Harsh nicotine
submitted over 5 years ago by kurtZger

I used to mix but stopped last year when I reordered a bunch of supplies and juice was harsh as hell and I didn't have time to figure out why. Now I got time. I reordered nic and a few flavors and same thing again so I FINALLY read the FAQ and it's the nic (mixing at 3%) no nic tastes fine. Is there anyway to make this nic less harsh or is it bound for the trash? Thanks!

It's probably oxidized and worthless now. Give the container a smell and see if you get that harsh, peppery odor. If so, throw it out.

I bought new, less than 3 months old and in the freezer but it does smell peppery..

A dark pink tint is usually a bad sign too. I had a bottle that went unused for a year in a cabinet that I tried to use recently. Had to throw everything i made out.

Is it the same nic as last time? Different brands might have harsher nics from my experience

I like Liquid Nicotine Wholesalers 100mg/ml freebase and salts in 50/50. Never had a single problem with it and very good price. I bought some from a couple other vendors and had nasty nicotine a time or two. Nicotine River sent me some nasty PurNic once and sent a replacement which was also nasty and then refunded my money so I cannot complain about that but good gravy that shit was nasty deluxe. Great customer service and I still buy PG VG and flavors from them but no nicotine.

I've had cheap nic before that was just harsh to vape. Either suffer through it or find yourself a new nic supplier. I've been using the smooth salts from riversupplyco and they are nice.

It's to brutal to suffer through and I have vaped some gas station garbage in a pinch. Thanks for the recommendation but never messed with salts before. I thought that was geared towards pods and I'm using an RDA (the drop)

That is a common misconception due to the way the commercial juice industry adopted the term of "salts". Only high-nic salts are for pods and MTL. Salts can also be mixed at low nic levels. Many of us use salts at 3 and 6mg for sub-ohm use. They are super smooth at these low nic levels.

3% is 30mg. Do you mean 0.3%? Where is the nicotine from?

Yah, that's what I meant. Vaping zone. 120ml 100mg in pg

Not familiar with vaping zone. Not all nicotine is created equally. We have some common vendors listed here. The Vaping Zone is not one of them, so their nicotine may not be of great quality.

I'll look. Still would like to find a way to mellow out what I have in the mean time if it can be done.

The base has nothing to do with the nic being harsh.
