Hey y’all,
I’m looking for three dessert/breakfast recipes that you all love. Custard, milkshake, cereal, pie, waffle, peanut butter, or whatever. Looking through the recipe sites is endless and I want to order enough flavors to make 4 recipes. Thank you!
Just Another Vanilla Custard.
I know the feeling I just put in an order at River Supply Co last night and had to do the starter kit. Ended up getting enough that i can do some dessert, fruit and tobacco recipes, but I'm pretty sure I'm still in the same boat you are. I winged it and I'm hoping i got it right but if you look at the info in the sidebar of this sub there's a link for top beginner flavors or look at diy or die on YouTube and he has a video about your first diy order so you have a guide to go off of.
Edit: Ha, just as i was typing that out i got my shipping confirmation from River, LoL....
I checked those and I just know the flavors enough. I found a few other recipes and I’m just buying all of those flavors figuring that I can make a lot of other things with them too.

Get a scale if you don’t plan to already. It takes all the mess, potential for contamination, the tons of extra time it takes to mix with syringes etc out of the equation. You honestly won’t regret it. Even if it’s a fairly cheap scale from Amazon. It just needs to go down to 0.01g.
Also you can get dropper caps for larger bottles for your VG, PG and nic etc so you don’t have to use a syringe. I got mine from Chefs for 30p each and its one of the best things I’ve bought. It’s saved me tons of time. Especially if I’m mixing larger batches.

That’s the link to the dropper bottle caps but you can buy them anywhere.
Also something to label your bottles so you don’t end up not knowing what’s in what bottle. I don’t know what other people use. I just use masking tape cos I’m stingy! The number of bottles I make it would cost a fair bit in fancy stickers. Plus it’s easy and it works.
I hope you have fun and make some great mixes!
Well i know that diy or die was saying to get your bases but don't forget to get accent flavors. Like sure get your banana or your custard or whatever, but also make sure to get things like blueberry or caramel and to get things to sweeten or soften flavors etc....
If you like a citrusy vape, definitely try out Backwoods Lemonade. I still haven't picked up FE Lemon but have swapped in both FA Lemon Sicily and, more recently, INW Lemon Mix with solid results.
Great recipe that immediately became my ADV, and the lemonade base lends itself incredibly well to other fruit flavors, very easy to customize as you go down the rabbit hole.
Edit: Just noticed that you specifically wanted dessert/breakfast recipes. I'm a big fan of The Real Cookies and Cream.
Thanks! Lemon is one of the few fruits that I like.
LA Lemonade is really great. I've enjoyed it with FA Forest Fruit (as in Backwoods), INW Shisha Strawberry, and most recently with INW Shisha Orange which turned out fantastic.
First off I am also a slave to ws that shit is amazing. Also does the Backwoods lemonade gunk up your coils after a few days? Anytime I made a lemonade juice with LA lemonade it ruins my coils so fast. Edit: typo
I can't say I've noticed that specifically, it certainly doesn't burn through coils as fast as say, CAP Sugar Cookie mixes (in my experience.)
I often feel like my fruit / ws-23 mixes are pretty coil-friendly and last longer than expected, but your mileage may vary. Backwoods Lemonade does seem to be best off the shake and in the first week, so it may be that I run through a 60ml batch before the coil starts showing decreased performance.
Just my two cents! Interested to see if anyone else has experienced a different outcome. I should also point out that I use a Vaporesso Cascade One pen-style mod with replacement atomizers, absolutely something that could create a different outcome compared to other setups. One of these days I'll pick up a beefier mod and experiment with rebuildables, but for right now I really like the size/convenience of my current setup (and not having to learn how Ohm's law works.)
In my opinion, I would choose 4 recipes that appeal to you, that are well rated and not from 2015/2016. Get exactly those flavors (substitutes do not work).
If you want to save money, don‘t buy a kit! Read the sidebar information and you‘ll know what to buy. And stay away from DX and V2 flavors (exception TFA DX Peanut Butter and CAP Cappuccino V2) because they taste like barf (butyric acid) and have extremely long steep times.
Have fun and be safe!

When I placed my first order. I looked through a ton of recipes. Wrote down everything that interested me and found recipes that used the same flavors. That way I could make quite a few different ones with my order. Just remember you'll always go back to purchase more flavors in the future because you'll always need a few more to make the next recipe lol. Now I have like 100 different flavors.
It’s help too that they’re only $2-5 for 15ml. There’s a page in the sidebar too that explains flavors from different companies, but it doesn’t have all of them.
I just made my first 4 bottles ever. Here are the two recipes I tried:

This one is really tasty but it needs a 10 day steep (according to the instructions). Off the shake, it was just a tiny bit on the weak side but really yummy. IDK it could have just been me so if you try it, I'd love to hear your opinion.

I didn't have TPA Vanilla Custard so I substituted FLV Vanilla Custard and because I read somewhere on here that FLV Custard was not a strong flavor I doubled it. So instead of .5 gram, I put in 1.0 gram. I also added a touch of saline because I was so happy to find one with no additives that I was anxious to try it right away. An oh yeah I didn't have CAP Super Sweet so I used PUR Super Sweet instead. I used the exact amount of Super Sweet the recipe calls for.

Off the shake it was AMAZING!!! It tastes just like the birthday cake that can be purchased in the bakery of my local grocery store. I like my birthday cakes with yellow cake and that frosting that is a hybrid between buttercream and whipped cream. And no confetti, so I'm really happy with how this one turned out.

I would like to take a moment to say Thank You to everyone here for all the excellent advice! I never could have done it without all the information shared here ❤️ Good Luck and I hope you are as happy with your creations as I am with mine😃
Thanks! I’m going to get flavors for a Butterscotch Custard next.
Good for you😃 This DIY stuff is really fun when you are lucky enough to have the type of help we have here. I'm thinking of making an eggnog next myself.

Glad to hear that they worked out for you. In the future you will come to learn that just because 2 flavors have the same name, doesn't mean that one can be subbed for the other. In this case it works because TPA Vanilla Custard isn't that great and it's really not a very useful flavor imo, so I wouldn't bother getting that one. FLV Vanilla Custard is not really a true custard, it's very similar to their Vanilla Pudding but not as sweet. If you want a good custard without having to place an order to the UK, the best custard that you can buy in North America is TPA Vanilla Custard II.
I believe you, thank you and I will be more careful in the future. I was just really eager to get started and decided to take a risk. I'm interested in making a vanilla custard tart type of mix in the near future. Would TPA Vanilla Custard II work for something like that as well?
EDIT:
I'm vaping my Vanilla (Cup) Cake now and am so amazed and happy it tastes better than a commercial juice I purchased last year with the same flavor profile!
Vanilla Custard II is a french vanilla. The term french vanilla, at least in terms of ice cream, which apparently is where the name began being used commonly, means that it contains egg yolks. So yes, I would think that it would work in a custard tart quite well. Add some biscuit, maybe a little sugar cookie or yellow cake, sounds like that could be expanded into a wide range of tasty vapes.
So if you put in an extra .5 gram of Vanilla Custard that means you were making 100ml of finished juice? It can be risky making that much of a recipe you've never tried before. It is advised to make a 10ml tester of a new recipe to make sure that it agrees with your palate before mixing up such a large amount. The first couple recipes that I made I mixed up in 60ml and they ended up getting dumped out, but that is how I discovered my issue with strawberry flavors.
HaHa! I'm taking your advice seriously but you caught me being naughty again😅 I really did just get lucky, because I love what I created. I figured out how to bump the recipes down to 10 mil samples on All The Flavors so it will definitely happen next time. I'm so lucky to have found a mixing sensei who both knows what he's talking about and is smart enough to catch me and call me out when I start to get carried away🤗 I'm looking forward to finding out what happens as my creation steeps so I'm vaping some more of the last of my commercial juices, but still doing my happy dance over my first two bottle made😁
Is the OOO Strawberry still helping to fill that void for you? Also I have a wasp nano is that a good enough dripper to do a few single flavor testing on until I can afford to get a better one or would you advise me to wait?
You really do have to be a little more careful with your measurements when only mixing 10ml, but it hurts alot less when the juice doesn't turn out and you decide to dump it. Yes I'm loving this OOO Strawberry (Ripe) right now. Noted said that it really tastes like a ripe strawberry and they were not wrong. I can't believe that none of the flavor suppliers sell it. I had to get it directly from One on One. I just mixed 3% of it with 1% FLV Cream and it is delicious! I have tried so many different strawberries to find one that works for me and I have two more that are on my list yet to try. And the Wasp Nano is perfectly fine for a test RDA. I don't have one but have seen them before and they are very similar to the other popular single coil RDAs that people use for testing. My favorite RTA right now is the Wasp Nano MTL, it is a serious flavor banger. I've been using it exclusively since I got it about a month and a half ago and I just ordered two more because I like changing flavors often and that will make it much easier. They call it MTL but it has way too much airflow to be considered MTL, imo. My favorite tanks are small single coil RTAs but I don't vape MTL, more of a restricted DL.
