taught myself.

The Mix page will also be home to the recipe's, so here one can add new recipes, which will be populated in the drop down. Update current recipes (add/remove a ingredient, change a % etc) and mix will update the stats for the amount's mixed, and also update the inventory.

It will show a ing in red if it uses more than what you currently have in stock.

It will automatically add a ing to the shopping list if there is less than a predefined ML left.

It will show the total cost of the current mix (still coding that)

Steeping will have a calendar view (or maybe just a list view) with which liquids are done on which date.

Shopping List will show a list of items I need to buy, either manually entered by clicking shopping cart on the inventory page, or when the threshold in ml's get triggered while mixing.

Calculators, I'm thinking of putting in a few random quick calc's, like adjusting a bottle's nic, PG/VG Ratio, quick calculate how much (bulk) liquid i can make with existing nic on han, etc.

Flavours can be increased and decreased by the + - for a max of 15 ingredients

(oh and yes, it says flavours, not flavors and has ,'s not .'s because I'm South African xD)

The steeping, inventory and shopping list is 90% done, but still needs a nice GUI so not sharing them yet

Cant add images for some reason, so i uploaded to imgur

I like the look, reminds me of the mixejuice calculator (which is the nicest looking calculator, IMO). As for functionality, maybe an export feature to a .csv file and a recipe history feature, so you can see visually the changes you have made to a recipe over time, if that would even be possible. Also maybe just a simple text box for notes.

Great catch on the mixejuice site! I actually drew some inspiration from it, and credited the site/owner in the about. Because, i agree, def one of most visually appealing calculators out there.

For the notes, i have a recipe notes box right above the stats.

Recipe history is a good idea, will def keep that in mind

duh, I looked right at the recipe notes & didn't see it, glad it wasn't a snake ;)

Cool, I hope it all turns out the way you want it too. I like the idea of a local program too, so I'll use it because it sounds like it ticks all the boxes of what I would like to build (if I had programming skills)

Looks nice! Please remove the limit for 10 flavors. Unless that becomes a deal-breaker oh, I would think the ability dad sings like Saline and acetyl pyrazine, MTS, and sweetener and Trinitys Etc could push the envelope. Was there a hard fast reason that you chose 10 as that magic number. Why not something completely unlikely like 25 ingredients? Unless it'll break the program. It just seems like that particular limit if it could be avoided...

I have it on 15 flavours at the moment. Taking it to 25 wont be to hard. But the space on the form might be a challenge. When im done, i will check how to space 10 more in there

Oh. I see the "max of 10 flavours" in the OP. I edited it to 15 now. It previously was 10. Then a few on the discord also asked for more.

Looks nice, but I don't think I'd want to use a recipe app that doesn't include a searchable recipe sharing/collaboration platform a la ELR/ATF.

Hi. Is there a link to imgur that I‘m not seeing? There are quite a few good calculators out there already. I mean, it’s good to work on something for yourself to keep you occupied. Just not sure of the need. Good luck in your endeavor.

I gave up on inventory control. I wanted to use the batch inventory on ATF but I didn't want to pay for the function. There's some guys that do inventory thru excel so that's what I did

I had mine on access. Built a small little GUI for it and someone else saw it and wanted to use it. There was so much prep work to be done before installing that, make sure you have office, load this patch, install that etc. And that's how/why this was born.

Excel is amazing though
