Vessel to store NIC while oxygen purged
submitted over 5 years ago by Web_Hoon

I've been searching the internet for a storage bottle or something that can be sealed with argon or nitrogen and still be freezer safe. I'm aware most people say that kept with minimal oxygen and in a freezer that nic will have minimal degradation. But I would like to find something just to give me the extra assurance of being air purged. Has anyone seen such a storage vessel? Suggestions or recommendations would be great. Thanks

For years I've always kept my nicotine in the freezer in its original bottle and never had any issues at all.

You can buy a spray can of Argon to displace the oxygen in your bottle. It is typically used for wine, but works well for nicotine as well.

That is an awesome product/idea. I'm assuming you would repack the nic into a glass bottle and seal that way? But this is great, I will definitely look into this.

Yes you could still do as the others said and move to 4oz amber bottles. I would just spray this directly into the larger bottle I had without issue. It definitely made a difference in slowing the darkening of the nic Here is the product on amazon

Argon is heavier than air, so even just a little will "float" on the surface of the nic and protect it.

I have found out recently that a bottle of argon will last more than a lifetime

Glass is far superior to any plastic in terms of keeping out oxygen, and is freezer safe for nicotine concentrates (they don't actually freeze anywhere near the temperature of a household freezer.)

Hi. Most everyone I know, including myself, splits their nicotine into 4oz amber bottles with polycone caps. Leave a working bottle, that you will use within a few months, in a cool dark space (drawer, etc.) and freeze the rest. You can additionally put the bottles into ziploc bags before freezing, but it‘s not really necessary. Please make sure your storage option is childproof! Good luck.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will definitely keep that in mind. I do like to go a bit overboard with these things so I will see if I can find an oxygen purging solution. If not, this is likely the road I will take. And as for safety, I have a separate freezer only accessible by me. Thanks

if you fill the bottle to the rim and use a polycone cap, its going to purge the oxgen, as well as the nitrogen, and everything else in the air :) just be sure to do it over a container to catch whatever overflows and gloves shouldn't need to be said, but yeah.. gloves.

its the same ... the air IS purged, just with nic solution instead of a noble gas.
