With the upcoming regulations and expected tax on nicotine in planning on buying 2 liters of nicotine. This will last me at least 15yrs.
My plan is to keep everything in the freezer except a 60ml bottle, that will be refilled with the nicotine from the freezer, that will be kept in a drawer with my flavorings.
I know that a bottle is listed to have a shelf life of a year but know of people getting much longer than a year from a bottle. But realistically how long will the nicotine last before it goes bad?
I have a bottle of 100 mg/ml nicotine in PG that's been in the freezer for over seven and a half years. Still perfectly clear, use some a couple months ago and it was absolutely fine.
That's great. I'm hoping that I'll have enough to keep vaping until they get their heads out of their asses and have reasonable legislation.
You don't want to refill from a freezer bottle. Nicotine doesn't like being subjected to constant temp changes. Split into smaller glass bottles and take one out as needed.
That's how I've been doing it and works out great. Divide my 1L down into separate 60ml amber bottles with polycone caps and keep one working bottle out. Pull the next bottle out when my current working bottle is almost empty.
Last question, nicotine is something you Should get before it’s too late but does any see the flavors and other elements of making juice becoming a hard to get item?
I don't see anything other than nicotine being hard to get since they have applications outside of vaping.
Here in finland where all flavors but tobacco are banned and you can only get 10ml of 20mg nic base (basically a nic shot) for 8€ everything else is still easy to get so i wouldn't worry about it.
Where do you guys buy the nicotine? Also is bought just as nicotine, better mixed with pg or vg?
You're best off buying it in a propylene glycol solution. I'm not sure if it's kosher to source around here but someone will hook you up if it is.
I get mine suspended in PG. The last bottle I bought from Liquid Nicotine Wholesalers has been really good. I always bought from Ecigexpress until they stopped selling nicotine because of the Washington state regulations. There nicotine was pretty good.
I just got myself a bottle from liquid nicotine wholesalers as well and I couldn't be happier with the product. For one they ship way faster than river does and the nicotine is way smoother for me and the price wasn't bad either it cost me like 58 dollars and change shipped for a liter and they shipped it pretty quickly unlike riversupply where you can wait up to 5 days and I always like how they Vacuum sealed the bag it was shipped in.
Do you store flavors in the freezer too or can they sit out in a dark place and be fine?
We are having the same regulations in Finland. The regulations came into effect in 06/2018. I have been storing nicotine since then in my freezer. Im pretty sure that PG nicotine will last longer than VG. I don't know if this trick has any particular effect on the nicotine, but I prefer to re-seal the bottle with aluminium foil. The freezer gets opened regulary and I don't want to expose my nicotine to air.
What upcoming regulation is this!l?
I keep all my nic in the freezer. I have a 1L bottle and a 30mL dropper that i use to mix. I take the dropper out of the freezer a half hour before mixing and it works fine. Whenever the dropper runs low I refill it with the big bottle. I haven’t had any problems, though it has only been 4 years so far
Nic goes bad pretty damn fast in PG at room temperature
I recommend you mix like a few hundred mls of flavourless at a time and keep that in your drawer instead
i Make 70/30 or 70/20 flavourless then all I have to do is add flavours and pour in smaller bottles, it really speeds things up
I've kept a 60ml bottle at room temp for mixing for the 2yrs I've been mixing. That 60ml lasts me around 6 months. I've never noticed a difference.
That's surprising when i tried it went bad in weeks your call but mixing big batches of flavorless still saves alot of time and they last years
I have nic in freezer vacuum sealed and argon gas sealed in glass canning jars that is going on almost 10 years. I test my nic for strength before use and it has dropped from 100mg/ml to 97. It is crystal clear. I suggest you use a test kit when storing nic long term. You can test for peppery taste by dilution in unflavored juice. That will also let you know if it has gone bad.
