As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a category of flavor and its many uses. And it's also to have FUN!
Post recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using that flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic.
#This week, this is also where you can comment to win the Beverage-Type Flavor Pack ($70 value!) from Flavorah and the new Flavorah recipe book!
This pack includes Flavorah's Elderflower, Back Bar Bitters, Bourbon, Brut Bubble Wine, Citrus Soda, Coffee, Cola, Eggnog, Elderflower, Horchata, Irish Cream, Juniper Gin, Mocha, Morning Mimosa, Raisin Rum, Root Beer, and Tequila Agave.

I’ve never had an elderflower before but this ice cream recipe is something I could probably like. Elderflower Ice Cream by u/staybert

Co. | Flavor | %
---|---|----
FLV | Elderflower | 1
HS | French Vanilla Ice Cream | 0.75
LB | Vanilla Ice Cream | 5
TFA | Vanilla Swirl | 1.5
I've got that one mixed up to try this weekend
It’s just pizza’s Ice Cream and whatever an Elderflower is. How simple is that? Gotta love it
Elderflower is a delicious floral flavour. An elderflower cordial/liqueur is kind of like honey infused with floral sweetness, with notes of lychee and citrus. It's often referred to as "Bartender's ketchup" for it's ability to harmonise with so many different flavours.
St. Germain Elderflower liqueur is beautiful. If you want a cocktail recipe where it can shine, here's a couple of my old favourites from my cocktail bartending days:
Elder Fashion
2oz / 50ml Dry Gin (I like Plymouth or Tanqueray)
1/2oz / 12.5ml St. Germain
2 dashes orange bitters (grapefruit bitters are also great here)
Garnish: Grapefruit twist
Method:
Stir all ingredients over ice (a large glass full, less ice dilutes quickly and you won't get the right balance) for about 30 seconds. Strain into a whiskey/rocks glass with a single ice cube. Twist the grapefruit peel over the glass to release oils, rub around the rim and drop in.
Elderflower Collins
50 ml Dry Gin (I like a floral gin like A V Wees 3 corner here)
15 ml St Germain Elderflower Liqueur
5 ml Luxardo Maraschino liqueur
30 ml Freshly squeezed lemon juice
10 ml Sugar Syrup
25 ml Club Soda
Shake everthing apart from soda with plenty of ice for 30-40 seconds. Strain into a tall glass filled with ice, then top with soda. Garnish with a lemon slice/wheel. Some fresh herbs also make for a lovely garnish, providing aroma whilst you drink.
I think elderflower flavours could work really well with a lot of drink vape mixes. I meant to look into this a couple of years ago, maybe this summer is the time...
I think a good elderflower concentrate has the potential to make a really nice lemonade or another refreshing type of summer drink vape I’d really enjoy
Elderflower Dreams by Kopel is a One Shot I got at Chefs a while back. Its exactly the profile you`re asking about. I highly recomend it. Lemon + Elderflower + Touch of Citrus, very well balanced.
I don't have the flavor myself yet, but that sounds like it would be really good to make fruity type of tea out of. It would probably pair well with FA Black Tea, I got a good herbal tea kind of kick out of it. Would just have to be careful to not make it too sweet.
I had high hopes for elderflower citrus combo, but inawera elderflower is just too harsh. Makes me cough, and there are some off notes as well.
Speaking of simlar-ish flavors, any good chamomile or rosehip flavors?
yoda fucking soda mic drop
Apart from my 2 recipes featuring FLV Elderflower (which has been named in other comments), one that I really like is Springtime by Kopel.
I like elderflower as a beverage. Nice and refreshing during summer time - Tried out the FLV Elderflower, and came to the conclusion, that I'm not a fan of the profile as a vape.
It's too damn floral - Which I guess isn't really something you can avoid, since it is a flower .. but .. yeah.
Excited! FLV Elderflower was the first flavour I ever bought.
Favourite recipe is Summertime by cheebasteeba. Great balance of my favourite things: floral, fruity, weird and cool.

Does anyone make Elderflower other than INW and FLV? Maybe something with a nonsense type of name or something from an obscure Flavor House? If not, it's gonna be a short recipe-heavy week for the Noted crew.
Those are the only two I know of. I have both, as well as 9 new recipes to try this week, one one-shot to try for the first time this week, and four recipes I've tried in the past. Of the four I've already tried, /u/staybert 's Yoda Soda stands out as being especially awesome.
Cheers bud, also saw in another comment that you're gonna try the ice cream, can't wait.
Have to admit I have only tried FLV myself, but I absolutely love it. Has to be one of my favourite flavors actually, not that I vape it very often, but it's so unique and just... spot on elderflower. Where I live we use it in cordials quite often, esp summertime, and FLV just nails that flavor that I'm so used to.
If you're feeling creative and have time, I'd love for you to make something with Pear and Elderflower. It's kind of where the yoda soda pairing came from, but I think that combo (when used with the right pear) could be freaking amazing. I hear good things about MB Shape Up, unforch I don't have that one on my hands right now.
I have zero idea what a elderflower smells or tastes like. Hopefully with there only being a few of these flavors you guys have a recipe or two that sounds interesting to me, so I have a reason to pick one of the concentrates up. I was also curious who's recpie ginger butter is? I picked up a few one shots and this one says its Noted but doesn't say who the mixer is. Either way I really enjoy it :)
I always have a bottle of Elderflower cordial in the fridge i could drink this anytime, if i could realistically recreate Elderflower taste it would be my ADV. Will need to order some FLV Elderflower to find out, can imagine it pairing well with Cactus/Apples/Pears
Is elderflower as big of a thing in America as it is in the UK? Does it grow anywhere in the US? It grows wild everywhere here. I like to pick it to make elderflower cordial. Goes great in cocktails or just mixed with water. Yummy!
I’m not sure what an elderflower is or what it is suppose to taste like... or that it even is thing. Im going to look into this. On another note, how do I participate in the Mixin Vixens weekly profile mix? I looked for their Facebook group and couldn’t find it. Can anyone help me out?
Hi guys,

Really looking forward to this weeks profile. Only have FLV Elderflower, which is amazing, congrats FLV on that one. I'm guessing there are not many brands with this flavor, and you'll dive into some recipes.
I'm particularly fond of Elderflower Dreams by Kopel. I've had a go at cloning it, but find hard to nail down. As a sort of base line I've been using:
FLV Elderflower - 0.75%
VTA Fizzy Sherbert - 1%
FE Lemon - 0.4%
LA Lemonade - 4%
In my latest version I like adding 2 drops of FLV Lemongrass in a 30ml. If anyone has tried the recipe would love to hear your thoughts on it....
I’ve tried it, you’re missing the pineapple
Pineapple, really? Wouldn't of thought of that in a million years. I'll get back to the drawing board. Hugh Tip right there, thanks..! Do you get that touch of FLV Lemon Grass? Pretty sure its there....
Irl i'm not really into cocktails ,but recently had what they called a gooseberry gin mint julep , which was basically gooseberry gin with elderflower cordial ,mint and ice . Now I want to vape that so I'm looking forward to noted to see if I can pick up some tips . I have flv elderflower and vt and fa gin ,numerous mints and sasami gooseberry so I guess I'll start playing with them .
Don't really have anything featuring elderflower, but i can say the beverage flavors would be awesome. I've got TFA Cola and Kentucky Bourbon which I've been messing around with. Still working on my cola recipe... Whenever I get back to it LoL... I've thrown some Kentucky Bourbon in a tobacco recipe that came out pretty nice so that's a plus 👍 just kinda been out in left field this week 🙃
There's not a lot of elderflower in the diy game...guess you will probably talk about some recipes and how to use it... it doesn't matter cause it's always a good show! I only have flv elderflower but never used it, I will try 1 or 2 recipe that you gonna suggest. See ya later!
Hmm elderflower? Only floral that I really use is hibiscus, but I'll def watch the episode just to support ya's, & see if any flavoring catches my eye!
Which elderflower would you guys recommend for a standalone-ish profile? I love elderflower lemonade 😁
FLV
Thanks ID10-T! Funny, I just mixed up some of your viserion recipe - seems great off the shake, very excited to see where it lands after a steep! May be a new favourite of mine !
