Impact of Covid-19 on the supply chain
submitted over 5 years ago by SirTimmyTimbit

What do you think would be the short term and long term consequences of the pandemic?

Flavors are more or less in stock everywhere, but I'm just wondering if some of them might be hard to find in the near future.

Are the domestic companies like TFA / FW / Cap / FLV still in production?

Flavour Art is based in Italy. I assume they've been shut down for the majority of March?

Inawera is based in Poland, Hangsen in China, Wrecka in Malaysia. I wonder if there's gonna be a disruption in supply from those companies.

If there's a shortage, I'd assume big name juice brands would get first dibs on flavors simply because how much they buy. There's always other industries that use those flavoring, I don't know how big that market is. Do you think DIY shops would be able to secure stock?

Suppliers for the food industry are considered essential businesses (at least in my country) and as such are allowed to continue production (I doubt there is a fine diffrentiation between the various types manufacturers for the food industry).

TFA shutdown being based in California, they said they could only fulfill orders if a supplier of there's had stock located in a warehouse outside CA.

I did want to place a second order at Chefs during there anniversary sale but they didn't have stock of anything I needed.

I did get an order last week from e-aromashop for my INW needs, only shipping option was DHL as the post option was already shutdown.

River Supply has been shutdown by the state of California. Pretty much most CA based vendors are gonna be shutdown.

I would definitely not hesitate to order if your in need, no telling what the next week or 2 will be like.

Same man. It was a month long 27% off sale and I caught it on February 28th. I thought I had enough time to make up my mind...then next thing you know it's March 31st and a few key flavors are out of stock :(

Didn't realize River Supply was temporarily closed - I understand, but it's a bummer 😕 I slipped in just in time and received an order from them this past Tuesday: 8 liters of VG, 4 liters of PG, and enough flavors to keep the wife and me in our favorite flavors for the rest of the year!

Also got the flavors I need to make enyawreklaw's Water Malone, and I just mixed it up - it's great!

River supply sent an email stating that they were ordered by the county to shutdown April 1st. They were able to ship out all there orders they received prior to that but were unable to take new orders.

I was thinking they would be able to stay open considering they are a big distributor of VG and PG but that was not the case.

Flavour Art here in Canada is still open - I know someone who works there.
