Get nicotine in 100% PG, and separate from PG & VG. Don't buy a kit. And If you're buying flavors LB doesn't have that many good ones. River Supply would be better for a first purchase, just don't get their scale. I think LB has the LB-501 in stock so if you're set on buying from liquid barn you should pick up that scale. And read this-

I’ll look into river supply, I heard the scale liquid barn has is good so I was just going to go with that one but didn’t know if I should get their flavorings or just go some where else to get flavorings
River supply won't be shipping any time soon
> If you're buying flavors LB doesn't have that many good ones.
Bullshit they don't.
TFA, FA, LA, IW, FW, etc etc etc are an absolute gamble for finding something that can even be used in a mix or alone and have many flavorings that are used as additives (sours for example). Capellas is a bit better about not being such a gamble to get a decent flavor, but not by much.
LB on the other hand is very consistent to the point of being able to be used either in a mix or entirely alone. Most of their flavors are vape-able if not all of them and are very decent if not pretty damn good.
I've been doing this since 2013 and I will never recommend that someone start with TFA, FA, or any of the others above due to the difficulty of using those flavors or just getting anything that can be vaped at all (without gagging) or just the fact that those companies' flavors require that they be used in a mix most of the time (needing quite some time to learn how to mix properly).
Over year years I've purchased something like 150+ flavors from various companies above and probably 40% of them are even usable. LB on the other hand - 100% have been usable.
They also tend to ship pretty quick.
Damn. I would check out some noted episodes or start reading reviews of flavors we have archived right here on Reddit. Sure, I have only been doing it for a little over 3 years. But I'm batting close to a 1,000 when it comes to flavors I've purchased that were usable. INW always has a secret reformulation bullet pointed at our heads, but that's one company. When it comes to recipe development I figured buying the wrong flavors for the profile would be a waste of time and money. So I researched them. Original poster, we have most, if not all of LB flavors reviewed right here. Along with a shit ton of other ones. You only have to fly blind if you choose to. But back to you. 7 years and only use LB. You're missing out on life man/woman. They do ship pretty fast though.
Get either 100% PG or 50/50 PG/ VG. Just because 100% VG is hard to shake up as it’s a lot thicker.
You need to shake nic whenever you use it to make sure it’s evenly distributed throughout the solution. Other than that it doesn’t make a difference. Hope that helps.
LB has great (like the best) vanilla ice cream, and a great blue raspberry... aside from that the mentions of river supply/bull city are right on the mark.
I just buy the base, it’s slightly more money then mixing your own base but less of a headache. I would also recommend buying some sweetener if you plan on picking up there brand name generic flavors like green apple.
Thanks for the help! That was the first “flavor” I picked in there selection I was honestly think just buying the bases from them then getting the scale off amazon and going to bull city flavors and picking stuff up from there so that I get good flavors because I’ve heard liquid barns flavoring isn’t the best
There flavors are fine, but lacking in sugar if you are used to premade juice. I like the one shots they sell water-Malone is excellent
I prefer PG, as it stays thinner in the freezer, and it’s more versatile for my MTL and DL setups. That being said, people who use higher VG liquid may want to order in VG. I mix 50/50 or 70/30.
Liquid barn has the scale kit in stock for 35. I'd probably grab scale, nicotine, pg, vg from them. Then order flavors from Bullcity.
I'm new at diy too.
I purchased this scale for $15.99 on amazon which works great and you can turn the auto shut off - off. It has a built in rechargeable battery.

At liquid barn, I purchased the pre-mixed unflavored base in 0 mg and in 3mg to mix it for 1.5 mg. The nicotine has a bit of a bite, more that I prefer, but mixing it with the 0 mg made it work fine. I didn't like any of the "One shots" that I bought from there. I also didn't order screw on lids and that was a mistake.
The pre-mixed liquid barn base is fine for my immediate need. I will probably make my own base as my confidence grows.
My 2¢, I'm a fan of the 500ml 50/50 100mg (I make some high VG juice for some friends) nude armor v2 Nic from nudenicotine.com and the PG and VG pour bottles from liquidbarn.com
I can't remember where, but I found 60ml syringes and some fat lure slips that are great for making big batches.
The v2 armor is great for easy freezer storage (I still use gloves when mixing, just in case) and no air contamination.
I like liquid barns PG and VG because they pour easily.
Get a recommended scale, some flavors, make, copy and reformulate recipes from https://e-liquid-recipes.com/create , get a notebook to copy and date your recipes, buy some Boston Round bottles for storage, label your juice with relevant info (especially the date)
Repeat, label your juice.
I buy most of my flavors from Flavorwest.com if that helps.
Shake your juice.
Enjoy
So since I don’t have a freezer to store my nicotine in can I store I’m in a fridge that’s set really low? I don’t have my own place and my family wouldn’t approve if putting nicotine in their freezer but I have a mini fridge in my room
My understanding is yes, but I’d look that up as I’m sure someone has asked that very question. I keep mine in a ziplock bag and wrapped in 2 of those priority mail bags from the post office just for some piece of mind. To be clear, I like buying my PG & VG from liquidbarn because their bottles have easy open & close pour spouts.
I might be doing it all wrong but i buy 2 x 100ml vg 36 mg nic and 1 x 500ml and 1 x 1lt 70 30 premix. Then i put the one nic and the 500ml together for a 6mg mtl base And the 1lt and nic together for a 3mg sub ohm base. Easyest way for me and not nearly as harsh.
100% pg for nics. Also understand the concentration rates when buying/mixing. I personally get 100mg/ml as it makes the math also easier (ex. 3% nic = 3ml in 100 ml batches.)
Yeah that’s what I went with I only got 60ml bottles but I’ve heard the 100mg is the better one to go with since it doesn’t dilute your flavorings as much so you can taste more
Exactly. low concentrates is worthless other than reducing amount of base pg to get desired ratio. (IE. 100ml batch with 3%nic: 10ml/mg concentrate would need 10x the amount as 100mg/ml, therefore if u are mixing say a 50/50 pg/vg with 10% flavor, instead of 3ml and 37ml of base pg vs 30ml of nic and only 10ml of base pg) but It is not cost effective as base pg is alot cheaper than nic
How high do you plan on mixing your ejuice (mg/ml nicotine)? That pretty much determines which nicotine base you should get. For example, if you were to mix 25 mg/ml ejuice, a 100 ml bottle would consist of 25 ml nicotine (strength 100 mg/ml), 10 ml flavoring and 65 ml of base. You would not be able to achieve a 70/30 ratio unless you used VG based nicotine. If you will be mixing lower, then PG based will be fine.
