Am I doing it right? Juice steeping
submitted over 5 years ago by AnomVaper

Howdy DIY'ers!

Juice steeping - I have all my current recipes chilling out on a shelf with my current mods that I rotate through, each morning I'll shake each bottle nice and good, then before I hit the pillow each night I'll give em another shake.

Room is dark, constant 15-20 degrees Celsius.

Is this sufficient? Or should I be doing something else also?

You don't even need to shake them all the time. But yes, what you are doing is what you should be doing. Keep in mind not all flavors need to steep. Some are better right away

You've about got it down perfect. Shaking is a good idea but not entirely necessary every day, but it is a good idea if you do remember to do it. The key ingredient is time, and no direct sunlight (in fact darker is better in general).

I know you're joking but don't those get hot?

Yeah but if you took the heater out and put a light bulb underneath it for a little warmth, it would be a great bottle mixer. Round and round.

I heat steep.. I can get the same flavor in my vct which is a vanilla custard tobacco in 3 days that I get in a standard steep in 3 weeks..

Should I steep with or without a cap/seal on the bottle?

Never leave the cap off.

Steep with the cap on, unless you want to lose important flavor volatiles.
