adding to a pre mixed base liquid to change ratios of vg/pg, how to work it out?
submitted over 5 years ago by Lifeformz

I can't get my head around this. I have 60vg/40pg pre-mix and I'd like to get to 80vg/20pg so if I took 100mls of it, how much extra vg would I add to make that 80/20?

You need a calculator. Flavor will affect your pg ratio. You can get the ratio back in line using something like this https://ecigvape.com/e-liquid-combining-calculator

I've looked at calcs but never managed to get them to work, but trying that it's worked for me, aka my brain can use that. Thanks!

100 additional mls of pure VG to reach an 80/20 ratio.

Hi. Just a suggestion, in the future, I would buy VG/PG and nic separately. That way, you can mix it a whatever ratio you‘d like. Stay safe.

I do tend to, got some in fridge that I can use with it, but I couldn't get VG or PG, don't remember which one the 2nd last time I ordered some flavours, so just got a pre-mix.

Lets look at the (not a math person) math (even though you've found the answer).

100ml of 60/40.

=
60ml vg 40ml pg

well let's just start adding to the vg to make it right?

  • 60 = 120/40 = 60/20. Closer
  • 80 = 140/40 = 70/20. ok, getting the system
  • 120 = 180/40 = 90/20. Fuck
  • 100 = 160/40 = 80/20.

so with the most basic of math (which is about my peak ability) we've got 100ml added to get you your ratio.

same idea with flavors, but a whole tonne more guessing.
