Ordering from Chef's
submitted over 5 years ago by gaslightredditorMissing One Flavor

Thinking about placing an order from Chef's just to get some FA Custard Premium. I'll actually be ordering Flavour Creative Custard Prem, but from what I've read, that's just a rebottle of FA Custard Premium.

Is there anything else from Chef's that's worth ordering that you can't get in the US, or at least hard to get?

Alternatively, is there a usable substitute for FA Custard Premium in the event that I don't actually order?

I currently have CAP Vanilla Custard and INW Custard, would either of those be a decent substitute?

FA Milk and FA Corn. Chef‘s Choice Pear Drops and Devon Cream. Maybe hard to get Inawera/Molinberry flavors. I‘m sure there are many more, but that’s what comes to mind atm.

I saw Wayne's review of that and said it much better than the original so I was probably going to pick that up instead of the original

I've used this a bit lately and its a great vanilla custard. I actually like it more than Custard Prem personally.

Same, i’m really liking this TFA VC2. The FA premium is too thick/fat/buttery for me personally. It’s good for what it is, but it’s not really for me. VC2 is perfect, creamy, vanilla, little butter and little egg. More milky then other dairy, plus excellent vanilla tones. Mix with some yellow cake (no FW obviously) and you’re good to go. Current mix for me today, cap yellow cake, tfa vc2, tfa double chocolate. Very nice basic chocolate cake, fluffy and moist

Bit old but I doubt anything has changed https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/bjvkxf/vt_concentrates_available_at_chefs_vs_bcf_20_off

VT is a bit tricky to order but they are quickly becoming a favorite of mine

I did see that thread when looking for decent FA Custard Premium substitute. The couple that I looked at are now carried at BCF, so I would double check before ordering anything. VT has been growing on me too. The few things that I have tried from them have been good.

FA Custard Premium is very similar to TFA Vanilla Custard, but more concentrated. Both are a smooth, vanilla forward custard. CAP VC is darker, thicker custard. I have never used INW Custard.

Thanks for the info. I'll pick up some TFA Vanilla Custard on my next order. In the meantime I'll probably make a small sample batch using each of the Custards I have on hand.

Make sure you pick TFA Vanilla Custard II, not regular TFA Vanilla Custard!

FA Milk is awesome and FA Whipped Cream is pretty good too.
