Anybody else prefer INW Custard over CAP vanilla custard
submitted over 5 years ago by daybydayeveryday

Seems to have a richer fuller flavor to me and without the nasty taste that CAPs custard has right off the shake.

But what if you want your custard NOW?

Hey, but what if I want it in 48 hours?

I should use it in a mix with Holy Vanilla and Cap NYCC

That sounds like a really good idea. Let me know the results.

Imho Cap v1 wins. But like other poster said it does have to steep.

I've not/barely used CAP's v1 since I got INW's.

I much prefer the aroma/taste. You don't have to use as much so technically cheaper. It has seemed easier to make decent recipes with. Little to no steeping required.

Yeah, INW Custard > CAP Vanilla Custard v1, I can't stand CAP's version because it has a nasty aftertaste even when it's done steeping. I just hope INW doesn't fuck up reformulating it.

I prefer inw custard. Otherwise I'll use FA custard premium before cap v1

No. I prefer Capella Vanilla Custard version 1.

p.s. Inawera has a bad habit of reformulating flavors without telling any one, and tend to make them worse. I won't use any more Inawera flavors.

So you're going to stop using all of them?

Yes. I've already had to reformulate one recipe because of it. Wayne Walker talked about it. This issue has come up three times in the last week. I don't need their flavors.

What flavor did you have to reformulate the recipe for?

You can't shake and vape custards for the most part. CAP needs more steeping.

Going to find out this week if I like it.

Breaking news: Scientists have discovered that e-juice gets better after it has steeped.

I've had it after a proper steep, I was just noting that INW Custard has the benefit of being nice for a shake and vape

I prefer Molinberry Legendary Custard and FA Premium Custard over both Inw and Cap v1.

Yes! Those two are the first custards I've really liked.

Cap v1 with a slight heat steep is amazing in 2 days. Good shake and vape just a little hmmm sharp

V2 sour throw up..

TFA new vanilla custard is pretty good tho

Gonna have to order that one tho

Heat does not and cannot replace time, thus steeping. Steeping is essential as is patience, but believe me (or not), it is so worth it.

I'm sure. I have used this method side by side with standard steep and it tastes close enough to me to mot be worth waiting over a month for my juice.. I bet 90 percent wouldnt notice the difference.. others that use my juice dont notice it either. I get that to a wine connoisseur that a 1789 vintage whatever tastes better than some other new wine. But 90 percent of the population dont have the palate to notice.. no different here.. it becomes a time vs reward issue..

How does one heat steep juice?

The easy way non technical way without temp thermometers. I use hot water from coffee.pot and mix with cool water so it is hot enough that I dont want to keep my hand in it but not hot enough to burn it. Insulated mug and let it sit till it cools to room temp with cap off. Then cap and shake it.. take cap off and squeeze to let fumes out.. replace in cup.. repeat.. I do this 3 times.. after the 3rd time I have a nice yellow color.. it doesnt change much after that so I stop there.. now it still doesnt taste any better really but u let it sit shake and then let air out by squeezing. Or can leave uncapped.

You can also just put in crock pot on low

The 2nd day after the flavors come alive in it. I vape a VCT clone So I use cap vanilla custard French vanilla. Marzipan Grahm crust Ry4 double Tobacco blend Super sweet Smooth AP

So a lot of these require steep and they become full bodied and come alive on the 2nd day. Before that just sharp ans thin.. now I have made the same blend and left it steeping. After 1 month the taste was very close to the heat way. So I know for a fact that it works for me. I have also noticed that vape juices have a window where they taste the best, to me, this is all subjective anyway. So I really like to make about.60mls at a time of the vct and killer kustard clone. I feel it tasted the best in that size. Meaning it takes me about 1.5 weeks to go through that much. So I use up that size in 2 weeks to a month max.

Ahh I never thought of a crockpot. Can you just leave all your juice in the crockpot uncapped for two days?
