Hello again from your lazy neighborhood robot. This time, I am back to host a giveaway!
A few months ago, BullCityFlavors added a recipe pack for Custard NOW!
Custard NOW is an amazing custard recipe made by our very own u/EdibleMalfunction. If you haven’t tried it yet... first, what is wrong with you? Second, now is your chance!
A special shoutout to u/zany1337 and u/humanpuck for making this donation possible!
So here is how it works! I have 10 of these recipe packs (10ml of each flavor required to mix it) to hand out. Anybody is eligible to win! All you have to do, is write a comment explaining why you want to try the recipe, or if you’ve already tried the recipe, why you like it.
The winners will be randomly selected one week from now. If you are in the U.S, your shipping will be covered. If you are located anywhere else, you will unfortunately have to cover shipping.
Og recipe is one my favs. Just wanted to comment on how incredibly versatile the recipe is. Can vape as is or add just about anything you want to it and it is absolutely delicious. I use this all the time when I have mixers block or to introduce friends to diy and how much better it can be than commercial e-liquids. If I was selected I’d rather vape it forward and send to one of the newer members or somebody from a banned state. I’d encourage others to do the same
Well I'm kind of a custard nut. I vape custards 24/7 bit am limited to my flavorings that I have so I usually just make something super simple. Would love to try something more complex! Thanks and good luck everyone!
When i started diy, i was just trying fruit flavors. Now that i am more familar with mixing, i would like to branch out into desserts and creams. And this recipe would be perfect since it doesnt take long to steep.
Thank you for the opportunity to win these flavors.
I would love the chance to give this a try!! I have been shying away from custard recipes for a while now due to a few cream flavors that I have a hard time with. It would be nice to have options and be able to adjust it as needed to my personal taste :)
Thanks for the opportunity!
I would like to try mixing it. I'm a desserts fan.
It would be my first DIY. I have the nic in my freezer, the PG and VG are ordered and en route. I've just been biding my time before I pulled the trigger on my first flavors because I wasn't sure where to start.
I would like to try custard now as I'm still learning mixing and have a few custards at my disposal but haven't really mixed any yet. I've tried BCF Bust-A-Nut and Best Damn Pink Lemonade so I know the community flavor packs are good. I'd love to see how this one tastes.
I’m not here for the entry. I’m here to echo that if you haven’t tried Custard NOW you should add it to your mixing list.
Don’t like desserts? Add a fruit to it.
Don’t like fruits? Add Custard NOW to one.
Don’t like bakeries or fruits? Add a tobacco to it.
It’s such a super versatile recipe that on a dare I added LB Blue Raspberry and INW Shisha Strawberry to it... and it worked. It was a car wreck of taste sensations and so weird altogether, but I vaped the entire 30mls.
I have not mixed a juice in about 3 years. I would love to get back into it.
This seems like good motivation to take the plunge again and make that upfront investment to save myself some money in the future.
If you want to get back into DIY you should join the Discord server. There are a ton of helpful people there that can assist you and save you from making a lot of mistakes.
A lot has changed in 3 years with the flavors and they can steer you in the right direction.
I have not tried it but would really like too. I gave been mixing my own for a few months bow and cany seem to get it right. Everything imake is harsh except for the tastemaker collection from liquid barn. It would be real awesome to have something that might be vapable so I feel more encouraged to keep trying
I am outside the US and it's probably not worth dealing with the postage hassle but I wanted to thank you for doing this giveaway. We as a community are a bit besieged at the moment and seeing this sort of sharing and support keeps me positive and hopeful for the future. Cheers.
I haven't mixed acustard in probably over ayear, mostly because many of the ones I did try weren't very good and it's hard to know what recipes are actually good. However, I would assume that something sold like this at BCF would actually be good, as it has definitely been tested and liked by multiple people.
Thank you to everyone that has made this possible and for giving back to the community!
I have yet to come up with a custard mix that works for me, and I don't have much patience for recipes that have tons of different ingredients, so I feel like this is something that I definitely need to try, whether I win or not! =)
Very cool of you to do this.
Not an entry. I just want to comment that this is a very tasty recipe! If you like custards, you will love this one. Thank you u/EdibleMalfunction for sharing this with us. Thank you u/zany1337 and u/humanpuck for the donation. Thank you u/UnappreciatedRobot hosting the giveaway.
Only flavor missing is FA Madagascar Vanilla. Already have most if not all the main vanillas (except their Bourbon which I’ll pick up next order along with Custard Premium), so trying to see if that flavor has much use beyond this recipe and a role to play in my inventory that other vanillas don’t, or if it’s just like a slightly more sophisticated vanilla swirl?
Recently tried a custard I forget the name of but it was Wayne’s recipe of the year for 2019 and it was lights out so would like to try this one.
FA Madagascar is a more natural vanilla flavor, I've heard it being compared to the vanilla extract used for baking. Not even comparable to Vanilla Swirl, which is like cheap soft serve ice cream vanilla, but in a good way. You do know that you have to order Custard Premium from the UK, right?
Yup, planning to make a yuge order from Chefs next time they have a sale.
That has always been my thought about vanilla swirl as well, cheap soft serve ice cream. However, if you look at how it’s used and read the notes of those recipes describing the purpose of each flavor, it pretty much plays the role of a plain vanilla like extract does in baking. If you want a more complex and deep vanilla, you go with shisha vanilla but that’s about it.
There are a bunch of other vanillas but they’re prominently specialists so they’re narrow(er) in focus and less versatile as they’re better suited to achieve a specific objective rather than serve (no pun intended) as a broad flavor profile. At best, these flavors play a supporting role for vanilla or are meant to be a custard/pudding/ice cream as opposed to just an ordinary vanilla like extract. For example: VC1 is a custard, VBIC is ice cream, LB VIC, CAP Vanilla Cupcake, and Vanilla Whipped Creams.
I’d love to try this mix! I’ve been mixing for a few years (I used to be active here when I was still experimenting a ton with my recipes!), but I have never tried a mix with INW custard as far as I know. I have had CAP VCV1/V2 and FA custard. Would really like to give this mix a shot, especially because I like my cheesecakes with the CAP NY Cheesecakes as well!
I have a some sweet flavors but no custard flavors, or anything to make a custard recipe. One of my old vendor favorites was a vanilla custard though, so I'd definitely love to give custards a shot. Making the same two recipes all the time gets boring real fast lol. Thanks for the chance and good luck to everyone!
Not an entry.
First, thank you for doing this. I like to mix other peoples’ stuff and see what I can learn. Ed’s always got a touch for creating simple recipes that are satisfying without overflavoring. Custard NOW is a shining example of that. It also happens to be one of the few custard mixes I’ll mix and not get sick of.
Just got back into making my own e-liquid and have been looking through flavors for diketones flavoring so I can show my fiancée that cream flavors don’t have to taste like stale old milk or vomit.
This recipes especially reminds me of the old days of cream recipes.
Is it weird that I have over 280 flavors, and not a single custard among them?
When I first started vaping, I tried a commercial custard e-juice. I don't remember its name, but I do remember very nearly throwing up. Perhaps, after all these years, it's time to give custards a 2nd chance...
I mainly vape fruit profiles these days. When I used to vape commercial e-liquids, I had tried a couple custard juices and to be honest, they weren't very good. Im guessing that was due to using flavoring free of diketones. Since I started mixing, I haven't really tried any custard type recipes. Congrats on the BCF flavor pack Ed!
Id definitely like to try this recipe mainly due to PTMA coming up and Im learning about making my own mixes! Ive already ordered my 100mg/ml liter of nic vg base and and working out what Im wanting to start my first attempts with and believe this would be lit to start with
I purchased a 10ml bottle of INW custard a few years ago, but never really enjoyed it in a custard recipe. I used the last of that bottle to mix your recipe and have to say this is the first time I’ve actually enjoyed that particular flavoring. Never would have guessed something so simple would be so tasty. Loved how the NY cheesecake gave it a nice mouthfeel. Custards, cakes, desserts are definitely my jam so landing one of these this flavor packs would be awesome, especially since I ran out of INW custard. First world problems, I know...
Not sure if this was already selected or not, but ive been vaping for years, dabbled in diy once probably 3 years ago with Vapewild flavors, and just recently dived back in. Ive only got 9 flavors and am running very low on many. Would love the opportunity to try out a tested and true recipe!! Thank you
