Pg/Vg advive
submitted over 5 years ago by yolomcswaginabx

Hey so I've just started using short fills. I've been using a shop bought vape liquid so far which I'm assuming was more pg based as it had a throat hit. The 0mg short fills I bought are 70vg 30pg. They vape so smoothly and I think it's nice but dunno if im missing the throat hit or not.

Anyone got any advice. Does the longing for the throat hit dissopate? Or should next time I get short fills (won't be for a few months as I bought 500ml and 50 NIC shots ) should I switch it next time for a more pg base?

Concerned I might reach for the tobacco more often to get the throat hit in the short term.

Most likely the difference in throat hit is due to a difference in the type, amount or quality of nicotine.

I don't get any more throat hit from 50/50 than I do from 70/30, but some brands of nicotine are noticeably harsher than others...and nicotine salts are a whole different story.

And in ur opinion. Do u prefer a throat hit ? Or a smoother vape ?

Depends on which device I'm mixing for. I put 10-12mg juice in the discreet MTL devices I take to work with me, 6-7mg in sub-ohm tanks and 4-5mg in the RDAs I use at home.

Not op, but for me it depends on the flavour, some are better with higher vg and lower throaty, some with lower vg and higher throaty, sorry to say you can only know what's best for you with experience.

You can just add stone pure pg and bring that closer to what you are used to if you wanted (online calculators can help with this)

Gotta have that throat hit. But I drip and even at 1.5% nic, it's a nice throat hit

it’s possible you’re slightly allergic to PG, lots of people are. if there is too much PG i get a pretty similar feeling to what would otherwise be described as “throat hit.”

just makes my throat a bit burny, for me it usually happens at about >55% PG. if i were you i’d take some PG and let it sit on your skin and see if it irritates your skin, or just test out different percents.
