I tried lots of liquds with tobacco in their name, but nothing really got me except RY44 and HHGRY4. So i got into NETs a few years ago, when i read about them in a forum. I ordered four of them and was happy to taste real tobacco flavour. Used these then to add some authentic and some dirtiness to the Ry4s.
When i ran out of HHGRY4 three months ago, i discovered this subreddit and watched noted episodes on tobacco and ry4 and started trying some more tobacco NETs. So here's some quick review of seven of La tabbacheria NETs i tried and vape.
Set up: Kayfun v3 mini with SS316 1 Ohm at 8 Watt TC
Testing: 5% 80VG/20PG 6mg nic, Steep time 5 days (same as after 1 day)
Profiles: NET Tobaccos
Offnotes: all tested NETs have no offnotes and taste just like tobacco smells without the burned parts. As single flavours they don't need any steeping. When mixing them with other flavours they can get a sour or astringent taste, that needs support or sometimes a few days of steep. All are coil gunkers and SFT i'll get offnotes from the gunk soon after about 1ml. In a mix i'll vape 3-6 ml before rewicking.
The review starts with the lightest up to the darkest flavour.
Linea Elite Mata Fina
Description: Bright cigar tobacco, very light sweetness, round taste with full dry mouthfeel. Reminds me at the smell of Monte Christo cigars. Hints of pepper and it tastes like the room smells when smoking cigars.
Mix: Well with vanilla, cherry, Bavarian Cream, probably custard, caramel, I used it with vanilla for pipe and it vapes well.
Note: Suggested percentage: 5% Single flavour = full cigar 0.1% - 0.2% as a "dirty" accent, i would go up to 0.5% in a mix I use the 5% mixed flavour around 1ml per 20ml
Linea Elite Piloto Cubano
Description: Bright, gray Cigar tobacco. Not sweet, a bit sharp and medium dry mouthfeel. Taste like Partagas Cigarillo, faint hint of fruit on the exhale.
Mix: HHGRY4, Vanilla, probably cherry or plum, Bavarian Cream
Virginia
Description: "red tobacco" (Marlboro?) full mouthfeel, very dry, like sitting under the roof of a barn full of hay on a hot summer day. Light sweetness, like a filter tipped cigarette. A little ashy. On exhale hint of cinnamon.
Mix: bakeries, cinnamon, maybe fruits
Kentucky
Description: Wow, tasted a few "tokes" of Kentucky. Very dry and very authentic cigarette (minus the ash) like taste. Like half-black roll-your-own tobacco (or Camel w/o filter). Tastes like opening a fresh pack of tobacco smells. Good balance between sharp, black, spicy tobacco and blonde bright tobacco.
Note: Definitely no ADV for me, but good for morning coffee or an evening at the bar with a beer.
Mix: HHGRY4, Vanilla, Caramel, Bavarian Cream, i see no fruit with this one
La Tabaccheria Mixture N. 1
Description: Tastes like Vanelle tabacco, nuances of spicy black tabacco, warm "red" tobacco note. Full mouthfeeel, gray bit dark, some sweetness, little ashy or smokey. Mild to strong complex round flavour.
Mix: Well with bakeries, Caramel, Vanilla
Burley
Description: Dark, black tobacco, like a darker version of virginia, woody, oak nuance, leather notes, dry. Heavier throat hit than Kentucky.
Note: i use this to add some real tobacco flavour to some RY4s
Black Cavendish
Description: between halfzware and black tobacco. Full smooth mouthfeel, fine cut, hints of sweet liquorice, little bit cigar like high note. Reminds me of a pipe tobacco. Not very dry.
Mix: Vanilla, Caramel, together with Mata Fina
four of the above were part of my ADV:
7%HHGRY4 and 0.1% Piloto Cubano 0.2% Mata Fina or 7% HHGRY4 too. 0.3% Kentucky 0.2% Mix N. 1, which i tried after reading Fears Cardinal and never let down a single day for two years, so heavenly tasty.
You should try the 4pod line, or even better the 4pod extreme one. They are nets especially designed to be used in pods (not trough filtration, but with another technique they call the “selective purification”).
They managed to make non gunky nets that taste delicious (I fell in love with the white Latakia, and I couldn’t believe at the taste it has, while keeping your coils clean like it was a non net eliquid) !
First, I want to thank you for this post. NETs are such a niche still that most people kind of go off on their own and rarely come back to tell the tale of the promised land. The rewicking constantly is a thing, some brands and flavors better than others. I’m looking forward to hearing if you have more reviews up your sleeve as I’m not gonna be happy if you sneak one in AFTER I order from abroad. La T has a good reputation and, frankly, the way you described them, they all sound good :)
Especially interested in that Kentucky and burley now, but really all of them. That settles it!
you're welcome. i did a review of all the flavours i have from LT. So there wont be any update, soon. However as u/xvagabondx pointed out they have this 4pod edition, which i'm most likely to try. I imagine them as flavorah's tobaccos like more coil friendly. Tbh, after trying theses NETs i thought i would be done until the end of my life, since they are so highly concentrated. But it intrigues me to compare the coil friendly ones from FLV/LT vs. the NETs in the near future. Would advise to also test Mata Fina, as it is the most authentic cigar flavour i've ever tasted.
I heard good things about LB, they don't use maceration technic like others do, they extract directly from tobacco (maybe ultrasound extraction, i don't know) which means they are strong in flavor and shake n vape, i was thinking to try them, can you compare it with stixx mixx, if you already try it ?
